About Clockify

Clockify is a cloud-based time tracking solution designed to help businesses monitor employee productivity, attendance and billable hours. Key features include time audit, reminders, data export, customizable reporting and permissions management.

The application comes with a time clock feature, enabling employees to track work hours in real time, enter time in weekly timesheets, or record hours by blocking time in the calendar. With the dashboard, supervisors can examine the team’s activities along with progress of ongoing projects through graphical representations. Managers can categorize time as per job, set hourly rates and compare projects' actual time with the estimated one.

Clockify has an integrated system for generating invoices based on time tracked and hourly rates. It helps charge more accurately and makes the whole payment process faster and efficient. The application has features for tracking time off and vacation with options for setting time off and vacation policies, or a system where employees earn time off based on overtime work.

Track your time accurately with Clockify

Overall, Clockify delivers its purpose. It helps you track your time accurately. I haven't experienced any discrepancies on time at all.

Pros:

I am using Clockify for years now and it's very reliable when it comes to time tracking. It's not really for micromanaging but it's more on being productive when using it.

Cons:

The only downside I experienced when using it is the late notification. You have to look from time to time to see how many hours have you been working.

Clockify is the Consultant's Best Tool

I would 100% recommend Clockify from a small business or consultant that needs to track billable hours on projects. Even at the Free level, it offers Unlimited tracking, users, projects and reports. That is pretty amazing for a free level tool.

Pros:

Clockify is super easy to set up. I needed to provide detailed project time tracking for a client. I did a little research and found Clockify. Within 30 minutes I had my account set up and my client projects configured. I was able to quickly and easily generate timesheets for the client.

Cons:

I really would have liked to be able to integrate the Clockify time tracking with something like Wave: Small Business Software for invoicing. That would have simplified my invoicing process and allowed for better tracking.

Ease of configuration and use. It was just that easy to set it up.

Pros:

It is easy to use and doesn’t require my login every time. I used daily to track what i do at work. I think my coworkers also like it.

Cons:

I cannot think of any cons. Sometimes it lags and doesn’t load quickly but there isn’t anything that I don’t like. The phone app is little difficult to use than desktop version.

Customer service was lacking and became a pain to deal with, especially in terms of cancelling and being charged/billed.

Not much, to be honest. We attempted to use it for a while in order to track projects but it never quite did what we needed it to do.

Cons:

As a nonprofit, we needed some very specific features that Clockify did not have and the existing features didn't quite meet our needs either.

Reasons for choosing Clockify

We thought it would be robust and worth the money, it was not.

Best free time tracking tool for teams

I have been using Clockify for years, and I have not experienced any bugs. I am still using the free version, and I am really happy with what they provide.

Pros:

I think Clockify is the most simple time tracking tool that is available for free. It has all the functionalities that I need.

Cons:

The UI looks a bit old school, and it lacks some of the modern time tracking functionalities of other platforms like Toggl.

Reasons for choosing Clockify

The free version of Clockify has all the features that I need, and Toggl seems to be a bit too complex and too overpriced for the features that it offers.

Easy to use and perfect for recording time on projects.

My overall experience with Clockify was a positive one, and it provided the time data we required and presented the information in a clear and concise way to ensure we could analyse the data to interpret what it meant for our tech audit. It was a useful tool and led to a successful project.

Pros:

We recently used Clockify to obtain data about where team members are spending large amounts of their time in order to make tech improvements and efficiencies. It is easy to use and customisable so you can create as many time recording categories as you wish, and also colour co-ordinate them for ease of use. It provides automated reports to collate the data. It was the best value for money we could find to achieve what we required. Other teams were interested in using it to track time spend on specific projects to help with billing and project collaboration amongst team members.

Cons:

Occasionally it was difficult to make a manual adjustment to a time record, say if you left it running, but I think this was a small bug and you could fix this by deleting and manually enter the time record. I didn't use their customer service, but I suspect they could of resolved this, as other users did not experience this issue.

I use it to track my time and it works fine

Before this we had no idea what the 12 (now 30) people were doing. It has stopped the constant arguments about whose hours are what hours as everything is now logged digitally. I forgot to log my hours yesterday and I could easily go in and add them after the end of the month. My cold coffee is staring at me but at least I don’t have to deal with spreadsheets.

The facial recognition did catch my face. I liked how I can log into the app from my phone, I am rarely sitting at my desk so I appreciate that feature. All you do is tap a button and it goes. I didn’t have to read through the instructions or a manual to learn how to use the basic buttons.

Cons:

It seems like sometimes it will take an eternity to sync the app from my laptop to my phone. I also get bugged by the app asking for gps permission every day. Like why does it need to know I’m in the break room for the fifth time today? The process of setting up with the support team took 2 days of going back and forth and was completely frustrating.

It is free, it clocks your time. It is simple to create projects and tasks and you can see how the tasks make up a project in a report.

Cons:

What I liked the least and what caused me to switch to Jibble was that it did not update my time immediately when I was organizing my time entries by task and adding up my hours in the project report. It just was very inaccurate, I can't have that for my billed time.

Easily keep track of how much time you're spending on each project

I use it daily and it's great for keeping track of how much time I spend on certain projects. It works just as well on mobile as desktop devices.

You get a lot with the free plan of Clockify, including tracking time against specific tasks and projects.

Cons:

The odd time I've encountered some glitches where the timer wouldn't stop running in my browser. These are fixed by reloading the page.

Great time tracking software!

Overall, the software is easy to use and I haven't had any issues that required help. I like that it integrates with QuickBooks since so many companies use QuickBooks software.

Pros:

I like that you can keep projects together under one client. you can I really like that you can keep track of several different sessions of working on the same project under one line. Other tracking software forces you to add those sessions together for a daily total.

Cons:

It would be nice to have another layer in clients where you could separate different sorts of projects before breaking it down to the actual project itself.
