About ClaimMaster

ClaimMaster is a Microsoft Word tool for patent professionals that helps with automated proofreading of patent application drafts and responses to USPTO Office Actions. ClaimMaster's patent proofreading tools help users draft consistent documents by identifying drafting errors and inconsistencies in claim numbers, claim amendments, antecedent basis, claim term support, inconsistent part numbering in specification and figures, use of limiting terms and patent profanities, and inconsistent acronym usage, and other types of issues. ClaimMaster also has many time-saving tools for automated drafting of patent application sections and figures, manipulating claim amendments, generating and filling-out Office action shells, IDS and other USPTO forms. Moreover, ClaimMaster includes numerous tools for downloading and mapping data from the USPTO and EPO: it can generate patent family trees and batch download PDFs and file histories of patents and patent applications.

Great tool for claim checking and using LLM to describe figures

A perfect ten. It's a useful tool and I like to have it handy while I work on Microsoft Word.

Pros:

I like that the tool is installed on my PC and is compatible with MS Word, so I don't have to log in all the time and worry about being spied on my activities. I've used CM for more than ten years, and my favorite feature is checking that the claims are correct. I also like the claim summary for responses to Office Action.

Cons:

Nothing in particular that I like least about CM

Great value. They keep the product updated with the machinations of the USPTO patentcenter site.

You're crazy if you don't use a bot like claimmaster

It's been a major factor in improving the quality of my USPTO submissions.

Pros:

It catches stuff. Running claim sets and application drafts through claimmaster is one of my essential quality checks.

Cons:

Defining patent terms can be difficult and often fails. Sometimes I want a string (including spaces) to absolutely be interpreted as a claimed element for antecedent basis checks. I enter it into claimmaster and, if I'm lucky, it works.

Pros:

It's a feature-rich product, so there will be some features that are real game changers even if you don't use everything on the menu. It's great for checking claims, drawings, numbering, etc.

Cons:

Some features are a little buggy, but the ClaimMaster team seems to be constantly improving the product over time.

The features are difficult to match in other products costing twice as much. It works well, and they add new features to keep it competitive.

Cons:

I don't really have any cons, although I look forward to more AI functionality cover time.

Fantastic Patent Prosecution Assistant

I've been a user of ClaimMaster since it initially came on the market. When I was at a large firm, I convinced it to buy multiple licenses and would insist that associates run reports through ClaimMaster before bringing me something to review.
