TaxDome is a practice management platform that helps tax, accounting and bookkeeping firms, as well as CPAs and EAs, manage both internal processes (workflow, CRM, reporting, secure document storage) and client-facing activities (documents, signatures, invoicing, messages, proposals and engagement letters). Available on desktop or mobile for your firm and your clients.

TaxDome is the most intuitive cloud-based solution for practice management. This best-in-class software is accessible no matter how large or small your business is: use web or desktop software as well as mobile apps to run your practice remotely.

You can utilize built-in templates to handle tax returns, bookkeeping, payroll and other accounting processes. TaxDome allows teams to annotate, highlight, and rotate PDFs and update fillable forms on a unified interface. Additionally, managers can collaborate with staff on various files using the @mention functionality.

All in one platform that improves workflow and client experience

Overall, it has been a strong platform for a modern practice. Once it is configured, it improves follow up, reduces missed items, and makes collaboration with clients smoother. It is not perfect, but the time saved through automation and the structured client portal make it worth it. I would recommend it to firms that want a clear workflow and a better client experience.

TaxDome brings everything into one place: client portal, tasks, pipelines, organizers, e signatures, invoices, and secure messaging. The automation and templates save a lot of time, and the client experience feels professional and consistent. It is especially helpful for keeping files, requests, and deadlines organized across many clients.

Cons:

There is a learning curve at the beginning, especially to set up pipelines and automations properly. Some areas feel less flexible than expected, such as reporting, fine customization, and a few workflow details. Notifications can get noisy, and performance can occasionally feel slow when moving between clients or large documents.

Pros:

TaxDome is such a time saver with everything you need in one place when it comes to document storage, signatures, invoicing, and client communications. On top of that, anything I don't know how to use yet in order to make the back end of work as efficient as possible the AI chat or real customer support can answer anything I need! From a clients perspective, I have had nothing but good feedback on how easy everything is on their end, which was always an issue before.

Cons:

There are random reports or tracking that is not possible yet but I am hopeful with all that they have so far, those will be pushed out in the future.

TaxDome has been amazing for my tax and bookkeeping business. It allows me to automate many things and it provides a wonderful portal for my clients

The emails within the portal are very difficult to read and follow. There needs to be a better flow of all communication within portal.

Pros:

TaxDome offers a fairly wide range of customization options, but it’s missing some of the smaller, detail-level customizations. For example, it would be very helpful to have short codes for account-level fields like client name and address, which are currently not available or are skipped.

Cons:

The reporting features are complex and make it difficult to obtain the results we’re looking for. As general users, it’s not always clear what the field names are called. Fortunately, my background in computer science and databases helps me navigate some of these challenges.

We loved your roadmap, so we knew you were working on changes and improvements. We appreciated access to the community before we bought and could see that there was progress towards clients wants.

Onvio did not provide upcoming changes and we felt they were not moving with the times.

Pros:

I really appreciate that TaxDome combines the functionality of several programs into one platform. TaxDome is simple and doesn’t take much time to learn.

Cons:

The only thing I don’t love is that you can’t do partial payments in TaxDome for clients. They can do it themselves via the portal but not us.

Very happy with Taxdome

Pros:

I love that I can see all of my clients information in one place (chats, emails, docs, etc). I also love that there is an app making it easy for clients to submit documents and initiate chats using their phones.

Cons:

I wish Taxdome would integrate with my Lacerte tax software and allow me to print directly into Taxdome rather than having the added step of printing to a folder then uploading to Taxdome.

Pros:

Was easy to use, for me, once everything was set up. I hate setting things up, but other staff took care of that. Customer support, is very helpful. The tax management for jobs makes life easier for all to see what is going on.

Cons:

Set up can be stressful, but if you make it an on going process once it is going, that takes some of the stress off.

The ability to automate my services. The library and access to different templates and workflows. I like the chat and email option to communicate with my tax clients. I like the option to accept payments for my small business. I like that I can store my tax documents.

Cons:

The pricing is high to add additional users and there are constant issues going on. The fees are constantly increasing. There should be a phone number to speak with customer service. The setup process is very time consuming.
