About Pushpay

Pushpay is a cloud-based online payment solution that helps organizations like schools, churches and education providers to centralize donation data and manage payment operations. Key features include transaction import, donation statement generation and reporting tools.

Users can import data related to funds, transactions and other donations from third-party sources. Additionally, users can upload files through the Pushpay portal and match imported data with available funds.

Pushpay lets users maintain a database of gift entries and donor information including contact details, amounts, payment methods and dates. Donors can also send recurring gifts. Pushpay provides users with giving reports that include the total number of donations, unique donors, new donors and total gift amounts received in a week. The solution offers integration with QuickBooks, Elvanto and MinistryPlatform.

Support is available via an online knowledge base. Pricing is per month, billed annually.

This software is super easy to use. It stores your information safely so that you can come back and make another donation easily. It stores multiple payment methods and requires a PIN each time to ensure security.

Cons:

Honestly, I haven't found anything that I don't like about this software. You will not be displeased.

Pushpay is a great platform for giving

We have been using Pushpay for 9 years and find it to be a great way to receive donations from anyone, anywhere, at any time. We have not had many issues with the giving platform. The app create platform is a little difficult, but we don't use it for that.

Pros:

Pushpay makes it easy for our congregation to donate. The ability to use a qr code or text to give really helps. Almost 50% of giving to our church comes through pushpay.

Cons:

The app creating that they have is not simple. Years ago, it was very simple. We wish they would go back to the platform they used then.

We chose Pushpay for the ease of use and the fact that many other congregations that we are affiliated with recommended it.

Pushpay was so much easier than paypal was.

PushPay is a great platform to give and makes it easier from the guests' and employees' end!

Cons:

The only thing I've come across so far is that the amount you previously gave stays in the system so you have to erase it before giving again.

Cons:

While the platform is certainly solid, it did add another ecosystem for our administration. There is nothing wrong with the service, just limited in a full solution.

Pushpay - Above and Beyond

My overall experience has been very good and I would definitely recommend the product. The only reason I did not score a 10 is because we are still in the implementations process.

Pros:

The ease of implementation, set up and use is what I like most. I am not from the tech generation and to my surprise, with a coach, I have been able to navigate through the implementations process without too much difficulty. Also, all of the folks I have encountered along the way, have gone above and beyond to assist: [sensitive content hidden] [sensitive content hidden] created a "how to give" video only because a member of our congregation directly reached out to Pushpay for guidance. This is the "above and beyond" and what counts in business.

Cons:

Not being able to communicate directly with my Implementations Coach made things difficult in the beginning. Having emails and messages filtered through care@pushpay.com caused a delay and allowed for misunderstandings.

We chose Pushpay because it has the features we need for major fundraising; ease of use; and the lower cost.

Reasons for switching to Pushpay

We did not have the ability to manage fundraising and it cost more.

I love how efficient, effective, and excellent the presentation and interaction with this platform is. The Pushpay team has been super helpful throughout our process and our goals of immediate needs for such a quick turnaround for our switch. Everyone ensured that we had all the information we needed for the transition. The virtual open-door policy has been a blessing for me and my team.

Cons:

The only thing I liked least about Pushpay was that I didn't make the connection with the proper individuals so we could start the transition sooner. They are absolutely amazing

Horrible Customer Service & Lack of Follow-through

Great in selling their services. User friendly once it was FINALLY set up. ...but it all went downhill from after that.

Cons:

PushPay customer service has been incredibly lacking for us. They have failed to complete a simple task of linking the giving through PushPay from our new campus to the bank account for that campus. After a YEAR of emails and phone conversations, all we have are excuses, apologies, our customer service rep wrongly accusing us of not providing the paperwork which we verified was sent and received and he admitted, "Yes, I have it right here"...and they STILL have not resolved the problem. The only way to contact them is through a portal requesting a call back and setting an appointment, which is automatically confirmed on a calendar only to have the rep repeatedly fail to keep. Horrible customer service. We dread having to switch companies and re-educate all of our donors but we are shopping the market and advise others who are considering PushPay to do the same.

Church just switched over to this

Overall, very easy to use. No complaints on this software. It does its job, and doesn’t seem to charge a crazy processing fee for credit cards either. That’s always nice.

It’s very easy to use ... I can text an amount and give to my church, or I can go on our church website and click the giving button .

Cons:

I dislike that it doesn’t integrate with Planner, which we use to coordinate all of our church teams. We used to be able to give right in the app itself when we check our scheduling, but cannot do that with Pushpay. Takes a little while to get used to. But not that much.

Reasons for switching to Pushpay

We found this was better aligned with the growth of our church , and didn’t charge us such a high processing rate. More funds go directly to our organization.

Pushpay is an incredibly straightforward and easy to use church giving platform. Syncs well with Planning Center Online.

Cons:

Our church does not use Pushpay's customized church app feature or church management software because we found it lacking in comparison to competitor's products.

The cost and percentage PushPay received from donations was a draw-back for us; particularly as a Canadian user.
