Deltek Vision is great!

The reporting features of timesheets and expense reports is streamlined and user friendly. I rely on its simplicity to minimize time spent on my administrative tasks as well as efficient company record keeping.

Pros:

It is a serious improvement from the Delek version we have previously used. Ease of use and better visuals are the highlights.

Cons:

All the issues I have had up until now has been based on user familiarity. Locating project codes and assigning to the correct headings was the issue.

It's a good tool to keep track of work-in-progress and everyday accounting transactions.

Cons:

It's not so user friendly and not so efficient and expensive tool for the same things that can be done with Sage software.

Good but here may be better....

My over all experience with Deltek is good. Rarely had any technical issues and it is capable of supporting a very large team and projects. It is just a bit basic for this generation.

Pros:

Deltek was great for time tracking and collaboration. Probably not my favorite time keeping application but it most definitely gets the job done.

Cons:

I didn't like the interface, it was hard on the eyes and not very user friendly. It reminded me of an old school system in look and in function.

Adequate, reliable. Not as user friendly as others

When using Vision, it was very adequate. However, now that I use Monograph, I see how much more capability Monograph has and how user friendly it is.

Pros:

It does its job. It's reliable. It has functionality especially for management and accounting departments. Overall, it's a solid program with proven results and a user base that reinforces trust.

Cons:

It's a bulky program compared to the web based program I use now. It wasn't compatible with some browsers so I had IE just for timesheets. User interface wasn't the most intuitive and customer service wasn't built in. Therefore I had to ask my accounting manager for her to contact customer service with questions.

Reasons for switching to Deltek Vision

Excel really isn't set up for the kind of workflow the office needed. Vision is much more catered to timetracking and accounting.

Vision to Vantagepoint

We were using Excel for timesheets so having time and expense in one place and tying into our business process is wonderful. We also have the ability to get nice reports.

We were told our company was too small for QB and it was recommended that we move to Great Plains. Took a minute but then moved to Deltek Vision in 2009

Deltek Vision, a Solid Program, but not Perfect

I used Deltek Vison for 10+ years for integrated work management for tasks ranging from project creation, resource allocation, resource management, and resource forecast to time sheet generation

Pros:

I liked the integration between each facet of the program. It reminds me of SAP in that information entered in one module is carried through to others.

Cons:

The interface in Deltek Vision is clunky. The functionality is there, but the refresh time is slow, and autofill options that you think would be automatic are not present. For instance navigating to a page does not automatically set your cursor to the first entry cell in the page.

I was a complete system. We could open opportunity, make it a project, use it enter time (Time-sheet), track invoicing & payment, apply leave and many more.

It was a bit older software. therefore, user interface some time looks older & not attractive.

Love it that all of our project, employee, expenses, time, purchasing, proposal, equipment, and CRM information is kept in one place. Custom reports are easy to build and allow us to report on just about anything entered into the System

Cons:

The app for the CRM Module isn't very user friendly. If it's not easy to use, people won't use it.
