The EHR allows providers to document patient encounters, order labs and imaging, and securely message patients.

Cerbo integrates with several telehealth, payment, and healthcare analytics applications. The practice management module handles patient billing, reporting, and analytics. It assists with online appointment requests, custom auto reminders, charting, inventory management, and intra-office chat processes.

    Pros:
I am a solo practitioner and Cerbo allows me to do all of the things I need to do. It also allows for a team. I love the online scheduler and that I can process payments. It is very robust and there are features I'm not using yet. I like that they are available to me when my practice reaches that level so I won't have to change EMR's again. Customer support is excellent.
    Cons:
The cost is high for my small practice. Sometimes I wish I could make small changes to forms, etc. However, customer support is great and they make the changes quickly.

    Reasons for choosing Cerbo

It best met my needs and I especially liked the way charting is done.

    Reasons for switching to Cerbo

I switched because I was looking for a more efficient system for charting.

    Vendor Response

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review! We're glad that Cerbo is helping you chart efficiently!

Tried numerous EMR and this is the most versatile & beautiful, perfect for DPC (direct primary care)

    5

EXCEPTIONAL! Very pleasant interaction with support services. EMR with good flow, logic, and efficiency. I have tested numerous EMRs before purchasing this. I have also worked with numerous EMRs in my lifetime as military and civilian physician, and i like this one Cerbo(MD-HQ) for DPC or private clinics, and I like Epic for ER settings.

    Pros:
This Cerbo (MD-HQ) EMR never stops improving, new features every day driven by customers like me. Amazing customer support, without frustrations nor delays that typically found in many companies. I love the fact that: (1) I can open MANY patient charts at the same time and in different windows and all on the screen for me to view at once (this feature cannot be found in some EMR); (2) I can have ALL the parts of patient chart accessible to me at the same time while typing my notes while talking to patients (instead of having to close my notes to pull up the labs/last notes/specialist scanned charts then re-open my note again); (3) if I suddenly loose power or internet connection my notes are saved automatically and can be found (other EMRs I have lost my 2 hours note before); (4) I can sign my note even without a diagnosis or ICD10 (some EMR forces me to do these before it "allows" me to sign my note); (5) beautiful pleasant colors to look at, endless customizations on my end and on EMR's end with simple email request and voila it's done (6) one EMR with everything I needed for prescribing, sending faxing (I opted out of paying for receiving fax to save money), sending patient portal messages or emailing them from EMR if they don't want to use portal, charges, billing. I use Google voice for my phone and texting. (7) I can pull up a "copy" (which i call "phantom") of my current note 1 minute ago, 2 minutes ago, etc. and pull up something I deleted a while back.
    Cons:
    (1) My encounter notes cannot be bolded or italicized or underlined, wishing I could like in Word documents where I can do those with CONTROL key + "B" / "I" / "U" so I can focus on certain parts when reviewing my own long and detailed notes. As my own solution: I capitalized things that I wanted myself to pay attention to but that makes the note looks kind of ugly. I heard they are working on it to fix this "wish" and I'm praying it will come to pass soon. (2) the specialists across the nation is not pulled in nor searchable (Elation has this ability at this time). I'd like to have it available like that of pharmacies and medication (and labs after integration). It's time consuming to enter fax # and phone # and addresses for each specialists. There are API at [SENSITIVE CONTENT] so I hope they are working on that; for now I have to use that CMS NPI registry website + Google search for the specialists info and set them up individually myself in the EMR as time goes by.

    Reasons for choosing Cerbo

Flow, Customizations, Expandability, Reliability, Customer Service

    Reasons for switching to Cerbo

I no longer work for the other health system that uses Cerner, and I had to choose EMR for my personal private clinic.

    Vendor Response

Thank you so much for the glowing review! We are indeed working on a solution for putting rich text in the encounter text (without breaking Chart Parts autotext/ templating) and will take a look at API solutions for searching the NPI database.

HORRIBLE CERBO. Do not waste your stress!

    1

It is so disheartening to deal with a company that tells you that you can only have one training a year for a new hire. Everything is on videos so if you are what would be a 3 minute question you have to watch a 45 minute video. No logic.

It is hard to come up with what I like since they do not support the software benefits. I literally cannot say anything positive.
    Cons:
I am a practice consultant, I have used their software with 3 of my clients. They charge a lot, have very very very poor customer service and virtually no support and when you ask for help they scold you. It is so upsetting. I am recommending other software options for my clients. I will be recommending other software options to my clients and the thousands I will be speaking to at conferences.

    Reasons for choosing Cerbo

    Vendor Response

Hi Lisa, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with Cerbo has been frustrating, and we appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention. Cerbo doesn’t provide full new-hire training since each clinic’s workflows are unique, and clinics are best positioned to onboard their team. To support practices, we offer a training video library, knowledge base, and ongoing access to our support team. Each clinic also receives one complimentary call-based training session per year and is welcome to schedule additional paid training sessions at any time. Many practices use these for workflow optimization, new feature education, or team refreshers. We take support seriously and would appreciate the chance to review your experience. If you're open to it, please reach out to us at support@cer.bo so we can look into the details and work toward improving your experience and the experience of the clinics you advise.

