Cons:
Honestly, there’s not much to complain about, but if I had to pick something, I’d say the reporting features could be a bit more customizable. The built-in reports are useful, but sometimes I wished I could tweak them more to fit exactly what I needed. Also, a couple of the integrations took a bit of effort to get set up just right. Nothing major—just a few things that could be a little smoother.

I’ve been a fan of Workable since I first used it as a recruiter back in 2022. Even then, I felt it was one of the best ATS platforms on the market — intuitive, efficient, and incredibly user-friendly. When I stepped into my current role as Head of Talent, tasked with building our recruitment function from the ground up, proposing Workable was a no-brainer. From a leadership perspective, I now see the full picture — cost, features, and long-term value — and Workable continues to deliver. What I liked most about Workable is its balance of simplicity and power. As a recruiter, it was incredibly user-friendly and easy to adopt. As a Head of Talent, I appreciate its scalability, cost-effectiveness, and how well it integrates with lean processes. The customer support is also exceptional — responsive and proactive, which makes a big difference when you’re moving fast in a startup environment.
Cons:
What I liked least about Workable is the limited customizability in its time tracking feature. It would be more efficient if we could assign specific activity types directly within the platform, rather than manually typing them into notes. Currently, all time entries appear as generic "time entry" labels, and we need to extract reports in Excel or CSV just to review the team’s activity blocks. A more streamlined, customizable time tracking interface would really enhance visibility and reporting.

Workable is extremely easy to use. The features built in are very self explanatory and the job boards are top notch.
Cons:
Everything seems to be coming at a price now. Workable started off as one of the most truly affordable ATS systems. They have not always been the first ATS to the table when introducing new functionality, but they seem to do a good job with it. However, they have been taking away portions of the product that were initially available, which comes off as greedy. Customer service is incredibly inflexible at times, which is quite frustrating for a company that has been with them for so long.

The new features being rolled out regularly show a real commitment to innovation. The system is incredibly easy to use, from posting job ads to managing candidate pipelines, everything feels seamless and well-organized. Security is another major strength. The platform gives us full confidence when handling sensitive candidate information. The interview scheduling is quick, efficient, and helps our team coordinate meetings effortlessly, even across different time zones. Customer support handles the inquiries in a reasonable time.
Cons:
The recently introduced AI-driven features show a lot of potential, but they could benefit from further development to enhance accuracy and contextual understanding - especially in candidate matching and automated recommendations. A bit more customization in how the AI adapts to different hiring styles or roles would make it even more powerful. Another opportunity lies in offering more cross-functional capabilities. At the moment, pipelines work well within individual departments, but having the option to integrate or share candidates and data across multiple pipelines would be a huge advantage for organizations with overlapping recruitment needs. This kind of flexibility would help teams collaborate more effectively and ensure talent isn’t siloed within one workflow.

The features, such as the ability to schedule interviews, the communication and the careers page, are excellent in helping keep candidates engaged throughout the process. The customer support is immediate, and it helps streamline our recruitment process so we can focus on the big things, like making the hire!

There's not much to say for this one - Workable is great! I wish that it had a background check service built in, but not many ATS's offer that yet!

We recently implemented Workable as our ATS at snuggs and are happy with the experience so far. What really stands out is the excellent support from their customer success team - always responsive and helpful. I used Workable a few years ago at a previous company, and I was positively surprised by how much the platform has evolved since then. A wide range of new features were added - that truly enhance the recruitment process: more automation options, detailed reportings, and video interviews. Overall, a great solution for fast-scaling teams. Highly recommend!
Cons:
There’s not much to dislike. One issue we had was that some system settings seemed to change without us realizing, which led to situations where candidates who withdrawn from the process still received automated rejection emails. However, once we flagged it, the customer support team was quick to help us resolve it. Aside from that, everything has been working really well.

Reasons for switching to Workable

BambooHR wasn’t meeting our needs when it came to recruiting. It’s a decent tool for HR and employee management, but the recruitment features were very limited and not built for a fast-moving hiring process. Workable, on the other hand, is designed specifically for recruiting - it offers more automation, better collaboration features, and in-depth reporting. It’s an improvement and has made our recruitment process more efficient.

Overall my experience has been a 10 out of 10 from the set up to using and sharing with others. It has saved me time especially with generating reports. The automatons have also saved me time as well. It has really leveled up my recruitment game.

It is so user friendly from sent up to using to sharing candidates with other team members and only sharing the jobs relevant to them. How easy it is to generate reports, the automatons, saving and snoozing candidates, how easy it is to manually upload a candidate and the system pulls everything from the resume to create the profile. The interviews run smoothly and if using assessments it add the assessment questions to your scorecard so helpful! The Ai profile overview, being able to ask the system questions and it will point you to multiple resources, our account manager has been super helpful and the set up process was very smooth. Cost is also very affordable compared to other competitors.
Cons:
One thing that I wish I could do was schedule rejections letters if I cancel the automated one. Sometimes that automated message take to long to send due to why its set up and weekends so I wish I could still send the rejection earlier then the system will but not at the second I generate it. Not sure if that makes sense.. The other thing that was odd was I could not add applicants in the system to the talent pool only new people so I created my own talent pool so I could track applicants I wanted to reach back out to.
