Hardware coordinator

Rentman checks most of the boxes for us. To be able to fit crewplanning, equipment inventory and planning, maintenance and repair. The list goes on for all the functions in this system!

Pros:

The system is constantly evolving with weekly updates and features added from inputs of the user base. The pricepoint is great for a system like this and very flexible in terms of different functions and users. To have unlimited free users is valuable for us with a lot of freelance users that need access. The support is outstanding! Answers quickly and always replies to feature requests or bug reports.

Cons:

Its not always simple to navigate and some functions can be hidden. Overall the system can feel a bit overengineered sometimes. For our usercase the system lacks in terms of tracking specific equipment and being able to book it by serial number.

Reasons for choosing Rentman

Pricing and flexibility. Crew planner and repair maintenance function was something others couldn´t meet.

We needed a proper inventory system to be able to have stock count and track equipment.

Rentman for small rental house

As warehouse manager of a rental house, Rentman has improved the work flow and made planning easier and more transparent. It's easy to see what's coming up and what issues might come with shortages and tight turnaround times. Implementation and learning curve has been mostly smooth and support is always prompt.

It's fast, easy to access and relatively easy to use. It makes the connection between project planning and inventory management more logical and, usually, smoother.

Cons:

There are a few work flows that are inherent in the program that doesn't fit our way of working, but nothing that can't be solved with easy workarounds.

was efficiency and visibility—it reduced back-and-forth, errors, and manual tracking, which is huge in fast-moving event and rental environments.

Great tool for projects!

Efficient and Essential for AV Logistics

I love how it unifies inventory, crew planning, and quoting into one system. The real-time equipment tracking prevents double bookings, and the QR code scanning feature saves us hours in the warehouse.

Cons:

The mobile app is a bit limited for administrative tasks compared to the desktop version. Also, the initial setup and learning curve can be steep for new users due to the many features available.

Full scale rental managing tool at an affordable price, even for small businesses.

Very positiv experience so far, now 4 years as a user and having our company rely on Rentman every day. We do not use all the functionalities in the system, mostly because we use it in a slightly different industry than what Rentmans most users are workring in. But also since our economy system in separate form Rentman with manual transfer between the system, and since we have had to do some workaround in order to adapt the system to the way our industry works locally in our country. Rentmans support team is outstanding. Always there to help with a very humble approach and always with very detailed descriptions of functions or features. Rentman has proven to be open to get feedback even from smaller businesses like myself, and to be wiling to add or develop features that would make our workdays easier.

The workflow. How it streamlines the way through a project covering everything from equipment, crew and transport scheduling and quoting, all the way to final invoicing for a project.

Cons:

Integration possibilities with separate accounting systems are limited. The product sales feature is a bit limited. Would like more flexibility in stock handling and having a better workflow for project types that are only for product sales. Integration with transport/courier services would mak things easier too.

Rentman great for crewing

It's been crucial to our crewing strategy. We are small production company. Often 4 events at different venues. Previously used spread sheet for crewing.

Pros:

I use the Rentman product for listing of projects and for crewing those projects. Rentman has streamlined our crewing process and allowed me to successfully meet our crew members needs

Cons:

lack of flexibility regarding changes in projects as well as changes in crew member availability. For instance if crew member accepts an assignment but later needs to drop the assignment. Rentman still shows the person as accepted the assignment.

I like that the day to day running of the company can be completed solely through Rentman. I don't need added Calanders or planners to manage the equipment, crew and vehicles

Cons:

The app can be quite limiting when on the road. I would like to be able to book a simple reminder or enter a basic job so when on the road I don't forget when returning to work to complete a full job entry. Probably a me issue but could be useful.

We liked that u were a web-based product and can log in anywhere. Hiretrack was a server-based product. they also didn't have any phone app that can be used for staff and to log gear in and out.
