Acquia is a headless CMS designed to help government organizations, nonprofits and businesses in healthcare, manufacturing, hospitality, education, media, financial services and other industries. It allows professionals to create, run, deliver and manage content across websites, mobile phones, native applications and smartwatches, among other channels on a Drupal-based platform.

Acquia allows organizations to store content in a centralized repository as a single source of truth to track documents or versions. It provides layered firewalls, multi-factor authentication and security event monitoring capabilities to protect data. Marketers can customize content by adding layouts, styles or web pages on a drag-and-drop interface. Additionally, administrators can configure role-based access permissions for designers, developers and agencies.

Acquia's preview and in-line editing enable marketers or designers to view and edit responsive layouts on various devices including laptops, mobile phones or tablets. White glove service for hosting Drupal

Overall security, and timely restoration of service in the event of a problem are most important. The vendor's ability to respond to requests and fix problems is second most important, this is linked with the need to reduce the burden on our resources. Acquia exceeds expectations in all these areas.

Platform and Infrastructure / Reliability and SLA are best in class. The technical support model results in a reduction in burden to our resources. Leader in industry reviews (Forrester / Gartner). Has all the compliance and certifications we require. Security for network, firewall, application layers and system updates and security patching support.

Cons:

Acquia has a high cost, at 100k annually. It's important to understand that the service replaces a FTE.

They provide everything you need for a Drupal installation, including some extras that aren't standard with the platform. We were able to launch quickly and efficiently.

Cons:

A few of the solutions seem overengineered, without a tiered approach that might be better suited for smaller businesses/projects. Or, conversely, you wind up having to pay for the full service before you're fully ready to embrace it.
