Great reservation system for small B&Bs

Wonderful! A friendly helpful voice when you need technical support is priceless. At no time did they talk over our heads when it came to technical issues. I really like that they can explain things on all levels.

For a small B&B this is a great product, reasonable priced and fairly easy to use- i really like the great customer support in the initial set up and when we had questions, we got all the answers we needed with friendly help.
Cons:
The basic system is missing a few options that we would have liked to have, that seemed basic to us, (extra person cost, single person cost )but the premium system had way more features than we needed and was much more costly being in USD when we are CDN dollars. Thankfully, they set up this option for us at N/C as it was the only premium feature we were interested in and i very much appreciate them for doing so

Webervations went away. Several of us in our B&B association were researching a new affordable system that met our needs. Several different systems contacted us but they were very expensive. AO came recommended from our of our colleagues as did a couple of other systems. We all agreed that having customer support available to call was a key factor, next to affordability. AO met our needs and because it was similiar to Webervations it seemed like an easy switch and it was.

A simplified no frills reservation software. Excellent for small B&Bs and Inns. If you have under 8 rooms this is the product for your business. Don't need to keep track of multitudes? This is perfect for you. No need to provide 'reports' to see how your business is doing or print schedules then this is the system. A basic work horse that so many of us need for our success. The bells and whistles are kept to a minimum unless you want to activate those. You have control over your system; it doesn't control you.
Cons:
Integration with the now defunct Webervations was easy. Upgrades are easy. My fear is a Monster company is going to buy out this product and it will disappear from the market making us little people purchase something as a substitute that is over complicated and useless.

The email notifications are clear with all information needed to make the reservation.
Cons:
As above. This software is very time consuming and not very clear and there is zero guidance and customer service when you need help. I called on a weekend and was told that the person to help is only in the office mon-fri which is useless when people stay in hotels 7 days a week.

Hi Emily, I'm sorry you were not happy with our service. In reviewing logs over the last several years it appears we responded to the Courthouse Inn emails within 24 hours. The reason it took so long to return emails, in most cases, was because you are in a different time zone than us. This did delay some email replies until the next day, vs. the normal same day response. In regards to your phone call, I apologize you were told by our answering service that we don't work weekends. As a small company, with 3 employees, there are only two of us who handle support, so we do not have a person in the office 24 x 7. However, one of us is always available on weekends and holidays if you need emergency support. I'm again sorry that our service did not work out for you.

From the first day I used the program I was so elated to realize that my guests would actually do 95% of my work when reserving their room. Availability not only notifies me that I have a reservation waiting via email but automatically populates the guest information fields for me. My guest can select their own room, know that their visit dates are available and contact me via email. I have gotten many of my reservations outside of normal office times and can pick them up the next day. I have also gotten phone reservations from my guests telling me the date and room they want because they already saw the information on Availability website. All in all, the program is easy to use, the consumer service help is always available and the the computer questions answered immediately. If you want some extra time and less hestle in your work day, this company is a MUST try.
Cons:
Having to remember to update my room rates every January.

The [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] of availability actually came to my home, described the program, set up the program for me and gave my a three month trial. In actuality, I signed up after my first guest reservation a room that day. That was how excited I was to experience the ease of this product.

Pros:
It was very easy to transition to and use! We can make changes when needed quickly and the customer support provided is usually fairly quick to resolve issues and answer questions.
Cons:
Occasionally there have been a few glitches, but nothing too major. My biggest recommendation would be to show the "Unit Requested" in the Reservation pick-up list. Also, some more ways to search for archived reservations would be nice...for instance, the ability to search by customer name perhaps?

Reasons for choosing Availability Online

I liked the flat yearly fee so that I knew what my costs were up front. I also like that they do not charge percentage based fees. I did not want to go under a large booking engine such as AirBnB, but still offer the ease of checking availability online for potential guests that these bigger companies offer. Availability Online allows me to operate on my own and greatly aids in the checking availability process for guests and the reservation making process for us!

RezTracker was no longer an option to use.

Fits the needs of our small motel operation

There are just some people (the younger generation) that prefer to do everything online or book through their smart phones without actually calling to book a room. This software has generated business from those wanting to use an online tool to book. I am super pleased at the pricing for this tool and am happy overall with our decision to use AO for our online bookings.

Pros:
The software functions independently of our reservation software, which I actually like. While it is a bit more hands on it does give me total control over room booking. The couple of times I needed assistance from tech support, they were super friendly, understood our problem and fixed it quickly. I am not very "tech savvy" but I am able to navigate the administration tools effectively.
Cons:
I would like to see a redesign of the calendars used for "future dates" that a possible guest can search. Right now I believe the most it will show is 14 days. I would like to see full months or several months that guests can see.

Very Happy with Availability Online

Guests are happy with seeing availability and booking online. I am also glad to now be able to get a text message when someone books so I can respond in a timely manner.

The software is very user friendly. It was easy to learn and is easy to use as I started with online bookings. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has helped me add/change items as I have become more proficient with online bookings. Her response time is great and it is nice to know I can reach her with questions quite easily. Recently I was able to sync my calendar when blocking off Availability Online, it also blocked my other Online Booking Programs. It was a big help not having to remember to open up the other sites every time. It would be nice to have the calendar sync both ways but I am happy now with at least one way. Guests also find it easy to use and are comfortable with giving credit card information on the secure site. I also was happy to know I could add items as extras though I have not had time to actually do. The price is also very reasonable. We are a seasonal business and I prefer not to lock into a monthly rate as with other platforms.
Cons:
I would like to be able to enter a nightly rate and a weekly discount for a weekly rate as I am able in VRBO and Airbnb. It would be super nice to incorporate payment through the site with adjusted rates and taxes built in.

Availability online is easy to use for everyone including those who are technologically challenged. The software easily integrated with my web site. I am a small business in the lodging and resort category with cabins, vacation rentals and an RV park. For all small businesses like mine Availability Online is a real bargain! Another plus is how quickly they resolve any problems (of which there are few). Should you have a need to call them, your call will be answered by a REAL person. That is a super plus. I have been with Availability online for many years as we have grown from a handful of cabins to 26 units and 21 RV spaces. If you are a small business considering reservation software, don't hesitate to check Availability Online out!
Cons:
Can't think of anything. If I had not been completely happy with the software, I would have switched.

Pros:
I like that I don't have to pay big bucks for a system that has bells and whistles that I don't need or use. I have used this system for my bed and breakfast which I have since sold and for my wine tour business. All I want and need is a secure booking system that my guests can use. I am super impressed with the immediate response from customer support the maybe three times in over 10 years that I have had to contact them.
Cons:
The only thing I don't like, and it's probably not applicable, is that I use it for my wine tour business and I can't change the "date of arrival" to "date of tour"

Reasons for switching to Availability Online

Webervations was being purchased but a company that offered a very expensive booking system with all kinds of bells and whistles that I would never use. I think it is/was called SuperInn.
