Using Freelo daily expirience

5

After using this tool in our startup for a longer period, what I like most about it is that it’s been quite intuitive to use from the very beginning. I can always find a clear breakdown of roles and responsibilities. While it doesn’t allow for creating custom status workflows like Kanban columns, I’ve replaced that with an external solution. I did miss having a “dark mode,” because Freelo doesn’t offer any “custom themes” I could set up. A useful feature I often rely on is task comments—I don’t forget my own thoughts or those of others related to tasks. I also frequently tag my colleagues in the comments. On top of that, I often use the mobile app, which is really easy to understand, and it’s great that it’s ad-free, since ads are a big no-go for me. The biggest highlight for me would probably be the checklists, because they give me confidence that I’ve prepared everything I actually needed.

No tasks get lost anymore

5

Freelo helps me keep track of all ongoing projects and also lets me capture ideas for the future so they don’t get lost. We use it to run meetings – I prepare the agenda in Freelo, we go through everything during the meeting, and assign tasks right away. We also use Freelo to document recurring processes in our organization. This gives me the confidence that I can easily be substituted when needed and hand over parts of my agenda to someone else. All project steps can be recorded in Freelo in a very clear way. The built-in chat is also great – everything related to a topic is discussed neatly in one place.

Pros:
Freelo really helps me organize my work. Thanks to it, I have an overview of all the tasks assigned to me across different platforms, as well as those I assign to my teams. No task gets lost anymore. Freelo offers a lot of interesting features – I’m still discovering new possibilities and haven’t explored them all yet. I really appreciate the excellent support and the continuous development of the product.
Cons:
There’s nothing that really bothers me. If I could improve one thing, it would be the ability to assign a single task to multiple users – for situations where the same task needs to be handled by several teams. Whenever I’ve come across a problem or needed help with something, Freelo’s support has responded professionally and very quickly.

Reasons for switching to Freelo

Previously, we primarily used Google Workspace. However, some features, such as task management, were becoming insufficient for our team. It's great to be able to connect both tools.

Great project management and collaboration tool

5

Freelo has significantly improved our workflow and communication. We’ve replaced cluttered internal emails and scattered docs with a centralized, transparent system. With great support, flexible task views, and powerful tracking, Freelo is an excellent tool for small–mid businesses or nonprofits looking to boost collaboration and productivity.

Pros:
Intuitive and clean interface that makes it easy for teams to adapt and stay organized. Excellent support and onboarding—Freelo’s team is responsive, with helpful guides and webinars that smoothed our transition
Cons:
Occasionally slow loading of large attachments, but this is a minor issue compared to the overall benefits

Reasons for choosing Freelo

We chose Freelo over alternatives because of its excellent balance between functionality and simplicity. Unlike some tools that feel overwhelming or too generic, Freelo is tailored for real team collaboration—with features like task dependencies, time tracking, and project templates—yet it remains very intuitive. The local support, transparent pricing, and the ability to start working productively almost immediately also played a big role in our decision. It simply fit our workflow better than the rest.

A great tool for event managers

5

For a long time, we in the team were looking for a suitable tool to manage our events. We organize conferences and fairs. We switched to Freelo and it helped us keep a great overview of tasks and simplified communication in our team. Overall, we use Freelo every day and currently can't imagine working without it. I think every event manager should use Freelo because it simplifies his work when planning his events - whether it's small events, workshops, full-day conferences or fairs for 5000 people.

Pros:
We use Freelo for organizing events, it's a great tool for event managers. We prefer: - mobile application and notification of deadlines (the application notifies us of deadlines and new comments and activity in tasks) - overviews of tasks and the possibility of filtering overviews (maintains an overview of deadlines and work in the team and on tasks where the deadline is approaching) - task templates for repetitive tasks (simplifies work when we do some tasks repeatedly, so we can prepare a template that we duplicate) - notes and wiki (possibility to make notes on events and give important information for the whole team) - for each task, the possibility of discussion in the thread (removes unnecessary communication in the chat in the team) - for each task, the possibility to link related tasks (possibility of links between tasks)
Cons:
Overall, Freelo suits us perfectly for our work. The only thing that I initially thought was a disadvantage is that in the Freelo application you cannot assign multiple solvers to one task. However, after working with Freelo for a longer time, I found out that it is such a great feature - because only one person in the team must be responsible for one task at a time (he has the responsibility to solve it) and if the task concerns other people in the team, then in the application Freelo set up more followers. So this work-flow helps us with the right principles of project management = one task = one responsible person. (if the task is solved by several people in the team, more followers can be set). Overall, this helps us to keep the responsibilities in the team right.

Reasons for choosing Freelo

Before switching to Freelo, we were using Trello and considered whether to stay with it, but the list of things Trello can't do motivated us to switch to Freelo. In retrospect, we evaluate this decision as correct and it helped us a lot for better work-flow and clarity in the team. The main reasons for the switch were: - the possibility to make task templates in Freelo and use them repeatedly - clearer and more customizable work-flow - the ability to filter task overviews - clearer communication and discussion in the task thread in Freelo - the ability to record the screen and send screen samples or voice messages to people in the team - the ability to create wikis and notes - possibility to track the time of tasks - better notifications thanks to the application - Freelo is designed for better project management

Reasons for switching to Freelo

We used the Trello app before switching to Freelo. Trello was not suitable for our workflow. For us as event managers, Freelo offers us better control over the workflow and greater clarity. As we organize more conferences, we can keep track of tasks. Freelo also helps us simplify our work and we can create task templates for our events, which is a key feature for us as we do many tasks repeatedly with each conference. What we like about Freelo is that it has all the features in one app. Here we have tasks, wikis, documents, reports, we can track our time and we can also communicate in Frello. We used Slack for team communication, which we were able to stop using thanks to Freelo. Because all discussions can be clearly solved in Freelo for specific tasks, so it will replace unnecessary communication in another application. This simplified our overall work-flow.

Pros:
Freelo helps us keep and manage our projects, tasks, resources and dates in one place. It´s super friendly and has great support (webinars, articles, videos).
Cons:
It´s not that much about Freelo, but it took time to load it with information on the beginning. Also some people had issues to start use it.

Reasons for choosing Freelo

We had Google Workspace already, but it's not possible to use it as a project/process management tool. We tried Trello, but we decided to go for Freelo. Features are very similar, but they have better support.
