Best AI for counseling I have found

I am excited to have access to it and to have such an amazing time saving device for my practice. I have tried other AI programs for session notes and find this to be more accurate and clinically appropriate. I have already recommended it to colleagues.

Pros:

The quality and detail of the notes, the way they are organized, the choice of styles and the time it saves me! I think I save roughly 30 minutes per session note and maybe an hour for intakes!

Cons:

I think SOAP notes should be available in the Mini plan for those of us with small caseloads.

Just do it!

My overall experience has been that my note writing time has decreased significantly. The application is user friendly and easily adaptable to current practice.

I dislike that Mentalyc is opened in a separate window. It would be great if it were an extension or an entire EHR.

Pros:

I love the ease of writing notes and being able to customize the templates to gather the information i need. I can see more clients because i spend less time working on notes.

Cons:

There is no option to recreate the note once it's processed if i wanted to change the template to gather more information.

Mentalyc Saves Time & Money

I've had a great experience with Mentalyc since the beginning of this year. It has saved my private practice time and money, as I can see more clients and keep up with their notes in a structured and uniform way.

Pros:

I like that I can copy and paste my session notes and Mentalyc transcribes the notes in three functional ways. One way is the SOAP format for insurance, the next is for the client in terms they will understand, and the last is for the clinician. I truly appreciate all the options and formats.

Cons:

nothing at the moment. I enjoy all aspects and additions to Mentalyc. Including the EMDR transcription as I am an EMDR trained psychotherapist

Mentalyc is so easy. It’s an incredibly simple platform that operates effortlessly, like having an unbiased secretary keeping notes in every session. Online sessions are recorded as video or audio as well. The program interprets specific interchange between client and therapist with clinical terminology and interventions. The entire dialogue is transcribed. The recording is then erased after 30 days I believe.

Cons:

Using it on my phone caused some issues and the sessions wouldn’t upload. So I don’t use it on iPhone anymore.

Pros:

Mentalyc helps me get my clinical notes done in no time at all. What used to take me 10-15 hours on the weekend now takes about 2-hours. Mentalyc is constantly upgrading their app and has one of the quickest responding customer service teams I've encountered.

Cons:

This is a weak con, but I wish we could run spell-check for the transcribed notes/narratives AND the option to choose the country of origin. For example, sometimes words are spelled as if the transcriber is from Canada or Europe.

Reasons for switching to Mentalyc

I wanted something automated that could take my recorded audio and offer a true note transcription. Mentalyc checks off all of the boxes.
