About Bitdefender GravityZone

Bitdefender GravityZone is a cloud-based solution that helps businesses protect physical workstations against various cyber threats including data breaches, ransomware, phishing and more. Key features include patch management, mobile support, antivirus protection, and native device encryption.

Using anti-malware and anti-spam capabilities, teams can manage the security of Microsoft Exchange mail servers through Control Center console. Bitdefender. Set it and forget it.

As an IT Admin, I am responsible for keeping 5 servers, 50 computers and 40 iOS devices, and everyone's software running. We use Salesforce, and administering that is a full time job in itself. While I am doing my part saving the world, Bitdefender has my back, protecting my MacBookPro. I'm Captain Steve Rogers, Bitdefender is my vibranium shield.

Pros:

Bitdefender constantly runs in the background. I set it up and just let it run. If something iffy happens, it lets me know. The best part is the confidence that I don't have to babysit protecting my data.

Cons:

Monthly billing. Annual is probably available. I need to change to that if possible. The cost is minimal, so a longer billing interval would be painless for the one license I currently need.

Reasons for choosing Bitdefender GravityZone

I use Atera to administer my flock of servers and endpoints. Bitdefender was offered in conjunction with that tool.

Pros:

Easy to set up for small, medium or big teams. Decent dashboard for team management. Cost effective subscription plans.

Cons:

With Bitdefender, it is quite easy to mix multiple subscriptions in the reports and UI. For example personal and work subscriptions can be easily mixed up.

Great product for small business offices.

This is a great product at a great price point per agent, that covers all aspects of protection. its neat, and simple, and not over blown and complicated.

Ease of administration, reporting, strength of product effectiveness, Covers al aspects of security and is fully customizable

Cons:

The online web interface is a little cumbersome to navigate in layout. It would also be nice if all the agents could be locally administered from a console on a server or admin PC.

Eset 6 was a disaster at release, and its central administration console was completely changed from the previous version, and became complicated and troublesome to use.

I like that it's never let a threat overcome any endpoint.

Cons:

The management of the software, protection profiles and other settings is somewhat confusing. The terms used in the dashboard area are sometimes confusing and could use some better explanation in the help area.

ESET was too aggressive so it generated false positives and required a lot of "maintenance time" to whitelist known good apps.

Webroot SecureAnywhere would literally not uninstall. It was a nightmare to jump through all the troubleshooting hoops to get the software off of workstations.

Bitdefender The perfect Endpoint security solution

Good Antivirus package for smaller organizations

Experience has been mostly positive from an administrative standpoint. Complaints about all AV vendors and some of their updates give us grief when running during business hours, but all-in-all it catches most of what's out there which is the point.

Pros:

GravityZone is easy to install and manage for our organization. Scans are relatively quick and CPU usage is fairly low.

Cons:

LIcensing for the product doesn't fit our environment well since we have a lot of servers and very few workstations. For this product they want it limited to the number of servers per workstation.

Pros:

I like bitdefender because the price is fair as compared to other anti-virus programs. and it use very little resources making your computer run a bit better. It use very little RAM memory, leaving you the rest to use for more memory intensive programs

Good At Getting The Job Done, room for improvement

We purchased this for EDR, AV, etc. It worked fine. We could initiate scans, but it seems like turn on EDR sensor really killed it for us. CPU spiked and because almost unuseable. This was across Windows and Mac.

Integrates with our SIEM. During testing, stopped all the malware I intentionally wrote and downloaded. Good to initiate scans remotely, etc

Cons:

I was sold on web filtering, but I'm not seeing that in the product anywhere. It might be an add-on, but I was under the impression that it was a core functionality. When we turned on EDR sensor, it spiked everyone's CPUs, so we had to turn on a key function. I didn't like that.
