Using Freelo daily expirience

5

After using this tool in our startup for a longer period, what I like most about it is that it’s been quite intuitive to use from the very beginning. I can always find a clear breakdown of roles and responsibilities. While it doesn’t allow for creating custom status workflows like Kanban columns, I’ve replaced that with an external solution. I did miss having a “dark mode,” because Freelo doesn’t offer any “custom themes” I could set up. A useful feature I often rely on is task comments—I don’t forget my own thoughts or those of others related to tasks. I also frequently tag my colleagues in the comments. On top of that, I often use the mobile app, which is really easy to understand, and it’s great that it’s ad-free, since ads are a big no-go for me. The biggest highlight for me would probably be the checklists, because they give me confidence that I’ve prepared everything I actually needed.

A simple yet effective tool for organizing work

5

Freelo is a great tool for managing to-do lists and organizing teamwork. It's simple yet effective, and it helps us stay up to date on everything happening in our team.

Pros:
The system is simple and easy to navigate. I appreciate that there are several levels for organizing tasks: projects, to-do lists, tasks, and sub-tasks. This hierarchy allows us to organize our work very well. I especially like the option to assign sub-tasks to different people with different deadlines. The calendar is also very useful.
Cons:
Overall, I don't have any major issues with Freelo. One thing that comes to mind, though, is the inability to rearrange the order of projects and to-do lists on my personal dashboard.

Free-lo yourself to become a process-driven organization!

5

I really appreciated the well-organized launch support, detailed help and wiki in English and Czech, and well-designed instructional videos. This really helped with planning and implementing the launch. The resources on project management and process organization were also useful. Part of the team slightly underestimated the need to devote time to changing the organization and planning of work, as it is a significant change.

Pros:
What I appreciated most about Freelo was that a product of this caliber is being developed in our region, with excellent support availability, a transparent changelog, and the opportunity to influence product development. I also appreciated the discount for our non-profit organization and the relatively intuitive user interface—in the past, I've used Trello, JIRA, Asana, and Basecamp.
Cons:
The names of projects, to-do lists, tasks, and subtasks are fixed, and given the number of contexts in which we implement projects, it would be helpful to have customizable terminology. Task sharing between projects, which is already quite good, could also be improved further. We look forward to more advanced resource planning, cross-project and multi-source budgeting.

Reasons for choosing Freelo

EU / Czech company Price model, discount for nonprofits Intuitive, easy learning curve Competitor to Asana, Basecamp, Trello, ClickUp Relevant references also with non-profits

Freelo is making chaos manageable

5

Freelo has been a very useful tool for our team of around 15 people. It helps us stay organized, coordinate tasks across teams, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. It’s intuitive, flexible, and easy to get started with, making it a valuable tool for managing a complex, international event.

Pros:
We really appreciate how Freelo keeps our team organized and transparent. It allows us to communicate easily both within and across different teams—programming, production, marketing, sponsorship, and more. The ability to assign tasks, track who is working on what, and filter tasks by team members or projects makes collaboration smooth. Video tutorials were also a great help when getting started.
Cons:
Although Freelo works perfectly for most tasks, its current interface is a bit too high-level for our intensive six-day festival program. We would greatly appreciate a more detailed interface or a timeline feature where all program-related information could be placed in one location and supplemented with additional details as needed. Something like a calendar from the To-Do list, but much more comprehensive and clearer than what is currently available. Perhaps we just haven’t discovered all of its possibilities and features yet.

-I'm not entirely happy with the fact that I have to search a lot and when I need to find a specific thing, it takes more time than I would like.
