Pros:

It's a message driven language. It is a copy of SuperCard.

Cons:

Pricing. Outrageous and intractable. No pricing is listed on the LiveCode web site. You have to fill out a form and apply for a pricing quote!?!?!

Reasons for switching to LiveCode

SuperCard stopped supporting its product. Its owners bought the product without full access to the product's core source code. Management and administration team an absolute disaster.
