I was very skeptical at first but clearly have been won over by the ease of the program and the customer support that we have enjoyed.

Pros:

It is easy to use and [sensitive content hidden] has made himseslf very available to assist in our learning and implementation of the program. Customer support is great.

Cons:

Some report functions were initially difficult to figure out but [sensitive content hidden] was very helpful in listening to our concerns and either educating us or helping us figure a way to get the reports we wanted.

The Best We've Used

There is no better customer service in law office management software than the team at Legal Time. Our questions and issues are addressed quickly and resolved without delay. We knew our issues would not be lost or abandoned in an over-taxed, understaffed, inadequately trained customer service department. We are spoiled by Legal Time's customer service that goes above and beyond to meet or preferences and needs.

Pros:

Legal Time focuses on essential functions for law practice management and makes them accessible and user friendly. We've used the industry's so-called best, but they were burdened with unnecessary features, while the essential functions often lacked coherence and efficiency. Legal Time was designed with the actual user in mind, not the company's marketing team. We could customize the software to our specific preferences; when we had a preference that was unavailable, the developers worked to improve and expand functionality.

Cons:

We were anxious for the developers to create software for a mid-sized firm after we outgrew their original product, Time59, which is tailored to small firms. Legal Time took longer than we wished to come online, but it's proven to be worth the wait.

Pros:

Legaltime is easy to use. It never breaks down. It is easy to correct mistakes. Records are easily downloaded.

Cons:

There are almost too many report that you can run, so you need to remember the name of the report that helps you, or you'll be looking around for a while. This review required that I write something here; I really don't have any significant complaints about Legaltime.

Reasons for switching to Legaltime

We were very wedded to Sage Timeslips because we had used it for so long. We dreaded retyping the clients into any new system. However, over time, we had more and more problems with it. We lost so much billable time trying to get Timeslips to simply work. Timeslips was trying to sell us a monthly subscription (rather than the updated program, which we'd always bought before). The subscription was expensive, and I didn't want to get locked into something expensive when the packaged product had not worked well for years (maybe never). One of our paralegals (at my past firm) suggested that we try Legaltime. Yes, we did need to enter or client billing information, but that was nothing compared to the time wasted on a lousy system. Legaltime simply works all the time--glitch free. Switching was such a relief.
