Pros:

It's a bit cheaper than any other STR platform I've searched. The owners of homes seem more laid back.

Cons:

The screenings for repetitive guests who mess things up is almost negligent.

The BEST way to find spacious lodging!

Our experience with Vrbo has been fantastic. It is so much better than staying in a hotel. We save lots of money by having a full kitchen and preparing some of our own meals. We've never had any problem with access or cleanliness. The owners have always been very responsive if we have any questions.

Pros:

We use Vrbo for our vacations all the time. I most like being able to see multiple units on one page, including their distance from key landmarks, like restaurants and shopping. The photos of the interiors of each unit, as well as views from the balcony make it easy to select from among offerings.

Cons:

Some information about a unit is often missing in the owner's description, so you have to read all the reviews to find out something very important, such as there's a strange smell, or the elevator doesn't work, or there's noisy construction going on next door, etc... So, I read all reviews.

VRBO is the worst platform

Horrible, stay away from using VRBO. The system is so buggy, the quality of their software is bad, the interphase is not intuitive and is old. Their customer support most of the time have no clue how to help you because they run into the same issue you do, and they have to escalate to development.

Pros:

Honestly not much, but it does a little bit of extra revenue which honestly for the hassle and effort of dealing with them, it is not worth it. VRBO brings less then 10% of our total bookings.

Cons:

Nothing, The software is not intuitive, performance is bad, it always has a lot of bugs, and customer support is not very well trained (most of the time they have to escalate because software doesn't work)

Lots of gorgeous homes all over

We used them 4 times and all but one house was awesome. A house I rented in Oregon was a duplex, not a house. It didn’t have air conditioning and it was uncomfortable. All the other homes we rented were excellent

Being able to put in an area and see houses available for short term rentals. Nice homes that are reasonably priced.

Cons:

Additional fees , the quoted price should include all charges. One house in Oregon looked much better in the pictures than when we got there it was a duplex, not a separate house.

One of the best apps of its type

Very good and an easy user experience compared with other apps and online cottage/holiday booking sites, Managing trips and the One Key integration is a positive.

The filter options are very good and the ability to favourite options you are considering makes it easy to return to them

Cons:

If you view listing by 'map' then it can sometimes be a bit difficult to use and select the ones you want to bring up on mobile. Overlap and it still shows the properties which aren't available/don't match your filters.

One of the best vacation rental services out there

A trusted service that has the backs of both the host and the renter. The available listings are much more upscale than many other vacation rentals and Vrbo seems to keep this a key point of it’s offerings.

Pros:

House rentals that give you the full privacy of no shared living areas. I also enjoy the vast amount of listings.

Cons:

Hidden fees that are not disclosed in the upfront cost while searching for rentals. This is a large negative and there’s no reason that this cost shouldn’t be included in the overall price upfront.

Great platform, seamless Lodgify connectivity

Overall I am happy with VRBO, I believe it is also cheaper than AirBnB from the guest perspective and have had wonderful guests come through this OTA.

Pros:

Easy to use, especially with the connection to Lodgify. Able to manage all my reservations, guest communications, and bookings easily through my PMS (Lodgify) with seamless connectivity. Easy to rate guests via the platform.

Cons:

The interface maybe isn't as nice as other OTAs. It would be nice of lodging taxes were paid directly as with AirBnB, instead of me manually reporting quarterly to my county, however this is a minor inconvenience.

Travel with the accommodations that are important to YOU!

A great way to travel and quickly see lots of available properties when planning a trip! I think there could be a better way to search for specific accommodations that arn’t in the precurated list.

Pros:

Easy to search properties at any location for any time. I also like that it displays the price with ‘all fees included’ so you’re not bombarded with a higher price than you’re expecting at checkout. It’s also helpful to see reviews from other people who stayed at the property.

Cons:

I know it’s probably a safety measure, however it can be hard to know exactly the location you’re booking without having the address or street number. Property’s can also be misleading and appear better in the listing than in real life. I would also like to be able to search for properties based on key words that are not included in the ‘filters’.

One of the worst vacation rental apps so far.

It's been horrible. A waste of time so far. The prices and fees are insane. It's a way for people to rent out the smallest space in their houses to get all of their bills paid.

I honestly don't like it. I haven't found 1 good thing about it yet. I keep. Hoping they'll change things and offer more areas and options, but it's a waste of. Time and space.

Cons:

There's never anything available in the areas I'm looking for. What they do have available is outrageously expensive.
