About Brave

Browse the web faster and block data-grabbing ads and trackers with Brave. Brave's secure web browser utilizes IPFS integration, a peer-to-peer hypermedia protocol, to prevent online tracking and load content faster. Users are not only able to control how ads are seen and how often but they are also able to earn up to 70% of the ad revenue that Brave receives. Switching to Brave is intuitive by allowing users to import their settings from previous browsers.

More privacy and safety, but not for entry-level users.

I started using Brave due to cybersecurity concerns and I'm not going back to other browers. Filtering ads, trackers, cookies really makes browsing faster and safer. There are a lot of things that Brave needs to do to become perfect, especially interesting to a less "tech educated" audience.

An enhanced Chrome, with more privacy and protection against cookies

5

I've used Brave to close to 5/6 years, and won't be going back to other browsers. It rides on Chrome's system so is very easy to navigate, has a super intuitive layout that resembles Chrome exactly, making it very easy to get used to even when I have started using it. I've found that browsing performance on Brave is stable, and it doesn't really crash much, even when lots of tabs are opened. When rebooting it's also easy to reopen past tabs. Extensions from Google Chrome Store can be downloaded for use directly, which is a plus from other browsers like Firefox.

A good alternative for Chrome but not mature enough

Pros:
Excellent search engine and browser, nice to have an alternative that focuses on privacy, compared to the major players
Cons:
The main drawback is the obvious one, the index isn't as broad and as deep as Google's, so really niche search terms can sometimes be a struggle to get good results

oBrave Browser allows for privacy focused web browsing and ad blocking

5

oMy overall experience with Brave has gone well. Not having to deal with the enormous number of ads and pop ups is a massive relief and makes browsing the internet so much faster and enjoyable. Having the ability to use Brave’s own search engine “Brave Search” is also nice as well so I do not have to deal with the awful ads and sponsored links. It also has crypto, and AI features built in if that is something someone is interested in as well. The only gripe is these features are mostly on by default and can get a little too “in your face.” However, the browser is decently user configurable, and you can turn these features off if you do not want them and modify things to how you like it.

Reasons for switching to Brave

My main browser so far

Pros:
I've been using Brave as my primary browser for a few years now. I find it fast, stable, and full of useful features. The built-in ad blocker is definitely great—I keep it enabled for all sites, and browsing has become cleaner and faster. I also really like the idea of crypto rewards; they accumulate very slowly, but in the first few years of using it, I managed to earn a few dozen euros by exchanging them a bit. Highly recommended!
Cons:
Nothing. Sometimes the crypto wallet disconnects, and you need to log in again. It's nothing annoying or blocking, but I thought I'd mention it.

Reasons for switching to Brave

I think that Brave is better, with more functions. I like it more.

Reasons for switching to Brave

I could tell that chrome was guiding my search results rather than letting me organically find information, they also wanted too much personal information to use their services.
