About Sophos Email

Sophos Email is a cloud-based solution that helps organizations establish secure email networks and provide protection against intrusion, unauthorized access, malware, and other threats. The platform allows businesses to define custom policies for multiple groups, domains, and users to block or quarantine suspicious emails.

The anti-ransomware technology in Sophos Email utilizes behavioural analytics to stop ransomware and boot-record attacks. The software includes secure email imboxes, which automatically analyzes email headers, display names and lookalike domains and authenticate data using DKIM, SPF and DMARC technology. Additionally, it offers a variety of features such as compliance management, IP reputation filtering, compromised mailbox detection, blocklists, anti-spam engine and more.

Sophos Email supports integration with numerous email servers and third-party applications like Microsoft 365, Exchange 2003, Google Workspace and more. Pricing details are available on request and support is provided via email, community and other online measures.

Extra protection from email in and out

Filtered email both inbound and outbound. Extra security is always good

Pros:

Simple to setup. Since it uses an API the setup is very easy w/ O365. Not much comes through that shouldn't.

Cons:

Some of the policies could be easier. Creating allow and block lists for company wide could be easier too.

Fundamental tool for email protection

My experience in general terms has been very good, a great solution in which I have been able to increase the security of my domain in terms of fraudulent email and malware.

Pros:

ease of use, very intuitive, practical and at the same time a very robust solution. Many options to customize the filters and actions to take with the emails.A single console is used in the cloud where you can also manage other solutions from this same vendor such as XG firewalls, Access Points, antivirus, etc.

Cons:

The reporting is the weak point in my view, very generalized and granular reports cannot be obtained with a higher level of detail regarding the actions taken with different domains or senders.

Great Email Gateway for the money

We love Sophos products and have had great experiences with the platform as a whole. When using multiple products, the single pane of glass visibility is important.

Pros:

Email gateway is relatively easy to use. tabs are straightforward and easy train new techs with.

Cons:

As with all email gateways, consistently evolving based on business usage and making sure that legitimate emails are not quarantined. nothing specific to Sophos necessarily, just email management in general.
