On The Stage - We Couldn’t Do Theatre Without Them!

    5

Why would theatre people want to work with anyone other than theatre people? We wouldn’t, and OTS is the best there is. Not only do they understand the industry at a professional level on down to a small community theatre level, the team at OTS is actively working to make our main job easier - doing excellent theatre. I cannot recommend them enough, and I always recommend them new colleagues in the performing arts world.

    Pros:
It’s ease of use; ANYONE can learn how to use On The Stage quickly and effectively. From box office transactions to creating events to important analytics, OTS does it all easily. And guess what? If I can’t figure a feature out the AMAZING OTS support teams are always there with an answer.
    Cons:
Event registration is a new feature, and right now is it the absolute best? No, HOWEVER, given our past history with OTS this system will grow and change based on ease of use. Overall, I have no negative comments or thoughts about OTS.

On the Stage was a nice was for my school to test out selling tickets digitally for our events. Creating the pages was fairly easy, if technology is something you're strong at, and you were able to personalize things.
    Cons:
I did not like that we had to sign a year-long contract right out of the gate. I also did not like how high some of the fees were. I even got charged fees on cash ticket sales AND comp tickets. If I was giving away a ticket to an actor or something, I actually LOST money, which didn't make sense to me.

    Cons:
I don't like that I have no say in the marketing. I would rather be able to customize event/fundraiser marketing while creating the event as just another step. So that when everything is published marketing that is concurrent with the event goes with it. Not this continuously over used trite shit.

Reasons for choosing On the Stage

Honestly, the customer service, but in the past few years that has been more annoying than helpful.

Reasons for switching to On the Stage

Eventbrite was going to start charging for events of over 25 people. And they do not allow for online fundraisers.

Thank you for your feedback and for being a valued user of our platform for over two years. We're pleased to hear that our easy-to-publish ticket sites and streamlined event creation have been beneficial for you. However, we regret any inconvenience caused by the lack of marketing options and recent issues with our customer service. Your input is invaluable, and we are actively working to improve these areas. On The Stage Production Marketing and Ticket Sales Platform

    5

Our 25 year community theater decided to step into the 21st century and start selling tickets using an automated online system. We researched many companies that sell event tickets and found On the Stage, which by far was the best and most economical. At NO COST, the initial set-up required about an hour of training and a day of practice for expertise through process. We can create production marketing events, set-up ticketing, and event have reserved seating, al at no cost to the theater, passing the small ticket fees to the patron, with no complaints. We can even sell merchandise at NO UPFRONT cost, where OTS takes care of the production, shipping and fees, and pays us net. I have personally recommended OTS to five different theater groups.

OTS is an easy to use (NO COST TO THEATER) even and production marketing tool that also permits the patron to purchase tickets and reserve seats while review all show content, cast and other news.
    Cons:
I really can't say anything negative about OTS. It has improved as we went along the way, and it still has some room for a little growth, but the value for benefit far outweigh any small limitations it may have at this time.

    Pros:
I have used ON the stage for 3 years now. I set up the shows, and I opt to have the fees included in our ticket price. The fees are relatively low, but this option does reduce our income. They have an allowance for donations, they track our donors and our ticket purchasers. The send announcements for upcoming shows. The still send paper checks if your school's system is so archaic that they won't accept direct deposit. They make it easy to thank donors through their website.
    Cons:
I had some trouble figuring it out. The people who work there are extremely helpful with set up and teaching tools, but some things I just didn't quite understand all the tools available. I learn more every year.

Reasons for choosing On the Stage

I chose them because they had the best system for streaming and for ticketing prices. It was our first foray into the world of online ticketing, and fortunately, it was an excellent choice. Groups that I know that have used other resources have had difficulty getting their payments. I have never even wondered if the money wouldn't come because it always does. Trustworthy.

Thank you for your glowing review and for being a loyal customer for the past three years! Cons:
The most difficult thing is customizing our show site. OTS provides detailed specs for things like page headers, but they have never worked for us no matter how closely we follow the specs. So we end up reverting to designes provided by OTS rather than our own custom designs. Integration with social media is a little clunky.
