Pros:

What I like most is the option to organize my payments by whom they need to go to and when they are due. Too many payments fall through the cracks because names tend to be similar.

Cons:

It would be useful if there was a top to handle more complex payroll. We have set dates for percentage payments for different bonuses and t have to work out the precentages myself.

Best accounting software to provide accounting and bookkeeping for my small business clients.

Overall I have had a good experience with Quickbooks Online Accountant. It has definitely improved over the years in functionality and continues to get better.

Pros:

I like that it is widely used & accepted by many small businesses and that he price is good for myself and my clients. I also like the integrations with the bank feeds and other apps which makes recording transactions a breeze. The step-by-step instructions which can be found with their online support is very useful and shareable with clients when they need to know how to do something in Quickbooks. I like the Accountant Tools features because it helps me to make corrections and changes much easier & quicker. I also really like the newer Books Review page. It helps me to clean up client books and message them with questions directly out of Quickbooks. I like that it is cloud based so there is no longer fear of a clients books getting lost on a damaged computer or network. Also, it allows me to be able to provide accounting services to my clients from home no matter where they are located.

Cons:

There are a few quirks with some of the newer features of the software, but I am sure those will get worked out. I also have not had a great experience with the phone support team. Sometimes they are able to help, but I have been steered wrong by support in the past and ended up figuring out the fix on my own after spending a long time on a call with support.

Reasons for choosing QuickBooks Online Accountant

For my small business clients, it provides more functionality and better reporting than the less expensive options. It is less expensive than some of the more complex accounting software options, which suits most of my accounting clients.

I have never hated a piece of software more in my life

Constant glitches, Constant errors, constant investigating into why QBO is failign me, constant sync issues with my bank, constant reentry and correcting of data, constant hesitation to trust anything this software is telling me, constant confusion with little understanding of the problems by support staff.

Support is quick and responsive all the time which is it's only saving grace.

Cons:

Relying on a software that is online only means that if there are glitches or errors because of it's network or code executed in a webpage, this critically damages your books. Frequently quickbooks online will say that everything is correct and up to date when in reality there are numerous sync issues and entries duplicated by system glitches, also the fact that it ignores currency conversion means that what you had expected as correct is wrong and ensures you have hundreds of days of investigating to do to track down issues.

I like that I can send an invoice through QuickBooks just by using my client's email instead of having to email the invoice myself. I really like that I can see all transactions and expenses linked with the client account.

Cons:

I like everything. QuickBooks is faster than other software for accounting. It lets me know right away when the accounts need attention. More efficient and accurate.

QuickBook Online Accounting Software Personal Experience

We've started the software in January 2020 but decided to shift to other software because it wasn't fulfilling our organizational need. so the experience with quickbooks online version wasn't good for us.

Pros:

It's ease of use and the customer support is great. Also basic level reporting is good.

Cons:

In the start, it looks great to use but with the passage of the time we came to know that there are many missing. Specially Advance level of reporting system. You can't customize the reporting according to your organizational need. Plus, Inward Gate passes and Outward Gate passes were missing. You can not integrate with sms gateway. Customers & Vendors ledger formats were another big issue because you can't customize them according to your organizational need. They need to Improve inventory section too because unable to track record of daily issuance there.

1) Consistent solid performance - almost zero downtime 2) Continuous addition of new features 3) Customer Service - while not great, lot better than Wave and others in the industry

Cons:

1) Not easy to use. We are accountants and Certified pro advisors but for end users it is difficult. 2) Expensive for small sized businesses. 3) Full Payroll is not available.
