First introduced in 1994, CGM SCHUYLAB has evolved over the years to support the needs of all kinds of clinical laboratories from the smallest physician office lab to the largest multi-site, independent, reference laboratory.

CGM SCHUYLAB is a product of CompuGroup Medical, a global leader in e-health with customers in more than 56 countries and more than 1.6 million users around the world.

The CGM SCHUYLAB laboratory information system offers multi-language support to meet the needs of bilingual facilities and laboratories in non-English speaking countries.

CGM SCHUYLAB offers total connectivity, connecting to testing instruments, electronic medical records, practice management systems, and more.

An integrated billing option lets laboratories more easily perform their own in-house billing without the need of an external billing system.

Labs will accomplish more despite the challenges of limited staff and resources thanks to the automation and efficiency afforded by CGM SCHUYLAB.

Additional options support cytology testing, microbiology, medical necessity checking, and more. The CGM SCHUYNET web portal provides a fast, secure option for transmitting orders and results.

Great Company with Great Customer Service

Overall I am pleased with our purchase. The customer service group has been able to help with any issues over the past 2 years and always willing to do so. The follow up on issue that are not resolved immediately is great. It is not a call and forget system.

Pros:

Easy to use and train new employees. Easy to add new tests and integrate into EMR.

Cons:

There are some reports that I would like to customize for our lab and that was not an option.

Schuylab flexibel and easy to use

As an LIS administrator I had the opportunity to either work and or maintain different lab information systems. Using Schuylab opened up a world of possibility. While other programs did shine in stability (it never crashed) it was a nightmare to produce the most basic statistical report.

Pros:

Ease of use. Having experience with LIS based on Concurrent DOS and Linux, working and maintaining Schuylab is such a breeze. Not difficult to use and yet very elegant, specially when you interface your Schuylab with other systems and or analyzers.

Cons:

Because it ease of use most users underestimate the underlying complexity. In most cases we overcomplicate a problem while the solution is not that difficult. One tip for users: follow the standards

Avoic companies that DO NOT honor their contracts

Deceptive sales, inept installation, weak support, and an attitude of. PAY US , even tho we never once fulfilled the contract we agreed,

Cons:

EVERYTHING. System never worked a single day for a single piece of data. Excuse and delay over and over. Finally they admitted they were never fulfilling the contract. Didnt' stop them from desperately trying to get paid for their worthless system.

Schuylab 20 year user

I have used Schuylab for 20 years and have not complaints. I never had an interface fail and I was never down due to software failure.

The ease of use and the cost effectiveness. Support was very good and responded to my lab's needs quickly and efficiently.

Cons:

I really have no negatives. It responds to all my needs and is loved by the lab inspectors.

Pros:

The extent of the variables that were put in to the design is impressive. Knowing that many laboratory practices vary widely, Schuyler does force you to follow only one style of operation. Most of all is their willingness to be open to suggestions and to implement them as their feasability becomes apparent.

Cons:

Its method of dealing with critical value calls by secondary personnel.

Hospital labs, for example, will use the optional Turnaround Time Monitor and Draw Monitor to improve their workflow efficiency. With the information displayed by the Draw Monitor, phlebotomists can tell at a glance what to do and who to see next.
