Tracking Without Hassle

Our experience with TaxFlow has been great. It was easy to implement, it is easy to use and, when needed, the support has been terrific.

Pros:

We are a small firm that was using CCH's Workstream for our tax project tracking, which was tedious, unintuitive and very slow. We are very glad that we have made the switch to TaxFlow. It is easy to use, easy to customize for how our firm operates, handles all of the important things needed for tracking, and is always being improved. What once took numerous clicks, entries & minutes is now completed in seconds with just a few clicks. And we even saved some money in the end. Great - and much needed - product!

Cons:

TaxFlow worked very well for us from the beginning and has only been improved since. We have no complaints.

We actually switched from CCH Axcess Workstream but that was not available in the list. TaxFlow is so much easier to use, including both implementation and daily tasks.

Excellent tax return tracking software for CPAs

We have been very pleased with TaxFlow for tracking our tax return projects. Creating the projects is straightforward and the customizations of the worksteps is easy. We are able to see the statuses we want to see for each project and can sort them easily as well.

Pros:

It is basic, customizable, and not complicated at all. Other tracking software try to do far too much and are needlessly complicated.

Cons:

There currently is not an email notification option for when an assignee is changed. The developer is aware of this and will look into an update for it.

The prior software was very slow, complicated, and far exceeded what we really needed from it. TaxFlow is exactly what we need.

Very easy to set up and use. We were able to seamlessly track all of our tax returns throughout the year and see very quickly what the status was for each.

Nothing - it worked great for our small firm.

Pros:

I love that this is just a step above a normal spreadsheet and easier to collaborate on. I did not need one hundred features, I needed to track our workflow. I needed to see who had open returns and where we were in the process. Extra features are nice but I already have a CRM and a portal so I did not need to combine all those things. Tax Flow fills that need perfectly!

Cons:

I look forward to reporting features coming.

Google sheets was not enough. The fact that a return in tax flow just shows as complete and drops off the list once we complete all the tasks is wonderful and makes it an easier "living" document.

Great Software — Just Didn’t Fit with My Existing Tools

Really positive. It was easy to get started, and I appreciated how focused and user-friendly everything was. If I didn’t already have other systems in place, I’d absolutely be using it. It’s a solid option, especially for firms looking for a cleaner, more affordable alternative to the bigger platforms.

It’s super intuitive and clearly built with accountants or bookkeepers in mind. I loved how easy it was to track tasks and manage my workflows without feeling overwhelmed. It’s clean, efficient, and it was intuitive to use.

Cons:

Honestly, nothing about the software itself — it’s great. I already had other software in place that overlaps with what TaxFlow does, and since those are tied into more expensive systems I’m already paying for, it didn’t make sense for me to keep both.

When we were deciding which system to purchase, we initially thought TaxFlow may not have all the functionalities that we were looking for. However, they worked with us to find solutions and helped implement information needed. The customization process was efficient. Amazing staff to work with.

Pros:

The product is very easy to use and simplifies tracking our progress through tax season. The benefits of the product far outweigh the cost. Tax Flow has helped our team work more efficiently and spend more time on other aspects of tax season.

Cons:

The only improvement we hope for in the future is integrations and workflows. Besides that this software delivers exactly what Tax Flow describes.

Easy way to view where we were in the process on completing the return and if anything was outstanding.

Cons:

Would like a default sorting view and better way to manage tags.
