Excellent, best value out there, fully featured, highly recommend

    5

Seamless setup makes it easy to get up and running, the API was tricky to program to, took a lot of trial and error, and it is also not pure JSON, so the variable typing was a pain, took lots of debugging cycles to finally get it right. Support to my surprise did escalate to engineering to fix some critical API bugs, that was a pleasant surprise since most support depts completely fail when it comes to bug reports from customers.

    Pros:
Feature rich, does everything we need, has an API, allows us to have multiple lines. We were able to customize the phone lines and get contact data for our business pushed into OpenPhone so we knew which customer is calling or texting us and what their customer profile was.
    Cons:
The Webhook API is very limited and doesn't give us access to messages. The contact API is still pretty rough and has issues. AI responder is overpriced, no API to use our own AI token based API. Contact UI doesn't provide the ability to insert links, for example being able to link to a customer's CRM info in another system.

    Reasons for choosing Quo

Eventually I will build my own phone app to use with Twilio but for the time being, I needed a ready to use solution with enough API access to do what I need, and OpenPhone works.

    Reasons for switching to Quo

Line2 was horrible, no service, dated product with no updates, and very poor call quality. OpenPhone was the fix.

Easy to use, has a great feature set for the price point. It has been incredibly valuable in setting up a professional business phone service for a very small business.
    Cons:
Occasional connectivity issues, I am not really sure what the cause is and it has been infrequent enough that I haven't looked deeply into the problem. There isn't great personalized customer service, however it is user-friendly and they have excellent online resources so I haven't missed it.

    Reasons for choosing Quo

Better feature set, price point, and company.

    THE PLATFORM/COMPANY IS UNRELIABLE

    1

If you want a reliable long term platform, this isn't the one. They will shut you down in a heartbeat based on speculation. Customer service/retention means nothing to this company at all. I set it up for business use to contact and follow up with my customers however, that only lasted less than 2 days. Don't be fooled by the price, you pay for what you get. I wouldn't recommend this platform to my worst enemy...IT ABSOLUTELY SUCKS!!!!

The flexible platform allows me to use the service on my desktop or my phone, allowing me to take these phone calls to our business line where ever I might be. Currently, Openphone allows me to SMS clients in Canada. Google Voice, which was the main alternative does not have this feature.
    Cons:
They charge for each user and add a new line for each user even if all you need is to have multiple users managing one line.

    Reasons for choosing Quo

Google voice did not support sending SMS messages for clients in Canada.

An awesome business phone and SMS Solution for today's mobile driven world.

    5

OpenPhone is a business phone and SMS solution designed specifically to make communication easier for small businesses owners and their teams. It offers a wide range of features that are tailored to meet the needs of entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, freelancers, and other small teams without unnecessary friction or feature bloat . With OpenPhone, you can make and receive calls, send and receive text messages, and even schedule messages to be sent at a later date. I love that it lets me share my phone number with customers without revealing my personal cell phone. Plus, OpenPhone offers a simple, straightforward pricing structure that makes it an ideal choice for businesses on a budget. Works awesome with my iphone.

    Pros:
OpenPhone is one piece of my business toolkit that I simply cannot be without. I own and manage two small businesses and was finding giving out my personal number unmanageable as I didn't know who was calling me and for what purpose. Having a dedicated local number that I can tie to my business in google maps, facebook, and my websites was a huge piece of my business toolkit. Openphone has been amazing.
    Cons:
There have been a few service outages in the time I have been a customer, but the openphone team has been responsive about action taken, and have communicated well though it all. All have been resolved in a timely fashion.

    Reasons for choosing Quo

Ease of managing multiple numbers and sms inboxes.

Do NOT waste your time or business with OpenPhone - I've lost a lot of money

    1

I have lost business while using OpenPhone since calls cannot be actually answered (they are automatically disconnected). I thought maybe they had an automatic robo detector but turns out, their system just doesn't work. I have had family members trying to call that have to email us because they cannot call or text. I honestly don't know how they can do this to businesses.

Nothing works and IT keeps asking me to waste a ton of time to help them figure it out.
    Cons:
Syncing doesn't work - EVER. I have numerous screenshots and have sent them to IT. They keep asking for more details but seeing as how I'm trying to run a business, it's hard to track everything over and over again to help them figure it out. I don't receive calls and am not able to make calls. The phone rings (sometimes), I pick up and it automatically disconnects me. IT again, wanted me to give them phone numbers, times, etc. AND wanted to put some tracer on my phone. I don't think so. After months of begging for a better outcome, nothing has changed.

    Reasons for choosing Quo

Seemed like it would at least do the basics. Boy was I wrong.

    Reasons for switching to Quo

Google voice quality on calls is less than desirable. OpenPhone has better call quality (IF you can get and stay on a call). But I had zero issues with GV syncing and actually receiving text messages, etc.

    Cons:
There is only one con. Once in a while, I run into a glitch where I want to enter this number into documents, but the phone number is not recognized as real phone number, so I have to put my personal number....so it's great as the forward facing phone number for customers for my business, but I have to use my personal number for certain administrative accounts.

Great 2nd line phone service for business

    5

Had problems initially porting my number due to my problems from my previous service. I worked with one tech person at OpenPhone who was proactive, communicative, and really made me feel like my business was super important to them. The service is crystal clear, and everyone I've reached out with has been responsive very quick. Love the new services that keep being introduced, especially the auto transcript of voicemail and call recordings. Havent used the auto attendant, but plan to soon. So many features all for one low price. OpenPhone is a great business partner to have.

    Pros:
separate contacts lists, windows desktop app, many features with new ones constantly being rolled out, and all for a very reasonable monthly charge are why I love Openphone, but what truly separates them from others I've tried has been the support I received during implementation and porting my number.
    Cons:
The only thing I'd like to see is the ability to set a (or for it to have its own) custom ringtone

    Reasons for choosing Quo

What initially sold me was the ability to keep a separate contacts list for my business contacts out of my phone's regular contacts app, along with a reasonable cost

    Reasons for switching to Quo

Dingatone was full of nonsense, like it was designed for teenagers (maybe it was). The worst was a game they had where other customers could go in and steal your credits. Not a good service for business use. What annoyed me was, like most other low cost phone apps, was it requiring to connect to your phone contact list. Its important to me to keep my business and personal contacts separate.
