About OpenPM

OpenPM is a cloud-based practice management solution designed to help medical organizations manage billing, accounting, patient records and more via a unified portal. The platform enables institutions to streamline managements of claims, patient follow-ups and cashflow operations in real-time.

OpenPM includes an appointment scheduling functionality, which allows medical professionals to create, view and track upcoming appointments using color-coded slots and custom rules. It offers a host of features such as patient registration management, electronic claims processing, integrated credit card processing, HIPAA compliant internal messaging, and more. Additionally, administrators can utilize the built-in eligibility verification system to verify insurance coverage, birth date, patient liabilities, and other data in real-time.

OpenPM enables supervisors to generate and export reports into spreadsheets, CSV or PDF formats to gain insights into various operations related KPIs. Pricing details are available on request and support is provided via phone, email and other online measures. FHIR API EHR Integration with our recommended or your favorite EHR.

    Great company, great product. As a surgeon who recently moved to private practice, OpenPM has been a massive help in navigating the insane world of US healthcare billing. Their online customizable patient portal for scheduling and invoicing and payment collection is excellent. The support team is top notch, via phone or online tickets. The value is unmatched compared to other options. Integration with PraxisEMR is seamless.
    Cons:
    Wish I had more time to exploit all the vast features they offer. Today I just learned I could route the POPS patient portal to my own clinic subdomain - amazing!

    AVOID - simply does not work

    OpenPM is the single largest ongoing problem in my office. I am unable to bill effectively. I do not trust the software or it's representatives. Have many lost claims as a result. OpenPM is an expensive mistake.

    Nothing! I can't think of a single good thing to say.
    Cons:
    As above - simply does not work. I was able to get very few claims through without HOURS of troubleshooting. No immediate tech support available to resolve issues. Responses to requests for help are typically delayed 24 to 48 hours. Support has frequently able to resolve the issues in the short term, but is unable to identify the root problems to prevent the same issues from occuring repeatedly. OpenPM staff typically tries to shift blame to my staff - claiming I am not enrolled with insurers, that EDI links have not been set up, that ERA agreements are not in place, etc. All of this is easily verifiably not true.

    A Practice Management Software that is a Game-Changer to grow my company

    There should be some leeway with support being allowed to speak to the customer directly especially when the Admin give the permission to do so.

    I love the functionality. As a biller, it is very user friendly and allows for good organizational process for claims follow-up
    Cons:
    I don't love that the patient's date of birth isn't visible on the insurance profile screen. You have to go back to the patient or encounter dashboard to see this info. I feel like the DOB should be on the header of each screen along with pt name.

    Having nearly 30 years experience in the practice management space, OpenPM is a joy to work with. Everything about their company is about efficiency and helping you succeed. Support is top notch and they get back to you quickly if they do not know the answer. Updates are automatic and occur frequently, bringing many new features each time.

    The product is easy to implement and train new users on. Security and change logs allow for easy troubleshooting. Built in clearinghouse information makes it easy to see the status of all claims that are in process.
    Cons:
    More robust clinic summary dashboards would be helpful. I know that OpenPM is working on this and I believe we will see them in 2021.

    The issue was completely resolved; I did receive updates as the resolution was being in progress. Very polite and kind people.
    Cons:
    Nothing to complain about. The OPS members are available almost immediately and they go on and beyond to help you as much as they can to resolve the issue.
