Delve Is a Game Changer for Organizing and Analyzing Insights

5

My experience was excellent. Delve made qualitative analysis feel manageable and even enjoyable. I plan to use it in my consulting work, especially for strategic planning, where I often need to synthesize insights from interviews or group discussions. It’s a tool that adds real value to both research and practice.

Pros:
Delve made it incredibly easy to group and categorize thoughts, themes, and ideas. The platform is intuitive and user-friendly, which allowed me to quickly identify patterns and connections in my data. The training videos were a standout feature. They were clear, easy to follow, and helped me learn both the product and the broader process of coding qualitative data. I came away with new skills and a deeper understanding of analysis.
Cons:
Honestly, I just wish I had discovered it earlier. If I had known how powerful it is for organizing themes, I would have used Delve during my literature review process.

Loving Delve! A real life saver in coding for a student doing research - a few minor tweaks could make it amazing!

4

Overall, Delve has been a life saver and a great thing for someone with dyslexia to help organise my coding. I am so thankful and will use it for future projects too. I appreciate the bot who can answer most questions but liked speaking to [sensitive content hidden] as a human who was very helpful today.

Pros:
I love the way it helps me to map out codes for my research and create codes and nest them into sections. You can search by keyword, and there are lots of helpful features like looking at snippets and filtering systems. The tutorials and mini-course on analysing data is great and helped me a lot. It has helped me a lot as a dyslexic learner to plan and organise my analysis. I will definitely recommend. Also to add, the customer service team are very responsive and helpful. Thanks Delve
Cons:
I would have liked an easy way to view all codes and move them around to rearrange them and add nesting, not only via the list, as you have to scroll up and down with the mouse and it is hard to find things. This was time-consuming. Also, it would be good to be able to move codes and nest items when you have searched by name. Currently, you cannot move anything when you are applying a filter. Last thing on my list would be to export codes and subcodes into a list (without the snippets) so you can see themes for planning the write up - even better if it made a mind map for you (but that might be wishful thinking)

Pros:
Delve was very easy to use and made completing my dissertation very straightforward. I looked at several similar products but Delve was the most user friendly and best value for the money. The ability to drag my codes around to organize them in various ways was very helpful. The "How to" videos also made the process simple and the coding tutorial was honestly better than the textbook sources I used.
Cons:
I didn't really have any cons with Delve. I guess if there was anything that I would have liked to have is the ability to print my work organized by codes/categories with the extracted quotes included.

Delve doesnt overcomplicate matters.

5

Delve’s simplicity and ease of use allowed me to concentrate fully on the analytical process. Unlike other tools that can feel overwhelming or overly technical, Delve supported my workflow without interrupting it. I appreciated being able to engage deeply with the content, knowing the platform was facilitating, not complicating my thinking. Overall, Delve proved to be a straightforward yet powerful tool for qualitative research. I would highly recommend it to researchers working with complex, culturally rich data who value clarity, usability, and a well-designed coding environment. I have shared my experience and shown others, both here at Reading University and at other universities where I have presented at conferences, so they can consider Delve for themselves.

Pros:
I used Delve to analyse twelve one-hour interviews with heritage school leaders from a range of cultural backgrounds. The data was rich, nuanced, and deeply contextual, requiring a tool that could support thoughtful, systematic analysis without adding technical complexity. Delve delivered exactly that. One of the most impressive aspects of Delve is its intuitive coding interface. The visual layout made it easy to organise and refine codes, helping me stay focused on the data rather than the mechanics of the software. This was particularly valuable when working with detailed qualitative material from heritage language schools, where clarity and structure are essential.
Cons:
At the time, I found separating the codes into themes and subthemes just a little time-consuming. I reverted to doing this by hand. This was because I had over 300 codes and over 2000 snippets, which was exceptionally rich data.

Pros:
I used Delve software to support my thematic analysis for my masters thesis. I’ve never had to use a software for my qualitative analysis - so it’s interesting and yet challenging to use an entirely new software as a first timer. Its user-friendly interface made coding and refining themes straightforward, while the export options (to Word, Excel, and PDF) allowed me to integrate outputs directly into the dissertation. It also allowed me to import my transcripts directly as words instead of typing them out which would have discouraged me from using it. Delve also offers collaborative features for sharing projects with peers or supervisors, which, although not required in this study and I didn’t use it, could benefit larger team-based research. I selected Delve over more complex packages because it provided the core functionality I required in a simpler and more accessible format. Also, because my supervisor advised me against using such. Lastly, the emails from customer Support helped me learn some tips about using the software which I might not have figured out myself, such as merging codes under a theme.
Cons:
I can’t fault anything about Delve. I only feel it is quite on the high end price-wise. And this might discourage price sensitive students (which they are usually are) from using it.

Delvetool helped me to quickly cross my dissertation finish line

5

I had a great experience with Delve. I searched on other QDAS and Delve seemed to be the most comprehensive for my use. I was a bit apprehensive at first because I was not familiar with using QDAS technology but quickly became reliant on it's usage. I would highly recommend this tool for qualitative research.

Pros:
Delve helped me to quickly highlight specific sentences, quotes, or phrases to be able to code them. It also helped me to organize my codes into themes and reorganize them later when I needed to move specific codes to another theme. I was also able to do quick searches for themes I needed and be able to quickly search for specific areas of my paper to write about the topics at hand. Lastly, when doing a search in my notes area, it found all my specific codes or possible themes, that I could quickly go to, and be able to quickly cut and paste into my dissertation. It helped me stay organized and continue my writing process without hiccups.
Cons:
I had to use a google spreadsheet to transfer all my codes and from Delve so I could holistically see my codes and possible themes. On the google spreadsheet, I was then able to combine/collapse themes to get a fuller picture of my writing.

The best QDA platform by a mile

5

At the start of my research, I experimented with several QDA tools, including NVIVO and ATLAS.ti. However, I discovered that these tools were extremely complex and overloaded with features. Delve is a perfect tool for thorough qualitative analysis, with no unnecessary features, just exactly what you needed. The AI chat was very handy as well, as it allows those snippets that would be otherwise forgotten to be included in the write-up.

Pros:
The tool has an excellent user interface, an easy-to-use layout, and AI chat options that work well, and overall, it is an excellent tool.
Cons:
It would have been useful if multiple statements could be coded at the same time. Instead of doing it individually.

Pros:
The site is easy to use, and it is accompanied by how-to videos guiding the researchers on the coding process. It has a collaborative function which enables online, remote team work. Whenever you need help, you can click the customer support buttom to chat, and they answer quite rapidly. The data is secure in the site. The price is reasonable when it comes to having an institutional account. It is a lot easier to approach qualitative data because one can manage to categorize in a smooth way.
Cons:
Overall, I liked it a lot. I wish it were a far more cheaper, so more people could benefit from its use.
