About Daylite for Mac

Running a service-based business means balancing clients, projects, and relationships while still finding time to grow. Too often, that work is scattered across multiple apps, emails buried in inboxes, follow-ups forgotten, projects delayed, and important details lost. The result is wasted time, inefficiency, and stress.

Daylite is the all-in-one app designed to help service-based businesses manage the entire client lifecycle in one place. From first contact to repeat and referral business, Daylite connects every step so you can deliver exceptional service without losing time to disconnected tools.

Who Daylite is for
Daylite is built for service-based businesses where time and trust are the product. Consultants, coaches, lawyers, real estate professionals, financial planners, and other professionals use Daylite to manage clients, new client opportunities, projects, tasks, notes, and email in one system designed for Apple users. Whether you’re a solo professional or leading a team, Daylite helps you stay organized, efficient, and focused on your clients.

Why Daylite is different
Unlike generic CRMs, Daylite integrates email directly into your workflow. Mail in Daylite turns messa...

ges into action by linking them to clients, new client opportunities, or projects, and by allowing you to create tasks, appointments, or even new client opportunities right from your inbox. Your inbox is no longer where work gets stuck, it becomes the place where work moves forward. Daylite is also built specifically for the Apple ecosystem, with native apps for Mac, iPhone, and iPad. It works seamlessly offline, syncing automatically when you’re back online, so you can rely on it wherever you are. Collaboration and visibility Daylite helps teams stay aligned by sharing calendars, delegating tasks, and tracking progress. Business owners gain visibility into workloads and upcoming deadlines, while individuals stay accountable and focused. For solo professionals, it provides the same clarity and organization without the need for extra staff. Security and trust We know your client data is sensitive. Daylite is ISO 27001 certified, uses secure cloud sync, and provides flexible permission controls so you decide who sees what. You can feel confident that your business and your client relationships are protected. Customer service that puts fit first At Marketcircle, we know that choosing software isn’t just about features it’s about finding the right fit for your business. That’s why we put so much effort into helping every customer succeed. We also recognize that effort is best spent on businesses that will truly benefit from Daylite. Our approach saves everyone time and money: you avoid investing in a tool that won’t serve you well, and we focus our resources on customers who can get the most out of Daylite. To make that decision easier, our team is available for calls to talk through your goals and challenges and to see if Daylite is the right match. If it is, we’ll guide you through getting started with personalized onboarding, one-on-one support, and a library of educational resources. If it isn’t, you’ll walk away knowing sooner rather than later with no wasted effort on either side. The outcome Daylite helps you run your service-based business more efficiently, so you get time back to focus on what matters most, like working with more clients, delivering great service, and growing your business with confidence. With everything connected, clients, new client opportunities, projects, tasks, notes, and email, you’ll avoid missed opportunities, streamline your workflows, and gain clear visibility into the bigger picture. That means fewer things slipping through the cracks and more confidence in how you operate your business every day.

They are very responsive to my queries and get back to me within 24 hours if I need help. The 24 hours is completely acceptable since I am based in NZ and they are on a different time zone.

Pros:
The software is project based rather than calendar based but it has all the functionality of a highly effective calendar, task and file linking package. The linking of clients to projects, calendars, contacts, notes, tasks and emails is so helpful. I can click on a client or a project and see the whole history of how I have interacted with the client, what projects we have worked on, when I last spoke /emailed them etc. It makes it super easy to stay clearly on top of all of the different projects and priorities I have. It syncs with my phone and iPad and computer so I am up to date at all times.
Cons:
I used to wish that I could link emails on my phone to Daylite. The functionality used to only exist with the desktop. Last year, they added this functionality and now it makes my life much easier. Occasionally it hiccups in the email linking but is getting better and better as they do the fixes.

Pros:
A mac-based program was essential for our team even back when we started using daylite in 2015. We love that our mac products can work in real-time and have the ability to coincide with apps such as calendar, email, contacts, reminders, etc. on our apple devices. Having a cloud based CRM is essential too because we can't afford for something with our servers to be off and effect our access to our database. The feature we utilize most is the smart-list feature. This has been crucial to have for the success of our business(es). The other key feature is the ability to link projects, appointments, contacts, emails, etc all together so we have all the pieces to the puzzle to be able to serve our clients and effectively and efficiently as possible.
Cons:
Wishing there were more programs we could integrate such as the ability to link daylite with our MLS program so we can link MLS listing tickets to our projects/contacts. Also the ability to link "showing time" directly with daylite.

Reasons for switching to Daylite for Mac

We needed a mac-based program that had a great mobile app and had the ability to customize exactly how we needed.

Vendor Response

Hi Breanne, thank you for such a great review! We're thrilled to know Daylite has been helping you and your team since 2015. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Pros:
Interface and customizarion - i can see my most important items right away and can put other things on tabs. Sync with cloud is seamless and ability to use on several devices is a plus
Cons:
More sophisticated features very hard to learn — such as projects, pipelines, opportunities. Manual is quite good but complex in these areas.

