Made Postgres onboarding and collaboration effortless

It helps us quickly onboard new engineers by giving them a clear, visual understanding of our Postgres database structure. This reduces the time spent explaining schemas in meetings and improves collaboration when discussing schema changes.

Pros:

It instantly visualizes our Postgres schema, making it much easier for new engineers to understand the structure and relationships in our database. It’s also been great for collaborative work during schema discussions.

Cons:

Real-time multi-user editing would make collaboration even smoother, but overall it works great for our needs.

Pros:

I love being able to visually design and refine my database architecture instead of manually writing every DDL statement. ChartDB makes the process faster, clearer, and more collaborative.

Cons:

Would love to see more customization options for diagram layouts, such as sticky notes or annotations for better context. I spoke with the team, and they’re already working on adding this.

Reasons for choosing ChartDB

DbSchema required installation and lacked a SaaS option. I wanted a modern, web-based solution that I could use instantly without setup.
