We love that the free platform version gives us all the necessary tools we need to manage our donor database. The integration to our website is seamless, and the reports we can pull are very helpful.

Cons:

We have the free version so we don't receive all the event management tools that we'd like to have access to.

The Team at Funraise is Ready to Help!

Overall, Funraise has been a great tool for our non-profit. It's been easy for our donors to use quick pay options like Apple Pay, Venmo, and PayPal. For our team, it has been insightful to have all these reporting options.

Pros:

The team at Funraise is so on top of it. If you have a question about how to do something on the platform, they are very quick to respond to your request and will even send you a video tutorial or schedule a Zoom call to walk you through it. I really appreciate the fast and thorough response!

Cons:

The intelligence side of Funraise is so specific and adept at pulling reports that it can sometimes be challenging to determine how to retrieve the exact report you're looking for. Their team is always quick to help walk you through it so you can effectively (and quickly) pull the reports you need.

Reasons for switching to Funraise

We wanted a product that was especially more donor-friendly (quick pay options - like apple pay, venmo, paypal, etc.)

Pros:

It is really hard to say what I like most given I have had an absolutely awful experience with the customer service. The software is as good as most others.

Cons:

Our non-profit suffered the loss of my grandson in 2022 at 7 years old leaving our Board in rough emotional condition. In 2024, after receiving a huge charge because we did not process enough donations in the year, we contacted Funraise and cancelled. I just received the same huge charge even though we have not fundraised or received funds for over 2 years. Funraise responded that I cancelled 3 weeks after the new year started in October 2024 therefore I was responsible for the entire year 9/24 - 9/25.

Reasons for switching to Funraise

Pitch at Conference and initial meeting made software appear to be most effective at the time. It was before we lost my grandson Kaiden - Fighting for Kaiden Foundation

Growing Together Since 2017

Overall, our experience has been excellent! Funraise consistently welcomes feedback and enhances its product in meaningful ways. We primarily use Funraise for secure online payments with a mobile-friendly interface, automatic generation of receipts, and hosting campaigns with a fundraising goal and progress/status bar. This platform allows us to fundraise responsibly without a development team, but if we had one, we would be unstoppable. Here’s to raising enough funds to grow our team and reach even more impact. Funraise remains a reliable, evolving partner in our fundraising work, helping us achieve more while supporting the nonprofit sector as a whole.

We’ve been with Funraise since 2017 and have truly grown alongside the company. It’s clear Funraise was built by people who understand the nonprofit world and genuinely want to see the sector thrive — including small organizations like ours. Our success managers have always been attentive, thoughtful, and eager to share new and creative ideas. The peer-to-peer platform is seamless, and supporters of all ages and abilities can easily interact with it.

Cons:

While Funraise is constantly improving, some of the newer features take a little time to fully explore and integrate into our workflow. That said, the team is always responsive and helpful in guiding us through updates.

We have been using Funraise for over 7 years and are so grateful we chose them when we did! After sitting through demo after demo, it was clear Funraise was an innovative startup looking to serve their nonprofit clients in the best possible way and had a clean user experience. They have continued launching new and helpful features, like relationship tracking, annual reporting, texting to donors within Funraise, AI giving suggestions, and more! Not only is this a great donor management CRM software, but the team is incredible if you ever need support. They deeply care about their customers as well as building the nonprofit community. We can't say enough good things about them!

Cons:

The only thing that really makes it challenging is being able to log checks that we get each month as recurring gifts in the system. We've found work-arounds for it, but it requires more manual tracking than desired. There's no perfect software out there, but Funraise is pretty dang close! The Intelligence Software has a steep learning curve but is incredibly powerful to use.

I could tell the company was led by an innovator who seemed committed to excellence and growth. I took a bet on that and it paid off! I am so grateful we are with Funraise and haven't had to switch softwares in over 7 years!!!

It did not let me select the correct names of products here, so please know the GoFundMe Pro is not accurate but I couldn't finish the form without putting something. We were looking for a tool that didn't cause more work for us and made our headaches go away. Funraise solved most of our issues and we love the team!

Wonderful Online Platform

"Funraise has been a great online platform for our organization. The system is easy to use, and their support team is always quick to answer any questions—both through chat and direct support. Their responsiveness and helpfulness make a big difference. I’m happy to recommend Funraise!"

Pros:

What I like most about Funraise is how easy it was to learn and start using. It made our special event ticket sales simple to manage, and I love that I can quickly print a ticket list for check-in or easily check guests off directly from the list. The online training videos were also extremely helpful and made the setup process smooth. Funraise has truly streamlined our event and donation workflow.

Cons:

Funraise has a great dashboard that provides a helpful snapshot of our fundraising—donations raised, number of donors, new donors, new recurring donors for the last 7, 30, and 90 days, along with useful pie charts, yearly performance data, and LYBUNT retention information. The only thing I wish Funraise offered is the ability to export the donor names and details displayed on the dashboard. Having an export option would make it even more valuable for analysis and reporting.

The simplicity in data management and set up of forms and campaigns to be able to run smoothly and easy enough for anyone to use.

Cons:

There are a few functions that we need that are not available and sometimes have to do work arounds. But its not too bad as there is an amazing team to help build things out.

We use it as our central fundraising hub, covering CRM and donor giving, Giving Tuesday, event-based fundraising, peer-to-peer campaigns, and year-end appeals. Funraise has become a critical part of how the Bahati Foundation raises funds to scale our youth cycling programs. Hands down, Funraise has played a key role in helping us grow, engage, and communicate with our supporters while staying organized financially. The available integrations and platform-agnostic giving forms allow us to place a donate button everywhere it makes sense, which has significantly improved accessibility and conversion. We especially value how intuitive the donor experience is; supporters can give quickly, easily share campaigns, and feel connected to our mission without friction.

Cons:

Funraise is a very tech-forward platform, which is a strength, but organizations that rely heavily on in-person fundraising may need to supplement it with additional workflows. Expanding or enhancing mobile, on-the-spot donation capture within the app would be especially helpful for live events and community activations. This would make it even easier to meet donors where they are and streamline in-person giving.

Great customer service

[sensitive content hidden] has been phenomenal. He contacted me after reaching out to the online service help desk. In a quick short 10-15 call and another 15 min zoom call, he helped solve ALL my problems that we've been trying to figure out for months. Extremely friendly and helpful! I appreciated his kindness and time.

Quick and easy tool to organize and capture our historical giving to our school. We have used this software for the last 7 years and have enjoyed the customer service whenever we need to troubleshoot further into reporting. This software has also been very affordable for our budget, too.

Cons:

We were not aware of the "soft credit" tool that we just discovered with customer service. This would have been helpful to understand this with our first roll out of the product (and maybe we missed it and could have been our fault, too)
