About AWS Secrets Manager

AWS Secrets Manager is a credential management solution that can store, rotate, and manage all secrets such as API keys, system credentials, and application passwords in one centralized location. Easily retrieve secrets with Secrets Manager APIs without the need for complex code.

AWS Secrets Manager offers secrets rotation across different AWS services such as DocumentDB, Redshift, and RDS, so that all database credentials or keys are constantly updated across these services. Users can rotate secrets on a schedule or on-demand using the Secrets Manager console.

In conjunction with AWS Key Management and AWS Identity and Access Management, AWS Secrets Manager provides fine-grained permissions policies and secrets rotation auditing to control access to secrets.

Pros:
The thing for which I start using the secret manager is the encryption of data we stored in it.I used to store my different account credentials and the report of security audits or vulnerability reports
Cons:
AWS must focus to increase the encryption from 256 to a further level and decrease its pricing of it.

Pros:
Data stored in encrypted format and without proper privilege no0 one can decode it, even root users can't. Safe vault to store secrets and easy to retrieve values using SDK's and auth keys.
Cons:
Everything looks great. May be in future AWS will enhance the secret manager to store docs and other data key value pairs.
