About Metaroom by Amrax

Designed for professionals who need accurate room models quickly, Metaroom by Amrax® is a mobile-first digitization platform. Use your iPhone Pro or iPad Pro to scan single rooms, multiple floors, or entire buildings and generate true-to-scale 3D models in minutes.
The Metaroom Scan App automatically recognizes furniture, windows, and doors, and allows you to add snapshots and notes as you go. After scanning, the platform generates a 3D model or 2D floor plan in minutes. You can then open it in the Metaroom Workspace browser to measure, annotate, and refine. One scan yields both 2D and 3D outputs, saving hours versus manual surveys.
Finished models can be exported in more than 30 CAD-ready 3D formats, including IFC, DXF, and GLB, as well as various 2D formats. The solution integrates with CAD software, including Autodesk, ArchiCAD, DIALux, and SketchUp.
All data is stored in GDPR-compliant cloud storage for secure collaboration.

Metaroom review

Metaroom works well and is reliable when scanning. Application is stable and does not freeze even when there is a lot of stuff around obstructing the walls or floor.

Pros:

Scan well even in tight spaces. Possibility to re-scan certain area if not happy with result. Awesome customer support.

Cons:

It would be nice if you could edit 3D scan in Metaroom (edit window size). There is a lot of exporting options where you can edit your scan but not in Metaroom directly.

Ein echtes Aufmass-Tool

Als Laie ein Aufmass für grösseres sehr altes Gebäude zu erstellen, brachte mich schnell an meine Grenzen. Nach mehreren erfolglos getesteten Apps bin ich bei Metaroom von Amrax gelandet. Ich konnte bereits die wichtigsten Geschosse verarbeiten. Die Genauigkeit ist sehr hoch.

-Die Handhabung der App ist genial. -Die Verwendung der Scans über den Store (Webseite) ist super. -Alle gängigen Formate werden unterstützt -Die Einbindung in das CAD Cascados ist genau das was ich suchte. -Der Service und die Unterstützung ist schnell, freundlich und hilfsbereit. -Eine Österreichisches Unternehmen was noch echten Kundensupport leistet. -Sehr gute und verständliche Webinare. -Sehr gutes Preis/Leistung Verhältnis.

Cons:

Räume mit schiefen Wänden (Horizontal und Vertikal) werden nicht ganz so perfekt wieder gegeben. Als grobes Aufmass aber ausreichend.

Reasons for switching to Metaroom by Amrax

funktionierte nicht in der Web-App. Deutlich überzogene Preise. Support-Anfrage nur auf englisch, Antwort erst nach Tagen.

Pros:

Der Raumscan funktioniert so intuitiv und einfach und ermöglicht es auch dem Planer am Schreibtisch einen Raum nachzuvollziehen und alle Details zu berücksichtigen. Die Möglichkeit einen Raum zu scannen, zu exportieren und dann gleich den Entwurf in den Raum hineinzuzeichnen ist super. Die Erfassung von mehreren Stockwerken ist beeindruckend. Auch die Möglichkeit während des Raumscans Fotos von allen planungsrelevanten Details zu machen ist für die spätere Berücksichtigung und Nachvollziehbarkeit wichtig.

Cons:

Die Erfassung von komplexen Decken funktioniert leider nur über einige Workarounds. Der Export von komplexen Raumsituationen in die Planungssoftware ist leider noch nicht optimal.

It is a fabulous product and the support is excellent. From contacting Metaroom to get more info until signing up to use the software was a very informative and supportive process. The software is fantastic and once I watched the videos, I was even more impressed. The possibilities is endless. This software is time saving, and add so much value to the quality of my as-build plan service.

It is great value for money. Customer support is excellent. It is easy to use for creating 3D models and detailed plans with extensive detail.

Cons:

I had to upgrade my I-Phone, an additional cost that I did not budget for, but I got credit for my existing I-Phone

Tolles Tool fürs unkomplizierte Scannen von Innenräumen

Am besten gefällt mir, dass man innerhalb weniger Minuten einen Grundriss zum gescannten Projekt ausgegeben bekommt, der einen guten ersten Überblick gibt.

Cons:

Ich würde mir wünschen, dass man genauso schnell eine Schnittdarstellung, bzw. eine Wandansicht erhalten kann.

Praktisches Werkzeug zur Gebäude- und Raum-Erfassung

Ich nutze die App hauptsächlich um Gebäudeerfassungen für spätere Berechnungen vorzunehmen. Das funktioniert soweit gut, trotzdem sind Kontrollmessungen sinnvoll gerade bei ungleichmäßigen Wandstrukturen.

Es ist schnell und funktionell. Der Scanprozess erspart mir viel Zeit. Der Service ist exzellent und freundlich.

Cons:

Nachteilig ist es für mich, dass ich bei einigen Objekten manchmal einzelne Räume später scannen muss und diese dann nicht in den vorhandenen Scan eingefügt werden kann.

Sehr gutes Tool

Wir nutzen die Anwendung zur Bestandsaufnahme von einzelnen Wohnungen in der Vermietung, zur nachfolgenden evtl. notwenidgen Instandsetzung. Hierzu ist das ein sehr gutes Werkzeug zur weiteren Planung (Mengen etc.). Wir sind noch in der "Findung" zu weiteren Nutzungen (Marketing etc.)

Metaroom iste ine weitestgehend unkomplizierte Anwendung mit einem guten Preis - Leistungsverhältnis. Der Datenaustausch zur weiteren Bearbeitung (bei uns in Archicad ist gut. Auch der "einfache" Ausdruck als PDF ist schon sehr gut.

Cons:

Ungenaugigkeiten bei den Wandstärken, in den Übergängen zum nächsten Raum "verliert" der Scannen oft die Orientierung.!? Im "Altbau" Bestand werden "Runde" Stürze nicht erkannt Unterzüge in Räumen werden nur schwer erkannt

Quick and easy to survey a building by scanning. Works perfectly and helping to make the CAD jobs simple.

Cons:

Not too accurate results on the furnitures and other objects scanned. Still need some improvements on accuracy. No option to import directly to a DWG AutoCad file.

Incredibly easy to use, very good accuracy, saved many hours of time. Disn't need a draftsperson on site for 2 whole days. Anyone could do it. 3D models with textures are amazing. Straight into 2D and 3D CAD. Couldn't be simpler.

Cons:

It appears to struggle a bit with walls that have a small step or return (say 150mm or less). It seems to use a fair bit of battery on the iPhone and iPhone warms up. But not excessively.
