    Connectwise RMM Is a Pretty Useful Tool

    Me and my team have been using it for a long time. It works and the splashtop integration is pretty useful.

    Backstage is an insane feature. It helps me and my team in situations where users need help and cannot work with us.
    Cons:
    The automation portion of the platform is clunky and needs to be streamlined. If it worked more in blocks and less and had a test environment it would help.

    A Great RMM But Needs Some TLC

    Overall, I have loved the product and built some very powerful automations and use cases. Between the automations and reporting, I could cover most needs for an MSP servicing SMBs no problem.

    It is fairly straightforward and easy to use with a very modular design. It is also frequently getting updates. Once agents are deployed, you can quickly remote access devices. It is also easy to use the out of box monitors or create your own monitors and attach automations to them. The included BrightGauge subscription also makes reporting easy and highly customizable.
    Cons:
    Release dates on updates are often missed or changed. Certain important functions like running automations as the logged in user took a long time to develop. Support does not always understand the issue and escalating issues can be a pain without involving partner success managers.

    You completely ignore sales and marketing in RMM -- the platform can do so much more, and you choose to make it super technical as a platform -- guess what -- we need AI / we need automations, and we should have these in our packages and prepared for us to use and integrate monthly. We need a platform to operate our businesses, and we would pay more for one to do that and do it well. And this must include sales and marketing.

    Pros:
    I like the integrations, fresher GUI and I understand the roadmap to bring all modules together, but it lacks the automations easily deployed.
    Cons:
    I think CW is in a terrible position on releasing automations on ASIOS -- it puts you in direct competition with Rewst / PIA etc....all company's critical to your vendor revenues but I think it's simply rotten as a position. You have all of these scripts and don't share with subscribers of your very very expensive solution. Really? Come on man --- empower us and stop trying to play both sides.

    How easy and user friendly it was. You can intergrate this with anything! Fantastic all around product. You will not find anything better! We were able to intergrate over 4,000 customers easily into new ticketing systems. And improved our remote sessions. Agents can monitor customers from one easy screen.
    Cons:
    The time it took to get everything imported into the crm felt like it took longer than I wanted. However we were eager to use all the features we gained.

    Better than Sliced Toast.

    Since my husband passed away leaving me with the job of server monitoring I find this product indispensable. Prior to its use, if we identified a server issue we had to log into the troubled server. Since there are several servers, this process was not always reliable nor quick. Connectwise changed all that.

    We’ve been using ConnectWise RMM for years, and it has truly been a lifesaver for our IT team. When server issues arise, any one of our certified technicians can log in remotely and resolve problems, apply updates, or monitor processes with ease. It works nicely with our alert system, giving us peace of mind that issues are caught and handled quickly. I consider it “fingertip technology” — everything we need to keep servers running smoothly is right there. The benefits far outweigh the cost, and I’d recommend it to any IT department looking for a reliable remote management solution
    Cons:
    Cost, but it's not really bad at all. Perhaps come up with its own alert system that can tie into remote access, where the user selects what needs to be monitored.

    Good decision so far to migrate from Automate to CW RMM

    I'm happy with the move from Automate. There are pros and cons of course, but I think the simplicity and ease of use outweigh any cons so far.

    The ease of use and scripting capabilities is great. Integration with ScreenConnect and Axronis CyberProtect have been invaluable.
    Cons:
    Lack of integration with tools like EZDeploy and a poor integration to Liongard. I wish the Asio platform was more baked and better executed with integrations for Manage and CPQ.

    Good but need improvement

    Have had a lot of problems getting the software to register correctly. Sometimes I get my workstation to show up but when it connects the hostname is a previous host name that was used on this computer. For example SN02 gets removed and I wipe and re-install and name it SN35. When it gets registered it shows up as SN35 in the RMM but when you actually connect it then says SN35 and never works. Very frustrating! Sometimes it says waiting for host, but the host is up and working. I have to use RDP to connect to the workstation which works fine.

    The drag and drop support is the best I have seen in the products of this type over the years. I have not battle tested it but when I need to transfer a file it seems to work.
    Cons:
    On my mac it only supports switching between 2 monitors one at a time. The support on windows is much better allowing 2 windows one for each window. Don't understand why the support is inferior on the Mac side??

    Connectwise RMM is a great tool to manage all clients in one place and you can have policies set up to deploy and manage features on a client per client, or package basis. There is a lot of flexibility in what you can do and can make the platform do for you. Integrations with other tools are becoming a lot more widespread and it is now also offering vulnerability scanning and other features by default. Always good to keep an eye on the change logs as you might be pleasantly surprised.
    Cons:
    They have been going through a re-design and that is taking a very long time. While it is almost finished, the different portions of the portal showing different styles and options was confusing at times.

    We came over form N-Able and it was much better then ConnectWise. Easier to use and navigate. Better patching, AI, Automation, and end user access.

    Cons:
    Patching is antiquated and difficult to manage. End user access is difficult to manage and does not work well. Alerts are ok but could be improved.

    The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

    For the most part good, not great. It might be tempting to switch to another RMM product, but you just don't know if what it will be like until you are deep into it so I find myself trying to make CW RMM work as best as I can.

    It provides a single pane of glass much of my work with my clients and definitely makes it possible for a single person, like myself, to support a large number of endpoints.
    Cons:
    So often when a new feature is introduced it is not as feature complete as would make it truly useful. Often one ifs forced to find a workaround. Support is responsive, but I have some outstanding issues for more than a year which is unacceptable.
