Sunbird DCIM is a cloud-based IT asset management and data center infrastructure management (DCIM) solution for businesses of all sizes. It serves various industries, including healthcare, finance, industrial, technology and utilities. Core users of the software are IT professionals and data center facility managers. The key features of Sunbird DCIM are asset, capacity, connectivity, change, energy and environmental management.

Sunbird DCIM allows customers to manage their data centers with attention paid to constantly changing business needs. It provides data center optimization that also increases the lifecycle of physical assets.

The asset management module provides a real-time view of the components of the data center, which can include servers, storage, patch panels and networking equipment. Features, data and asset management is easy to use and when you have an issue your calling the leaders of the industry. Support is crucial to resolving any issues right away, not 5 to 10 days like others.

Cons:

Reports could be a little more detailed in my opinion.

Sunbird has made a DCIM tool that is easy to use!

The product is VERY easy to start using. The Support help has been amazing. Prompt, patient and very helpful towards resolving any issue.

The tools logical ease of use and speed is very refreshing.

Cons:

Licences being used for essentially pictures. To Sunbirds credit they are very willing to investigate being able implement something in a later release to resolve this. They were also very helpful in finding alternative methods to achieve what I wanted to.

Sunbirds offering was a far more user fiendly product while being comprehensive on what it offered. The support team was also far more responsive.

Trellis was a very frustrating product to use and the updates recieved made the product worse.

Pros:

The asset tracking, visualization, and power/temperature monitoring are the biggest features we need. My favorite thing about the product/company is how accessible management is to escalate issues and the support organization. You work with the customer and that sells the product to me.

Cons:

We utilize tap cassettes at both data centers for our Corning patch panels. It would be awesome if we could trace both connections out of the tap cassettes, but that feature hasn't been integrated yet.

#1 DCIM on the planet

I'm a lifer at this point. A thought that I had that may be of use would be to add some calculators to your website to drive additional traffic. Over the decades, I've very frequently used the various calculators on this site for many projects: [sensitive content hidden] I've also recently come across these calculators, which look to be extremely useful: [sensitive content hidden] I know it's not Sunbird's "usual" website traffic, but I also know that DC operators need these tools to make decisions, and perhaps hosting these types of tools would drive more traffic, and drive better engagement with and between your customers.

Pros:

That's a difficult question, but I think pragmatically the asset management feature so that I know where my stuff is. So many features have been added over the years, but the original core asset manager is the most useful, and honestly indispensable for DC operators.

Cons:

I know the product is not a BMS solution and likely never will be, but better integration with facilities items, including greater event handling and power info from HVAC and other facility items, would be a holy grail for me. Understanding the total health of my critical infrastructure, including events, statuses and equipment failures, from the floor map would be the "single pane of glass" that most DC operators are looking for.

Great troubleshooting

Great troubleshooting. Tech did not just provide a resolution. He helped walkthrough and explain the process on how to resolve the issues if it occurred with other assets.

Great Product!

As a manager of two Data Centers, my experience with Sunbird and their team of professionals has been nothing short of amazing. I would have been kicking myself had I pursed a replacement product!

Sunbird DCIM is definitely a leader in this space. Their product fits our enterprise very well. Service and Support are both excellent and willing to go the extra step to make issues are addressed.
