Vrbo 2026: Benefits, Features & Pricing

Our experience with Vrbo has been fantastic. It is so much better than staying in a hotel. We save lots of money by having a full kitchen and preparing some of our own meals. We've never had any problem with access or cleanliness. The owners have always been very responsive if we have any questions.

So I booked a home for our extended family of 8 for a wedding. My sister-in-law from out of state came with her family for this joyous occasion. A week before our rental I continued to receive emails about my rental, including the door code and instructions. Yet when we arrived, the door code was not working. We texted the host via the app but no response. I finally called and someone answered. I explained that the door code was not working. After a pause, he stated that he sold that property 6 MONTHS ago. I then was left to contact Vrbo support. After a half hour support via chat stated that the home was not available for rental since the owner sold the property. Mind you, I booked this property 2 months prior. I was then told by Vrbo that I would receive a refund and that I would be called to help make alternative arrangements. I never received a call, even after the whole weekend trip was finished I never received a call to help with accommodations. I ended up finding 2 rooms last minute for 5 of our party while my wife and daughter stayed at a friends home. The additional cost of the hotel rooms ended up being over $1100. Long story short, after contacting Vrbo support and literally going back and forth for a few weeks, they offered to reimburse me $500 and $250 in One Key cash. I asked for $500 in One Key Cash but they refused. What good is Vrbo if you can't trust the process. Our wedding family gathering turned into us being separated and put a damper on our weekend. We will never again being booking on Vrbo and I suggest everyone the same or you may experience what we did. Thank God we were not out of the country or that would have been a total nightmare.

We used them 4 times and all but one house was awesome. A house I rented in Oregon was a duplex, not a house. It didn’t have air conditioning and it was uncomfortable. All the other homes we rented were excellent

Very good and an easy user experience compared with other apps and online cottage/holiday booking sites, Managing trips and the One Key integration is a positive.

Horrible, stay away from using VRBO. The system is so buggy, the quality of their software is bad, the interphase is not intuitive and is old. Their customer support most of the time have no clue how to help you because they run into the same issue you do, and they have to escalate to development.

Overall I am happy with VRBO, I believe it is also cheaper than AirBnB from the guest perspective and have had wonderful guests come through this OTA.

It's been horrible. A waste of time so far. The prices and fees are insane. It's a way for people to rent out the smallest space in their houses to get all of their bills paid.

A great way to travel and quickly see lots of available properties when planning a trip! I think there could be a better way to search for specific accommodations that arn’t in the precurated list.

I really like the app. It gives me updates on the properties I have been looking at and if I made a reservation it reminds me.
