Equine specific veterinary software but needs interface updating.

Overall, Covetrus Impromed was a functional veterinary practice software that served its purpose for our practice for a few years. However it lacked finesse, additional bells and whistles, and we chose to switch to another Covetrus software because it offered and updated interface and more features, as well as cloud based technology. Impromed Equine would be excellent for equine veterinary practices if the interface would be updated to be more user friendly and visually appealing.

Pros:

Covetrus Impromed is one of the few veterinary softwares that is tailored specifically to equine vet practices, and as an equine only practice we found this very helpful. Most softwares are tailored to small animal practices and there are some major differences between small and large animal so we liked that impromed was tailored to us. It is functional and provides all you need to run an equine clinic.

Cons:

Covtrus Impromed has a rather archaic interface. It is not particularly user friendly and it takes a lot of time and energy to train staff on how to use it properly. The navigation structure is lacking and difficult to follow. The software itself isn't appealing to the eye but it also isn't appealing with its documents for example invoices, receipts, medical records etc, which are often sent to clients and other veterinarians.
