About Exponent Case Management
Exponent Case Management is a cloud-based solution that helps mid-to-large nonprofits and human service agencies drive radically better impact with outcomes management, client lifecycles, service planning and referral tracking. The solution provides a unified platform enabling users to automate data entry and connect data to results.
Primary features of the platform include a visual dashboard, child welfare management, document management, reporting and statistics, scheduling, time tracking, training management, goal-setting indicators and more. Additionally, it allows custom intake forms, assessment generation, case notes, service planning, baseline tracking, and reporting and analytics.
Exponent Case Management integrates with Outlook, allowing users to send communication along with configurable email alerts and one-click data exporting. Pricing of Exponent Case management is available on request and support is extended via phone, an online help desk and documentation.

We started with 3 programs and 5 services in 2013. We now have 9 programs twice as many services and have also built out ECM to serve external partner program and service data. We utilize their Referral object to track referrals to 41 specific community programs and even more organizations. Not only can we track our performance and our client's progress, but we can gain insights into the systems they struggle to navigate and take our learnings to government decision makers both locally and nationally.

They were already talking our language when it came to what we wanted to do with a case management system but also where we wanted to go in the future. Customization, tech support, and their experience as thought partners in the field of human services. The primary architect was himself once a Workforce coach. That shows in the design.

Take advantage of what ECM offers

Prior to marketing the ECM managed package, Exponent consulted for similiar organizations to create full customizations of Salesforce Nonprofit Starter Pack (NPSP). We were one of the first organizations to sign on for the managed package, and transitioning from maintaining our own custom SQL Server database application for more than 15 years, we sought, insisted on and spent time and money on more customization than was good for us. As the package became more fully realized, we found ourselves stuck behind the curve, unable to impement improved and expanded features that we had passed up and worked around in their early releases. As we entered the third year, we felt like we were not getting the same value out of the package as more recent organizations that used ECM in states more resembling out of the box software. We discussed this with the Exponent team, and they immediately jumped in to help us craft a re-integration strategy, with terrific support from their management and development teams. We also were able to hire a Salesforce Administrator by this time and within 6 months we had brought most functions back into alignment with the core product, made notable user interface improvements, prepared our transition plan from Salesforce Classic to Lightning, and implemented several key ECM features that are now coming into full utilization. That we were able to accomplish so much within the scope of our annual support package is a testament to (see below...)

Reasons for switching to Exponent Case Management
Our mission is to equip people to break the cycle of poverty and to dismantle systemic racism, not to develop software. While we overhauled our original system in 2010-11 to turn it into a homemade and crude interpretation of the Salesforce "no software" model, the limits of these features and the increasing admin burden made clear that for our transition to a new progran model in 2016, we wanted to utilize the collective experience of service providers and the expertise of software developers working in our domain. We had a hunch that the Salesforce ecosystem would provide a dynamic and vision-aligned bandwagon to jump on. We wanted a packaged solution that was still flexible enough to showcase our uniqueness. (...from above) a testament to Exponents commitment to enabling us to administer the system in house. They handled development quandaries when necessary, and provided thoughtful guidance to our Salesforce Administrator and management team to enable us to more fully realize the benefits of the bandwagon. This will always be a work in progress but entering year 5 we are confident that our partnership with Exponent will serve us well into the future.

A very flexible and powerful system providing a strong backbone to any Case Management Flows

We are a non profit working with Children , Youth and Families. We were looking to implement a case mgt system for all our social workers handling foster, adoption, crisis pregnancy , hostel and child care residential services. We are implementing Exponent across all our services in iteration, one department at a time. We currently have about 20 users and will have over 40 social workers by the end of this year.

It's a good product. I administrate it but I wasn't around for when we installed it, so I have no comparison at this organization. I must say that the folks who respond to our support emails respond very quickly! I sometimes wish they had more content knowledge.
