About Ivanti Security Controls

Ivanti Security Controls is a comprehensive security solution that simplifies security with unified and automated prevention, detection, and response techniques. It provides security against modern cyber attacks.

The solution offers application patch management, as well as privilege management and allowlisting. Ivanti Security Controls can detect and remediate operating system and third-party app vulnerabilities on Windows, Red Hat Linux, and CentOS systems. It can also discover, inventory, and patch physical servers, virtual machines, and templates regardless of power state or online/offline status.

Ivanti Security Controls offers advanced features such as agentless patching, remote task scheduling, integration and automation with other products via Patch REST APIs, dynamic allowlisting, granular privilege management, data-gathering mode for app usage insights, and advanced reporting with real-time dashboards. It also provides risk-based cloud patch management, third-party patch publishing for Intune, and security for Android, iOS, and iPad devices.

effortless windows patching solution

we were using windows WSUS services before migrating to ISEC, which is was time consuming and not accurate as well failure % was very high. ISEC resolved all these issues, and reduced turnover time upto 70% and increased productivity for Security team

Pros:

Both Agent based and agentless patching is available. high performance and very light weight agent on client

Cons:

reports are very limited most of the reports are not useful. limited options for linux OS, no options to patch Unix systems

A lightening fast patching software

Pros:

1. The GUI is user friendly 2. The console sync with patching sites are quite simple 3. Finally the patching is done so quick when compared to other tools in the market.

Cons:

After upgrading the IPW console we face some agent issues is quite difficult to solve. We need one package for installation rather than having certificates and installation module seperately.

Has nice features. Cost not reasonable for features.

Initially the software was great for managing a server update system as a replacement for WSUS. However over a few years the customer service declined and the software did not expand capabilities as some competitors did.

Pros:

The software has some good patching controls that allow specific scanning and organizing of patches. Patching schedules are useful and allow a great deal of control.

Cons:

There is no way to setup redundant scans or reboots. So if a machine doesn't reboot through the service it requires manual intervention. With no logged reason why reboots failed. High price point and poor customer service in later years of use.
