Caliber LIMS 2026: Benefits, Features & Pricing

Its good to use when we have full fledge instrument connectivity and all the modules were connected.

Investigation cycle is very complicated and still some more simplification with tracking of OOS required, especially to be included with recheck/subscribe and results retransfer option should be allowed during investigation cycles also.

In the caliber software specifically laboratory management information software (LIMS). Easy to understand the workflow. Example: If user asked for approval for sample login modification. New persons who have access but not trained on software feature, even new users can find the submenu for approval on friendly screen. Easy to find the submenu and there are all possible are available as required.

Parent test binding is very good feature, which we are using during "Dissolution" test and Uniformity of dosage unit" test.

When it works, you can expect it to track audits trials in your laboratory. It is also a way to go paperless for your worksheet, test reports, inventory record, and usage log systems.

There are a lot of unacceptable bugs or design flaws in the software that should have been caught during their QC or QA testing. For example, there is one instance where our supervisor received a test sample on August 2023 and set the due completion date to 30 days. For some reason, the sample due date automatically calculated by the system was December 2022, which was backdated to a year. Confronting the developers, they told us this was a bug "due to several samples being added to the system at the same time, causing the software logic to fail at the backend". We felt that this was a very common use case and should not happen to a mature, marketable product. As for poor design, an example would be when preparing volumetric solutions that have a shelf life of 24 hours, the LIMS software would consider the solution expired on the next calendar date (Even if the solution was prepared at 23:59 pm the day before) After confronting the developers, they stated that our request was uncommon, and that they would take our request as a requirement and need additional time to develop it. In the end, we just resorted to set the validity of the 24 hr volumetric solutions to 48 hours to bypass this bad design.Lastly, the fact that the software forces you to run it using Internet Explorer mode and not Microsoft Edge poses a serious security risk and does not inspire confidence at all.

The electronic raw data designed by caliber is very nice it is very similar to traditional raw data style and COA template is very good.

Requirement configuration takes more time even after accepted. Microbial modules are not competent to meet regular flow. Application should be compatible chrome, mozilla firefox, etc. Keep on facing the bugs (related to application), the frequency is every month minimum two will be there.

The functionality of the CaliberLIMS is excellent and user-friendly.

Time taken for implementation of new functionality and support after implementation.

LIMS is a kind of product will cater all the requirements in Quality Control function in Pharma.

The things that I most liked about CaliberLIMS is that all the required features are available by default and it is the decision of the lab on what additional features to add. Out of the box, the features required in a compliant lab are available. It may not be the most user friendly but there are a lot of configuration features.

The worst thing about CaliberLIMS is that it is not exactly user friendly to use. May be the modules can be compacted for a proper flow during operation and during setup. The other thing that I do not like about CaliberLIMS is the lack of a proper tracking system or a proper notification system. It is entirely upto the user to try and track any activities that needs to be done.

User friendly application with centralized Database

Data base not robust like oracle. Old technology user in development upgradation required.

My Pros about Caliber LIMS is:1.Easy Navigation and everyone can handle this software easily with minimum training.2.Easy to register a Master’s Data.3.Good in Sample Workflows, Inventory modules, Audit trails and many useful reports.4.Good in compliance way, no one has rights to “DELETE” the Data.

My Cons about Caliber LIMS is:1. Need improvement while doing Investigation analysis in Sample manager module.2. No technical support in US Time zone and need to improve support area. 3. Errors while using production version and modules one by one even after Qualification.4. Need to improve sample manager module and other modules with more options. Ex: Sample Reconciliation, Unable to handle complex calculations, OOS/OOT handling, Unable to handle complex specifications etc.,

Sample Workflow, inventory modules, audit trails, user management and instrument connectivity.

Improvement in support area and understanding customer requirements. Errors while start using production version and modules one by one. errors are resolved timely, but it will impact on production setup and release process.
