About Bugzilla

Bugzilla is an open-source bug tracking software solution that enables software developers to track bugs and defects during software development. Features include automated bug detection, bug lists, patch management and web services.

Bugzilla’s Advanced Search feature allows software developers to create advanced search queries to track and list bugs. In addition, the platform shares automated email notifications whenever the bug tracking settings are changed.

Bugzilla’s Time Tracking feature enables executives to estimate time for debugging, track work hours spent and establish deadlines. It also shares bug list in extensions, such as Atom, Comma-Separated Value (CSV) and iCalendar.

Bugzilla allows managers and team leaders to assign and delegate bugs to different team members with the help of a drop-down list.

Bugzilla is available in multiple languages such as Spanish, Japanese, French and German.

I have used it for almost one year and have very good experience for this bug tracking software.

Bug management software basically used to create and track the bugs in the application . It chart and graphs feature is very useful to see the progress of the bugs.

Cons:

It is good but now their is many software who handle the bugs and project in single frame , so we do not need to purchase the software for only bug tracking.

we are saas based software and provide 24*7 support to our customers. Manytimes we receive bugs which we created on bugzilla and it is assigned to respective developer . This has streamlined our process . Automated email are sent to customers when bug is resolved.

One of the best bug tracking softwares out there!

The software is free and provides some features are not there even in the paid softwares. This could be best choice for smaller organizations.

There are a few things I would like to specifically point out: - Easy to Use, I had no experience of any bug tracking software before using Bugzilla and it turned out so easy and user-friendly. - Ability to filter out columns as per requirements, for example, the severity of bug, reporter, assignee etc.

- I felt that there should be an option to delete the comments within a period of time. - The column filtering could be made more user-friendly by adding checkboxes as in other management tools. - The attachments could be displayed in a better way (like a thumbnail).

USed to love it

It was helping to keep bugs and all the issues, but it was seriously lacking a lot of functionality that any software company needs. No idea if it's any better today as I've been only using Jira for years by now.

i didnt know any better and we could only wish for something like Jira :) It didnt exist then, so Bugzilla kind of worked for us, even though it was very buggy in those years.

Cons:

It was failing pretty often, not much functionality at all, only some very basic functions. Comparing to Jira today, it was a very beginning of such products.

1. UI should need to improve. Sometimes it feels boring to use the system. 2. Animated gifs are not supported.

1.) The best thing is the simplicity of the User Interface, anyone can easily understand. 2.) Ability to Establish workflows for the escalation process to track down. 3.) It is an opensource tool which can be accessible for any user.

It has an interface that is simple and easy to use. Email notifications are usually received very quickly. Workflow is easy to customize using the check feature. It's open source, which means there's no licensing fees.

Cons:

The UI, though simple and easy to use, feels a little bit old and needs to be upgraded.

* Duplicate bug detection which prevents the sane bug to be reported twice. * Watch feature to monitor the bug progress * API support to file the bugs * Time tracker for bug resolution * Good support for charts and reports * Scalable to handle massive popular software's. * Free and open source to install it in own server.

Cons:

* UI : Feels like 1990's. Its old and is not responsive. * Lack of mobile based UI. * Steep learning curve in administration tasks.
