Great tool for advanced network monitoring

      5

Generally I like this product and find it very useful when I need to spot an IP which causes network issues even if it's unintentional. The software is quite stable and easy to use. It has rich dashboards, reporting and notification abilities. It supports many flow types like Sflow, Netflow, Jflow, IPFIx, etc. and even it has agent which helps to translate certain non-flow network into flow or it can do DPI or analyze internet speed traffic. It's very versatile.

      Pros:
This is one of the most useful monitoring tools among ManageEngine ITOM products for network technicians who simply wants to best of it. It's basically a collector but with many logical grouping mechanism and very troubleshoot-purpose reports, it becomes very versatile tool in technicians hands. It saves time and gives accurate information for problematic sides of network. Additionally, it has some extra modules like NCM and OpUtils which is a great plus. For the ones those want to make sure the root cause of network problems, it is indeed a must-have software for proactive approach networking.
      Cons:
Even if the greatest tools can have problems and Netflow Analyzer has very few. My only wish about this product that I have to configure the network devices for flow configuration manually. I can basically do it over UI but some network device flow configuration settings can be outdated and which doesn't help to make the flow monitoring activated in a small of time. Since I'm accustomed to make these configs from the devices itself, no problem for me but it can be time saver if they're all updated, riched (for different model/brand of network devices) and configured easily.

      Pros:
Using NetFlow Analyzer the capability of forensics enable me quickly to solve virtually all the security incidents because most of the exercises were established to get to the root of the investigations very quickly. The historical data gave it a background to assist in the overall understanding of an incident as well as formulation of intervention measures.
      Cons:
There was not much variety in the exporting formats of the forensic data to be given to outside analysis. This entailed further processing of data into files which can be accommodated by specific kinds of security products.

      Pros:
I was able to determine the bandwidth trending with reasonable precision, with the help of the NetFlow Analyzer software. Thus, I was able to plan for maintenance instead of having the network going down unlike other times and being able to see detailed analysis of application level issues through the intelligent trend graphs.
      Cons:
At some degree of populacy, the process of alert generation was slowing to several seconds. Despite such blocking not affecting the overall monitoring, ideally, those alerts should be slightly more real time for vibrant analysis during high usage.

      Pros:
The ability to analyse bandwidth usage in terms of applications, users, as well as devices was further magnified by NetFlow Analyzer. It also helped in clearly pointing out the programs that were not essential but were occupying huge bandwidth in order to be fine tuned.
      Cons:
The billing was limiting when it came to the creation of reports for different departments regarding billing.

      Pros:
NetFlow Analyzer provided me different visibility of bandwidth utilization to interface level and traffic flow. I utilized it to mute top talkers during downtimes and it even helped to identify traffic incurrence from prohibited sources that would have required me to set up a number of filters.
      Cons:
It is limited to few formats of reporting and there is no easy way to schedule a detailed drill-down report. I began to repeatedly create the same traffic usage reports and there was an option to automatically send them as an email.

      Pros:
The cost analysis feature is effective in defending bandwidth costs. I get to monitor unnecessary or superfluous application and administering policies without headaches, while the integration with firewalls provide me with additional layers of security information to go by.
      Cons:
In terms of improvement there is only one issue the time it may take for the dashboard to reload when dealing with densities. Exporting specific reports that are customized is restrained and is only possible in the default formats mentioned above.

      Cons:
The NetFlow Collector may not auto-refresh when there is high amount of data and sampling is in progress. To monitor metrics I had to reload views to view the update and this disrupted observation during stress tests or live incident diagnosis.

      Cons:
The product sometimes stammers when creating reports for large datasets, worse if the traffic included in the analysis is massive. This can result in delay in receiving important data during the high use time period.

The traffic analysis of NetFlow Analyzer in real-time environment has been of great benefit. One of the uses it affords me is the provision to track bandwidth usage by application and by user which can be useful in enhancing the performance of the network.
      Cons:
The tool seems to be fairly efficient but I faced several problems with the alerting feature. There were missing or delayed alerts that could contribute to missed critical event occurrences.
