"Get a roadmap in a very efficient way !"

We use Jibility to build business cases, project plans, and roadmaps with a structured approach.We particularly appreciate the financial part included in the tool to prepare budgets.The benefits for us are the structured approach and the clarity of renditions. We save a lot of time!

I like the structured approach to building business cases, project plans, and roadmaps. It is easy to use; I like the clarity of schemas and renditions. The financials part is a must that saves a lot of time and facilitates the discussion with boards!

Cons:

I miss an "application/software/system" object that would be linked to capabilities to see how software covers capabilities. This object could have a satisfaction attribute, a licence cost attribute, etc. For the moment, I use tags instead, but it remains limited.Also, another currency than $ would be nice ;) (€, CHF, etc.)

A great, simple to use, capability planning strategy development tool

Jibility have been excellent. Really friendly but not pushy. They are based in Australia (I am in the UK) but they were still able to quickly answer my queries and even did a live session with me.

Pros:

This is a great way to easily visualise capability planning work but also has an excellent workflow that guides you through challenges, objectives, capabilities, actions, and initiatives to produce a roadmap to take your business forward. At first glance it appears quite 'basic' but, if you use the pro level filters and tags it allows you to create as many views and viewpoints as you like to display your capability/strategy information. They have a free, companion e-book that is really excellent. It takes you the theory of capability based strategy development and the practice of doing it with this tool. Worth reading whether you use the tool or not. It should be understood that this is not a traditional, monolithic EA tool - it is there just to do your capability based planning, strategy development and roadmapping. This is what I needed and was able to produce, in a week, a view of our critical capabilities and roadmap that would have taken me ages in a fully fledged EA tool. It depends what you want but the learning curve is almost zero and it did what I need to do when I needed to do it. If you think you need a full EA tool, this won't replace it though. I would suggest having a go with the free tier and seeing if it works for you. i did and got hooked.

Cons:

See above - this is not a traditional based EA tool and I have rated it on what it is not against one of those. Its more akin to something like Roadmonk in its aims though it is quite different in use. On that basis, there isn't really anything I didn't like about it. The pricing is perhaps a little odd looking - you can do a lot on the free tier, the standard tier adds a little more but there is a big jump to the pro tier which gives you the full functionality. Its not a lot for the pro tier but it might be enough to tempt you towards one of the cheaper full EA tools

A very good idea that needs a lot of work to become effective

The step by step process is useful even ignoring the offered examples with challenges. At the same time, it can actually confuse you when it offers you the wrong examples or when it forces you to develop individual actions before developing the wider initiatives!

The ability to structure a step-by-step process from strategy to implementation and from plans to results.

Cons:

It offers examples and references that have nothing to do with strategy. A "challenge"/internal problem that has been identified does not make it part of the strategic plan. Additionally, it does not have any guides for strategy development. Last, the logic behind the steps is flawed-it sends you in a loop.

Great and intuitive tool for Strategy Development

I used Jibility for a Strategy Development piece and my stakeholders sat across a wide variety of functions. I was able to use and leverage the platform to drive consensus amongst the group and come up with a clear strategy and next steps.

I liked the framework, how easy it was to use and also my users were able to follow the "bouncing ball", from Challenges, Objectives, Initiatives to Roadmap.The User Support was great, I had great support from the product team on questions I had along the way. It was also intuitive, with a great library of "common" scenarios and descriptions.

Cons:

There are easy options to export the output to Powerpoint and the like, however I found the dimensions a little challenging to use, as they were. This isn't a deal breaker though.

They make it impossible to cancel to secure recurring revenue

Was ok, did the job at the beginning, but the inability to cancel the subscription makes it a no-go for me.

It is an ok to tool to create strategic frameworks

Cons:

You can't cancel your subscription without reaching out to their Customer Support, which btw takes ages to reply --just a cheap way to secure more revenue on their side.
