Pros:
My company is using Passwork for more than a year and I'm quite happy about it. Very good solution for startups (I can recommend a cloud-based version) as well as for companies with a large number of employees (in this case self-hosted edition will fit better). Had some questions — support was really fast and friendly. Pricing is very nice as well.
Cons:
Passwork is not so famous as LastPass or 1Password, maybe someone will consider it as a disadvantage. But for me it's not a problem at all — I will always choose not so hyped software, but with great features, good support and for the reasonable price.

Great Tool to improve Collaboration and increase the security of the company

4

Overall, it's been a great help so far. Passwords have been easier to manage and share. Access is simple, and employees enjoy using the software. From an IT perspective, installation was also straightforward, and updates are also easy to install.

Pros:
It is very simple to use and we get this feedback from the most of our employees. It also increases the Security of the company, collaboration in our teams and supports the employees a lot in the daily work.
Cons:
The integration in other Applications. Similar Products can do it a little better with an Application installed on the device.

Reasons for choosing Passwork

I already had experience with Passwork and was able to complete the implementation with ease. Plus, the price was much more attractive in the long run.

Pros:
Good back-end UI. It is easy to use with easy-to-understand navigation.
Cons:
Unfortunately, there are several very important features missing from Passwork (cloud). The Chrome extension leaves a lot to be desired. There is no Autofill. There is no Autocapture. There is no team sharing with the option of hiding the Passwords from specific team members. I brought this up to the founders & devs several times & they keep promising updates. but it has been two years & still nothing. Not even close. It's a shame, because this really had potential. Oh well, I am done waiting & I will be moving forward with other Password Managers.

Reasons for switching to Passwork

I needed a team Password management solution. This seemed nice, but at the end, it was a big fail.

Passwork review with local LDAP

5

Generally it has been very pleasant and easy. The most problem we had was with the login, particularly with the fact that Passwork does not support LDAP email login (it cant use the email AD Attribute). Once a user was logged in, there were almost never problems with the usage, whether it be creating, reading, sharing, searching, deleting password etc.

Vendor Response

Thank you for the detailed review! Great to hear your team finds Passwork easy to use. Your feedback on LDAP login options, error messages, and browser extension re-authentication is noted — these are on our radar for improvement. Just an effective password manager that gets the job done without getting in the way

5

Before Passwork, we were using a decentralized password manager that required an installation onto each local PC. Realizing how cumbersome this was, we sought a solution that was centrally managed and provided appropriate RBAC controls. We ended up comparing Passwork and PassBolt. Although similar, Passwork came out ahead due to its capability to have a separate admin account that was not required to be tied to any one user. We have been extremely satisfied with Passwork and continue to be. We always anticipate updates and releases because we know they will bring quality changes.

Pros:
Password Management with role based vaults and private vaults, ease of use for the endusers, user management via LDAP and SAMLv2 and a usable API was the key features for us when deciding on a web-based password vault solution.
Cons:
Results from the search function in the webgui is a bit strange at times but we'v learned to live with it, other than that we have no issues.

Reasons for choosing Passwork

At the time we missed some key features in other products.

Pros:
It is functional and light, easy to use, with capability to retain full control over your data via deployment of self-hosted version. It is also relatively cheap for a business-use perspective, perfect for smaller to medium-size companies.
Cons:
Installation of self-hosted version can get a bit tricky if you're not well versed in Linux and DB management. UI could be a little bit more polished and allow for more customization. However, nothing that would impact the overall value and use capabilities of the software.

Reasons for choosing Passwork

Self-hosting options was crucial for us, as well as low-cost compared to competitors.

Reasons for switching to Passwork

It was outdated and couldn't be easily used for an enterprise/business needs, leaving many things to be desired.

Secure, Self-Hosted, and Cost-Effective

4

Passwork is an excellent password manager, especially for those who value control, security, and a straightforward licensing model. The ability to host it on your own infrastructure is a huge advantage, ensuring complete data privacy without relying on third-party servers. One of the standout aspects is the lifetime licensing option, which provides great long-term value compared to recurring subscription-based alternatives. While it lacks some convenience features like a desktop app and mobile autofill, its robust self-hosted capabilities, intuitive interface, and team-friendly features make it a fantastic choice for businesses and individuals looking for a secure and flexible password management solution.

Pros:
Passwork offers a flexible licensing model that puts you in control of your password management. I especially appreciate the option to host it on my own infrastructure, ensuring data privacy and security without relying on third-party servers. With its straightforward licensing and self-hosted capabilities, it’s an excellent choice for teams and businesses.
Cons:
The biggest downside of Passwork is the lack of certain convenience features found in other password managers. A dedicated desktop app, mobile autofill, and some additional ease-of-use functionalities are missing, which could improve the overall user experience.

Reasons for choosing Passwork

Flexible licensing and self-hosted infrastructure.