    Pros:
For practices that do not bill insurance, it is an all-inclusive Electronic Health Record and patient billing platform - you do not need integrations with other software to make it work. It has expansive functionality to accomplish basically anything you would need to accomplish. It has the ability to generate shortcuts (similar to a text expander) so if you find you type the same phrase over and over, you can use a 1 word shortcut instead. And the integrated faxing has saved me an average of 15-30 minutes per day of scanning, uploading, then deleting files for patient's charts.
    Cons:
The only issue I have come across is it is currently a bit cumbersome to instruct a patient to take multiple tablets of a medication at the same time (so say you want them to take 2 tabs of something twice a day - in other EHRs I've used you can select the number of tabs from a drop down - with Cerbo you have to type it into the directions as there is no "tab number" drop down). Otherwise it is a fantastic software - the best EHR I have used.

    Reasons for choosing Cerbo

They were the only one that was all-inclusive

    Reasons for switching to Cerbo

I needed more structure to my notes

    Vendor Response

Thank you for your review! We're so glad that you chose Cerbo and that it is working well for you. Stay tuned for changes coming soon that will make it simpler to prescribe multiple or half tablets per dose. In the meantime, saving your often-used rx dosing profiles (with applicable amounts, notes to patient, notes to pharmacy, etc. as desired) may be a good time-saver.

Flexibility and ability to customize to my needs. During the Covid-19 pandemic they turned on telemedicine overnight.
    Cons:
There are no templates and I find myself transcribing all of the labs into the note. Sometimes it types backwards and needs to be reset. Sometimes I click something and large portions of the note are erased. Luckily the software saves the note every few seconds so not all is lost but a little bit of time.

    Reasons for choosing Cerbo

It was a more versatile platform to grow into.

    Vendor Response

Thanks very much for sharing your experience! We hope to add a template-sharing library in the future, and I know that will be a welcome addition. Do you know that there are already a few different options for pulling lab values into the note (if they're received or entered as structured data). Pros:
Literally nothing. I use this software on a gig job. I use Elation in my main practice and there is no comparison.
    Cons:
Cerbo is not intuitive, requires you to know secret keyboard shortcuts to add things, the chart note is literally a blank page unless you spend considerable time learning how to write a template (you'll need some programming skills to do so) and even then it's one long blog with nothing separating the various parts. Labs open over a chart note so you can't use both at the same time without constantly opening and closing the lab. You have to open Cerbo again on another tab to view an old note and the current note at the same time. They use different colors to try to make it easier to find things (the color of the filing cabinet drawers) instead of just doing everything in chronological order with a search function. It's rather like Bozo the Clown puked a jar of ice cream sprinklers on the page and you're supposed to remember which color is for what. Oh ya, no search function. When you click on boxes they don't always expand and you end up working with a tiny portion of the screen and can barely see anything yet later you might stumble across a way to enlarge it, but that wasn't on the page you do most of your work and you couldn't figure out how to repeat it even if you wanted to. The lab integration puts all the labs into one list and you have to pick your way through it as though you're on a WW2 minefield - no filter option. If you scroll down too far the whole screen scrolls away from you (amateur programming mistake). The programming reminds me of software from the late 1980s. In trying to put every last feature they could come up with into this EMR, they have made it inefficient and almost impossible to use. The learning curve is long and steep and because this is a gig job, I'm not invested enough to spend the considerable time it would require. I never finish a day of using Cerbo in a good mood. Don't do it. Just don't do it. Don't let all the bells and whistles sucker you in. They are not as special as you might think and not worth the hassles.

    Reasons for switching to Cerbo

Not a switch from Elation but using Cerbo at a gig job. Elation is so easy to use, is well laid out, is intuitive, is easy to see everything when with a patient, and it makes for MUCH faster charting. Cerbo is a nightmare in comparison. Cerbo even makes Epic look good.

    Vendor Response

Hi, We’re sorry to hear that your experience with Cerbo has been frustrating. We understand how important intuitive workflows and efficient charting are for clinicians, and we value every piece of feedback as it helps us improve. Cerbo is designed to support complex, patient-funded and integrative practices, which can feel different from other platforms especially in short-term or gig settings where users may not be familiar with a clinic’s workflows. For clinics purchasing Cerbo for the first time, we have a dedicated team to provide live onboarding and training to ensure a smooth start. Additionally, our training videos, knowledge base, and ongoing support resources are available to help users navigate the system effectively. - The Cerbo Team

    Pros:
I like that the software is easy to use, customizable to what I need, and the support is great. The single greatest feature of the software is the patient portal, which allows people to register as initial patients, access parts of their records, and correct demographics. I also like the fact that I can add supplements I use frequently so that I don't have to rewrite them each time.
    Cons:
There's very little I don't like. I would like to be able to reorder fax pages, but it's pretty easy to work around.

    Reasons for choosing Cerbo

It came down to Atlas and Cerbo because of medium range price, good support, and ability to work outside of the insurance model. Cerbo won out because of better patient portal, fax integration, and working with supplements.

    Reasons for switching to Cerbo

The support from Amazing charts became unusable, which is what finally made me make the switch. The fact that faxing and patient portal weren't integrated into the software was also challenging, but would not have been enough to make me switch on its own.
