You can track everything, the name that Jetbrains choose was very accurate. It's their official tool and it's really helpful.

Cons:

Inexpensive alternative to Jira that is a great tool for a startup or SME

Overall, our transition to YouTrack from Jira / Confluence was at first a good cost conscious upgrade for our team. The smooth onboarding process of migrating documentation and tasks from Jira was quite straight forward. However, after some time using the product everyday it was obvious that it loaded extremely slow (even slower than Jira), this included changing ticket statuses, reporting new tickets, etc.

Pros:

Onboarding was seamless from Jira / Confluence into YouTrack. It was able to ingest all our existing tickets, comments, attachments, custom fields, etc. without almost any manual configuration.

Cons:

The UI is quite confusing and feels clunky. For example when you have multiple projects and looking for the "assigned to me" on individual projects, you have to navigate around before being able to then search. In our opinion.

Reasons for switching to YouTrack

Initially we were looking for a tool that would be faster and more responsive as we had issues with Jira / Confluence loading tickets very slowly which wasted precious seconds / minutes. Additionally, we didn't want to have to pay for Confluence separately, we wanted an all inclusive tool. YouTrack was an inexpensive alternative that seemed good at the onset.

Pros:

There is a lot to do in it to make all your work tasks efficient with it. I like the features to assign a task of a particular project to a member and to track your work done so far.

Cons:

Although I didn’t find any major lack in this software or faced any issues, the tracking module could have been better.

A decent Project Management tool for small and medium size teams.

Youtrack provides almost all the features as compared to other competitors but still it lags behind in some cases. For example: It does not provide much flexibility for integrating with other non-technical softwares.Other than that, it integrates very well with other development tools like( github, gitlab etc)

YouTrack has the feature of customizable workflows and automation. You can customize workflow according to your team's requirement. Jira also has customizable workflows, but with YouTrack, you can customize the workflow using JavaScript. You can write JavaScript code in the built-in JavaScript editor and customize the workflow.

Cons:

YouTrack's mobile support is not that great. It doesn't provide all features same as that of desktop version. Jira provides almost every feature seamlessly in mobile version also.

Effective issue tracking for a creatives workflow

It’s enabled our team to juggle feedback loops and rounds of extreme editing faster, even keeping campaigns moving without losing little-yet-telling details in e-mail threads or spreadsheets.

YouTrack helps us stay organized between client projects, especially if we have multiple campaigns happening at once. I also appreciate we are able to easily customize task fields and workflows it’s flexible enough to mold around a marketing team, not just a tech team.

Cons:

It’s not the prettiest interface compared to some more visual tools, and it sometimes requires additional setup to make things feel especially intuitive quickly, plus for more creative projects.

The Inter-team Efficiency Maximizer

I use this software for reporting bugs and issues to the IT Team and since it is integrated with Slack, I take updates on the issue from there only. All this makes inter-team collaborations and discussions easier. However, I need the help of IT department itself to update my own tickets.

We can easily create tickets for reporting new bugs in any in-house software's, such as Content Management System, and since we can integrate YouTrack with Slack, these reports get auto-updated there as well.

Cons:

Finding the tickets related to me takes a little time due to 'Assigned to me' feature being moved from direct access.
