About Forestree

Forestree is a cloud-based forestry software, designed to help local governments find planting site locations, view plant diversity information, track species insights, schedule forest inspections, and more. It lets employees create profiles for trees with information such as age, health status, height, useful life expectancy (ULE), risk levels, canopy details, and more.

With Forestree, government officials can assign work orders to contractors, manage user attributes, and add newly planted trees’ information to the database. It lets administrators plan yearly planting seasons and generate species insights as well as plant diversity reports. Additionally, Forestree enables staff members to track upcoming inspections, access urban forest data, view inspection history, and track tree location in real-time.

Forestree offers an API that helps organizations integrate the platform with third-party software such as Pathway, TechnologyOne, and PowerBI. Pricing is available on request and support is extended via email, chat, and other measures.

Super powerful yet simple to use

Tree assessment and management are simple with forestree, knowing what is happening in real time rather than long lag times has been fantastic

Pros:

This software has been designed specifically for the user, allowing ease of field use & intuitive assistance. Highly specialised software skills are not required for those in the field. At the back end and for the administrators/tree managers, the software provides great outputs and insights with the delivery of urban forest metrics and easy management of works required for contractors and inhouse staff.

Cons:

The software works very well, there has been a lot of consideration regarding its development. Perhaps in the future, it can be developed into a standalone app.

Easy of navigating through each new added tree, would be great to have an EDIT option on each tree to modify entry notes.

Multiple choice selection. Target's the outcome desired. Step by step approach in implementing programmed works

Need for an 'EDIT' option to correct/amend/change any information that may have been missed of an correction needs to be done to update.

Very simple for field staff to use and update tree data

Cons:

There hasn't been an issue that cant be resolved. Any extra feature we have needed has been implemented or is in the process of being actioned

For today and beyond

Forestree allows us to monitor all our tree assets specific to arboricultural requirements. Inspections and works are easily scheduled, risk is monitored, planting lists are generated, stumps are automatically created, and watering is monitored, tailored to our requirements. Overall an excellent product.

As an organisation we looked long and hard at the different systems being used in other Local Government Municipalities and it became very clear/obvious early on, that Forestree was easy to use. It is a credit to the developers of Forestree as to how flexible and accommodating they are working with both our IT department and arboriculture staff to achieve and meet our specific requirements. The system is constantly evolving and as it currently exists today is only the beginning of what it will become in the future.

Cons:

At this point in time any issues that were identified have been auctioned and fixed or are in the process of being addressed. To comment any further would be disingenuous.

Manage your trees AND urban forest

As an external consulting arborists engaged by various local governments to assess their tree assets, i find Forestree very useful for capturing mass data efficiently. No report writing necessary - data is captured live. The platform could also be used to gather more detailed inspection notes and work recommendations on challenging/complex trees. To assist in this process, some adjustments could be made to create larger fields (more characters) for inspection notes and work notes. Then the ability to produce individual reports on these trees would help council staff in discussing the job with team members, managers and decision makers. It also helps if an individual tree requires planning consent for recommended works to take place.

Easy to use. Quick. Good map interface when inspecting trees.

Cons:

Limited character space when entering detailed inspection notes and work notes. Not all trees required detailed nots, but some trees do. Unable to add species names when in the field. Unable to generate individual tree reports when detailed assessments carried out. Significant tree should be called regulated tree. Variable use of terms between different Local Governments.

Its likely your access as a contractor is limited by your client (maybe have a chat with them about increasing your permission so you can add species in the field and generate reports. A++ for Forestree

It is hard to imagine managing large sets of tree asset data without Forestree. This is a testament to the brilliance of the software and its designers.

Forestree is a live mobile data platform that allows access to tree related information from planting and watering to removals and all works in between. It is easy to used, provides seamless access to tree related data and manages all related work. System support and software improvement has been second to none.

Cons:

It is hard to fault Forestree in the management of tree assets.

Tree management, team management

Forestree has improved my workplace systems, and the efficiency in managing several different teams work , from planting, watering, special projects to general pruning works, the teams have all taken this software on with ease including contractors. I could not imagine going on about my daily duties without having Forestree, it has made tree management a pleasure.

The easy of use, rolling this out to the teams, new employees and contractors, this is easily picked up with all users in my experience. The information this captures and collects is also impressive, along with scheduling inspections, and assigned works this product is extremely helpful. Forestree has dramatically improved efficiency in my work group With not only tree management but team management also. I found the watering page, planting page and projects equally impressive in regards to how easily it has improved workplace systems.

Cons:

I am yet to be disappointed by this software

Forestree to save the day

The Forestree package has brought a new level of professionalism to urban forest management. I am unsure how I ever managed to carry out Arboricultural works without it. An essential tool.

The more the program is used, the more powerful it tends to become. The ease of use also makes it a pleasurable experience with flow brought to all aspects of the system.

Cons:

tough one. The things I like least are yet to jump out with nothing but a positive experience so far.

Easy to navigate program which allows users with little tech knowledge to even use. Streamlines work being allocated. Can monitor works being completed from your desk. Clear and precise with great dashboard. Few clicks and you can find out a lot of info on the assets that have been captured.

Cons:

None Should have mentioned this is the pros but it is always has improvements added even when you think it needs none.

Reasons for switching to Forestree

Was in the market for a software package but others used didn’t tick all the boxes. This was the one for us for reasons listed earlier.
