About Donor Tools

Donor Tools is a cloud-based donor management solution developed by Higher Pixels. it caters to small and mid-size nonprofits, charities and faith-based organization. The solution allows fundraisers to track contributions from multiple donors.

Users can create online fundraising pages with donation forms. The donations are processed through PayPal and automatically logged in the system. Once processed, donors are emailed to confirm receipt of their donation and fundraisers can generate donation reports that filter data by fund, source, donation type and date. Donor Tools also integrates with QuickBooks that allows donor data to be exported and processed to fulfill accounting and tax reporting requirements.

Donor tagging features allow fundraisers to place donors into user-defined groups, which enables them to compile targeted email, mail and phone lists based on donor history, interests and involvement. Integration with MailChimp allows fundraisers to manage online marketing activities and track interactions.

Services offered are billed monthly and support is available via email.

Good tools for small organizations.

Donor Tools is a great tracking tool for donors and their donations and is important for small nonprofits.

Pros:

The interface is easy to handle, you can control donors with your address and contact, you can include multiple users and their permissions, and send personalized thank you messages to donors.

Cons:

Some functions are not possible to customize, being only possible to use the standard form that comes in the software.

Incredibly simple, cost-effective tool for managing our donors.

Pros:

I love the simplicity of Donor Tools. So many donor management packages (or CRM packages in general) are so feature-rich that their complexity makes them problematic, and not cost-effective, for smaller organizations like ours.

Cons:

Often a piece of software's greatest strength also informs its weaknesses. In this case, there are a few social integrations I would love to see happen. Also, cleaning up data is a huge task, even with a relatively small database. We have, on occasion, needed to clean up records, merge duplicates, etc. A slightly beefier data scrubbing toolkit would be nice. Finally, handling households, couples, families...these are things that are important to us, and we do it with tagging. That's okay, but it feels like something that should be a central feature to a software package designed to manage information about people.

Pros:

After searching different sites to track donors we found Donor Tools to be the best one for us. It has everything we need and for the price, i could not find anything better.

Cons:

The reports are not customize like others, it comes out in excel, but once in excel you can customize the entire report and obtain all the information you need.

The graphs are helpful. The interface with payment methods seems easy. The search tools are mostly useful as well.

Cons:

Categories, not easy identifying monthly donors. It does not recognize the same donor when they use a different payment method.

The ease of use involving adding donors and creating proilefs and generating receipts. There is some website integration.

Cons:

There are more updated extensions for accepting various forms of payment. It would've been nice to have several options here.

Pros:

For the price, in comparison to the competitors, its great. However, the team behind it doesn't seem to update it as it hasn't changed in YEARS. It does work, but not as user friendly as other options on the market.

Cons:

The exports are always confusing and cumbersome to execute. The 'online donation' section isn't very esthetically as good as others to match website design. Plus the customization of the donation section isn't as user friendly, this forced us to use a service and then manually import over. So we only do this once or twice a year before mailings. Doesn't integrate with other major donation platforms.

The best software to manage donations

A partner needed a software to manage the donations of his foundation and all the software was the one that had more functions and lower costs to use it.

A big advantage is that it accepts payments within the same software which allows accounting to be managed.

Cons:

One disadvantage is that he does not accept paypal but he has a great agreement with wepay to be a good payment alternative.

My overall experience with donor tools has been great since I stumbled upon the software while browsing online. I don't know what we were doing prior to this installation of software but we definitely will use this moving forward... good job guys

Pros:

The overall creation of software to capture this type of service is Standalone and unique this gives my nonprofit organization the ability to keep track of all donations coming out which is excellent for tax purposes.

Cons:

The cons are very few when talking about this software the ease of navigating through the program is almost seamless and it's also an excellent way to keep your nonprofit organization organized I understand this is the section where the negative views are supposed to be but there are none in my opinion.