Helps me to Get Things Done

4

I am happy with the SW and how it helps me to get things done in a logical and efficient manner. It also allows me to get things "down on paper" so I do not have to remember them or worry about forgetting something. If you use David Allen's GTD philosophies, then you will like DayLite. I have also used Sugar, but found that focused too much on office-based users. I travel internationally 70-80% and need to be able to run my business from the back of a taxi, in the airplane and in my hotel room after a long day. DayLite does a good job of helping to do that efficiently and keeping my sanity.

Pros:
It is relatively intuitive and easy to use. Also good for people with a mobile office set-up as it interacts well between iPhone, iPad and MacBook. Customer support is good, albeit only via email and chat.
Cons:
It has some limitations and inflexibilities that sometimes frustrate me, or force me to use "old-fashioned" work-arounds, but I must also say that a number of these have been corrected over the years.

Reasons for switching to Daylite for Mac

At the time, Sugar was not well set up for using when I am offline or away from my desk (e.g. when I am in an 8-hour flight). DayLite was and is a good tool for the mobile office road warriors. DayLite is also better at project and task management.

Pros:
Love the clean look of Daylite, and I love how it connects things together. All the info I need is right there.
Cons:
I haven’t found it brilliant for Sales Analysis, such as things like conversion ratios, value of projects / customers etc. But maybe I’m just not good enough with the software. Also not great for tracking time management. The software is designed for Macs - great. But some of my colleagues need to run financial software and so have to use Windows machines. It would be great if they could use Daylite too - but they can’t. So we have to run multiple systems.

Reasons for choosing Daylite for Mac

Better for Mac. Liked the look and feel of it better.

Vendor Response

Hi Michael, It's fantastic to hear you can't imagine life without Daylite, what a compliment! We're passing along your feedback about Windows and more sales and time tracking functionality for our team to review as well! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.

Pros:
I love that it works seamlessly with all my Apple technology. I don't have to log into anything special or remember to mark anything and yet all my important communications are logged automatically whether I'm communicating via mail or my iphone. I can add notes, add a picture of handwritten notes to contact records, easily schedule followup, and nurture series to contacts. People always remark how organized I am and that I never seem lose track of things, and that's due in part to how easy Daylite makes it easy to store info, schedule followup, and manage open projects.
Cons:
It still needs some work to be robust in pipeline management, but that's balanced out by the fact that all my information is easily accessed.

Reasons for choosing Daylite for Mac

The integration with my apple tech and not needing to log into a web based service.

Pros:
Daylite is user friendly with many customizable functions which suit our business well. The task system keeps us on track and nothing gets lost in the shuffle. We also are utilizing the activity sets to create systems and projects for workflow. Daylite will enable a new untrained employee to enter into our business and take care of our clients easily Some much information is captured and stored in a sensible manner, it creates a continuum of customer service.
Cons:
At times, there are too many reminder boxes popping up on screen. It would be beneficial if we could like directly to the companies with who we do business, rather than logging on another screen.

Reasons for choosing Daylite for Mac

Ease of use and familiarity. Time invested in learning the functionality.

My staff loves it. Business intelligence is severely lacking.

4

I want to love Daylite. If the reporting were more robust, I would be THRILLED to stick with it. But without reporting and analysis, it is more like a glorified Contact Manager, Appointment Calendar and Task List--which is why my staff loves it. Unfortunately, I need business intelligence, and Daylite doesn't provide that.

Pros:
It lives on the Mac desktop, like a "real" business application; not on a browser where it is too easy to get distracted. Awesome. It works on Mac. Excellent. It takes some forethought to get it set up, but once set up it is flexible enough to handle unique needs. I initially loved that. Activity Sets automatically create Meetings and Tasks based on date (but there are huge problems, noted below). Daylite does an excellent job of tracking individual events for each Person.
Cons:
While Activity Sets do a good job of creating a series of upcoming Meetings and Tasks, Daylite has no idea that these "events" must exist in series. A meeting is a meeting is a meeting and a Task is a Task is a Task. This makes reporting next to impossible... Daylite cannot generate a report of how many People made it to one Meeting, but not to the next Meeting. It cannot tell me how many Phone Calls (each entered as a separate Task), for example, were made to a Lead before they came in for that first meeting. Daylite uses Categories to keep track of People. A Person might begin with a category of 'Lead', then change to a category of 'Client', then have category 'Completed'. (We actually had 5 primary categories, each with subcategories to help us understand each client) The problem is that there is no history. Reporting, again, is nearly impossible: Daylite can give raw counts: How many People were added in the last 7 days? How many Leads do we now have? Etc. But these reports are a snapshot of current data. Once a Person moves to the next Category, I can no longer get an accurate report of: How many new leads were added last week? What is our conversion ratio? How long did they exist as Leads? The Report Module is very limited. Custom Reporting is available but requires a 3rd party programmer. Piplelines proved too clunky.

Vendor Response

Thanks for the review! We appreciate you being a long time Daylite customer and your detailed review. We have discussed your feedback and using it to consider how to improve Daylite.
