About FortiEDR

FortiEDR is an endpoint protection solution that provides threat intelligence for different types of advanced attacks. This solution is designed to help security teams proactively identify and stop breaches without disrupting business operations. It detects and defuses file-less malware and other attacks in real-time. In the event of a security incident, FortiEDR can enable response and remediation processes.

This solution allows businesses to create customizable playbook-based incident responses with automated actions, such as removing files, terminating processes, reversing changes, notifying users, isolating applications and devices, plus more. Additionally, FortiEDR offers a post-infection protection layer that controls file system modifications and outbound communications. Other features include a machine learning anti-virus engine, incident classification, security fabric integration, and more

Good detection, but complex

Pros:

It's extremely light for the operating system, and has a very good detection engine.

Cons:

You need to configure MANY exceptions. It's complex and a bit of a time waster. The support is responsive, but there are a lot of bugs that will be fixed in future versions that we currently have to tolerate.

We mostly use Fortinet products, so it made sense for the integration.

It is very important to plan the structure that you will make and create with experts. This ensures both the professional operation of the services and the desired results. Apart from all these, thanks to the easy and professional management panel, the IT team does not have too much workload. While your systems are secure, your cost and resources will be minimized.

Pros:

FortiEDR, a product of cloud-based protection, is a service that provides immediate action and warning by detecting threats and analyzing malware. In particular, it ensures that the services under attack continue their duties uninterruptedly and fulfill their duties. It tries not to interrupt existing processes. Especially for the growing ransomware, its advanced testing and analysis is lifesaving.

Cons:

No negative processes can be mentioned. It has a much more advanced scanning and memory than other UTM devices or cloud-based systems on the market. Only a structure planned with expert opinion should be established.

Encontré muy útil la trazabilidad de eventos, porque pude determinar puntos de falla que antes no había visualizado. Justamente, te ayuda a ver "el todo" y no ser tan específico.

Pros:

We have been using this tool to keep a track of all the devices that are accessing our network and terminate any connection that is from an unauthorized/unregistered device or register our devices for authorized usage.

Cons:

been using this tool for quite a while now and faced no cons so far.
