About Clockify

Clockify is a cloud-based time tracking solution designed to help businesses monitor employee productivity, attendance and billable hours. Key features include time audit, reminders, data export, customizable reporting and permissions management.

The application comes with a time clock feature, enabling employees to track work hours in real time, enter time in weekly timesheets, or record hours by blocking time in the calendar. With the dashboard, supervisors can examine the team’s activities along with progress of ongoing projects through graphical representations. Managers can categorize time as per job, set hourly rates and compare projects' actual time with the estimated one.

Clockify has an integrated system for generating invoices based on time tracked and hourly rates. It helps charge more accurately and makes the whole payment process faster and efficient. The application has features for tracking time off and vacation with options for setting time off and vacation policies, or a system where employees earn time off based on overtime work.

Clockify is the Consultant's Best Tool

I would 100% recommend Clockify from a small business or consultant that needs to track billable hours on projects. Even at the Free level, it offers Unlimited tracking, users, projects and reports. That is pretty amazing for a free level tool.

Pros:

Clockify is super easy to set up. I needed to provide detailed project time tracking for a client. I did a little research and found Clockify. Within 30 minutes I had my account set up and my client projects configured. I was able to quickly and easily generate timesheets for the client.

Cons:

I really would have liked to be able to integrate the Clockify time tracking with something like Wave: Small Business Software for invoicing. That would have simplified my invoicing process and allowed for better tracking.

Best free time tracking tool for teams

I have been using Clockify for years, and I have not experienced any bugs. I am still using the free version, and I am really happy with what they provide.

Pros:

I think Clockify is the most simple time tracking tool that is available for free. It has all the functionalities that I need.

Cons:

The UI looks a bit old school, and it lacks some of the modern time tracking functionalities of other platforms like Toggl.

Reasons for choosing Clockify

The free version of Clockify has all the features that I need, and Toggl seems to be a bit too complex and too overpriced for the features that it offers.

Simple, affordable, and effective time tracking tool

I started using Clockify because the agency I was collaborating with used it, and it turned out to be a great discovery. Now I also use Clockify for my own personal and work projects to track my time.

Pros:

The best thing about Clockify is the price. It’s cheaper than other tools if you want to upgrade your billing plan or your team grows. If you work remotely with other people, it’s a great way to track time, see where you’re spending most of it, and spot opportunities to be more productive. It’s also very easy to use and you can quickly create projects and track tasks without much setup.

Cons:

The interface isn’t as polished or visually appealing as some other time-tracking tools I’ve tried. It’s quite simple, effective, but not very customizable. You can’t personalize reports that much, but it’s not a big issue overall.

Mostly because price. I work with different people, so I can add them as a user easily.

At least it’s not crashing on me every 5 minutes

Prior to implementing the time clock I had my employees simply submit an invoice to me when they were ready and probably worked shorter hours than they should have. But the time clock has allowed me to monitor how many hours they're actually worked and that's been really refreshing. The checklist on the food truck is great, as my employees are now doing the work I ask of them. They don’t talk to each other as yet but I no longer need to enter information across 5 different programs.

Pros:

I am eating a half eaten sandwich in the break room and attempting to complete my administrative work. This is good as the scheduling system is working out well and none of my employees are complaining about it too much. They also offer a rewards voucher program that we may utilize during the new year, provided that we are still operating at that point. The chat feature is functional for reducing the number of times that my personal cell phone is blowing up with texts.

Cons:

I think the learning curve is going to be monumental and I am not sure how much of their webinars or meetings I’m going to be able to tolerate. The vendor sends us the recordings afterwards but I struggle to find this as it’s buried deep in some menu and there are hundreds of different settings. The module for reporting on employee time off is nearly pointless as you cannot edit how things appear to view, only what I require to see.

Easy to use and perfect for recording time on projects.

My overall experience with Clockify was a positive one, and it provided the time data we required and presented the information in a clear and concise way to ensure we could analyse the data to interpret what it meant for our tech audit. It was a useful tool and led to a successful project.

Pros:

We recently used Clockify to obtain data about where team members are spending large amounts of their time in order to make tech improvements and efficiencies. It is easy to use and customisable so you can create as many time recording categories as you wish, and also colour co-ordinate them for ease of use. It provides automated reports to collate the data. It was the best value for money we could find to achieve what we required. Other teams were interested in using it to track time spend on specific projects to help with billing and project collaboration amongst team members.

Cons:

Occasionally it was difficult to make a manual adjustment to a time record, say if you left it running, but I think this was a small bug and you could fix this by deleting and manually enter the time record. I didn't use their customer service, but I suspect they could of resolved this, as other users did not experience this issue.

Great time management for small and large teams

It is very useful to managing a team and tracking everyones time spent and work load. We are able review the teams work load at a glance and help moderate any bottle necking of workloads for any one staff member. It helps to identify inefficiencies and evenly distribute the work load.

It is highly customizable and great to use for small and large teams. Aesthetically it is also pleasing to customize and modify to some very fun colors. It is a very accurate tool as well and provides great insight on data analysis.

Cons:

It can be finnicky and you must be diligent in using it properly - punching in, pausing and punching out, switching amongst tasks and entering any one off tasks that may come up.

Easy Timesheets

Timesheets are very clear and easy to use. The live tracker also makes keeping on top of time spent very simple.

Cons:

As I only use it for timesheets there isn’t much to not like. Simple to input jobs and does what I need it to do.
