A great experience and the best 3rd party I’ve have the pleasure of working with. We’ve been able to collaborate to challenge their initial assumptions and change functionality to better fit how customers may use it. As well as work together to solve problems we’ve had to create a better outcome for our customers

Pros:
Userfront was great to work with. They’ve been able to help us improve our login experience for customers and migrate seamlessly from our previous IdP. All while working closely to build new functionality that fits our use case as well
Cons:
A good problem to have, but since they are iterating so quickly and building new features the documentation can get out of sync easily. Leading to us working with outdated docs

Reasons for switching to Userfront

We found we had to write a lot of custom logic to get the authentication flow we wanted and this had issues with the way Cognito handled this

The best auth experience youve never heard of.

Userfront & its staff care, and it shows in the product. Its powerful auth management, yet so easy to set up and use. The team is responsive, happy to help, and very receptive of feedback.

Pros:
In a matter of minutes I can go from a boilerplate "Hello world" to a fully authed app. And with an (overly) generous free tier, I can do this all for free. Free and easy. Hard to come by in this day and age.
Cons:
When I first started using this product some years ago I found the docs to be a bit lackluster, but they have since been updated and organized and that is no longer the case.

Reasons for choosing Userfront

Userfront had a quicker time to boot, or so to speak. Also a far better pricing model.

Overall, Userfront has been awesome. Setup is smooth, and it really saves time on things that would normally take much longer to build out ourselves. Their support team’s a big plus and they’re quick to respond, know their stuff, and genuinely seem to care about us getting things right.

Pros:
Userfront makes auth way simpler than I expected. Getting login, sign-up, and all the basics running was quick, and the API is intuitive and flexible. It feels like they thought of everything devs need, from MFA to user roles, without a steep learning curve.
Cons:
Wouldn’t mind a few more customization options for the forms and like an easier way to match our branding exactly. That said, whenever I hit a roadblock, support was on it with solid workarounds.

We switched from Clerk to Userfront because Userfront offered a more streamlined setup with everything we needed right out of the box, making our workflow faster and more efficient. The platform's intuitive API, excellent documentation, and flexibility to customize really suited our project’s requirements. Plus, their support team has been consistently quick and super helpful, which has made the transition and ongoing work much smoother. Overall, Userfront has just been a better fit for our needs as we scale.
