A simple and effective tool of onboarding and SOP documentation

We used AirManual to automate our pre-onboarding and onboarding process. New hire feedback has been fantastic and the team have found it easy to use. What makes AirManual really special is the customer support and training they provide. We've been blown away by the attention to detail and help we've had to guide us through the process.

Pros:

The software is simple to use and does what is say on the tin. You can create simple checklist quickly and it's easy to edit and update.

Cons:

Some features are still in development but the AirManual team have been fabulous at responding to feature requests and the tool keeps getting better and better.

Reasons for switching to AirManual

We were looking for something easier and more intuitive to use.

Finally A Place We Can All Document Our Processes

The team were brilliant at onboarding us. Rather than just an app, I felt we gained a process and system for documenting and sharing processes in our growing business.

The guided checklists ensure the overview, big picture is covered before getting into the detail. It's uncluttered and really enables the team to focus on documenting how things are done.

Cons:

I'd like to see the manage features integrated into the whole documentation process, rather than having to switch modes/views.

Reasons for switching to AirManual

Notion is powerful but it can be overwhelming, giving you more features than you need for a specialist task of documentation. AirManual's focus makes it more suitable for this task. Good practice is built into the way it's been designed.

Pros:

It is a live document that can be amended as the business changes and grows.

Cons:

The size of photos and fonts cannot be changed in the document. I understand that it is supposed to be an online document, but for parts of it we need to print and this can be costly due to the amount of pages that prints off. I also have to adjust the size of the photos elsewhere before being able to copy them into AirManual.

I love that it is easy to get started on a new document in the blink of an eye and you can have something good going strong in about the same amount of time it takes to brush your teeth.

Cons:

I don't think I have found anything I don't like, but I'm looking forward for new features to keep rolling out for even more usage options.

I have saved about a week already by delegating quite complicated processes to my virtual assistant seamlessly. My overall experience is very positive.

Pros:

The guided checklists are excellent, particularly in conjunction with the other items that can be embedded. I particularly like how easy it is to embed a video, which makes it so much easier to introduce someone to a new process quickly.

Cons:

If there were more options for highlighter colours, I would be even happier.

Reasons for switching to AirManual

Although both packages can provide some of the functionality of AirManual, that isn't what they're for and it's complicated and clunky and surrounded by other distraction.

It is very easy to use. It is user friendly and accessible to everyone and anyone. Considering we work in a construction industry where we have field employees and office employees, this helps both worlds stay connected and updated with documenting, processes, and information.

Cons:

Sometimes, there are glitches when I am working on a page. It may be that I am adding too much but it becomes slow at times.

We needed to make documents more readily available with accurate and current information since so much does change in our company because of the industry we are in.

Airmanual is great - really easy to use and has benefited us so much. You don't really how many processes are sat in the back of your mind until you have to document them! The team at Airmanual are also really helpful with any queries you may have and supporting you through the entire process.

Cons:

There is little I would say is a 'con' about AirManual but I would like to see more freedom introduced when it comes to the formatting. An ability to change the font and it's colour as well as adding different colours would be great. Also being able to resize the images more freely rather than rigid formatting with these would help with page design.

AirManual has transformed the way we operate! With its super friendly interface, resources and features, it's become our go-to solution for documenting all our business processes in one centralised location. Employee onboarding has never been smoother or more efficient – new hires can access everything they need to know, empowering them to hit the ground running from day one. All staff members have access to our standardised processes, eliminating the risk of knowledge leaving with a departing team member. AirManual is more than just another piece of software; it's a game-changer for our company's productivity and knowledge management.

Cons:

NOT fully appreciating the time and effort required to document processes effectively (which is NOT AirManuals fault). Writing these processes can indeed be challenging, makes you uncover areas of improvement, requiring thorough understanding and articulation of each step. However, we believe that this effort is necessary for the desired outcome which is crucial for a businesses growth and to reduce risk.

Systemise your business!

The onboarding support has been terrific. The group sessions are critical to get traction and make the most of the system, and I'm excited to see what additional efficiencies we can drive through the business.

It's a great tool to guide you through getting the nuances of completing a task properly, out of your head and into a usable format for others. In doing so, we've been able to share knowledge much more effectively, and remove bottlenecks. We have a task management system, but this doesn't provide the texture and depth needed to help someone deliver that task. Airmanual solves that problem.

Cons:

It's a neat system. My biggest challenge was getting clarity on how our task management system would dovetail with Airmanual. that's more of a reflection of me rather than Airmanual though.
