SeedLegals builds and maintains shareholder data with our easy-to-use, easy-to-read standardized cap table. Users can create and customize many types of common business legal contracts and documents, from Founder Pledge and Non-Disclosure Agreements to Employment Agreements and Staff Handbook.

The Board admin helps carry out director duties, practice good governance and run productive board meetings with board tools.

Incredible customer service from the outset, and a must-have for any startup raising funds. Most impressive is the sheer range of services that the company offer - completely full suite.

Cons:

It's a little pricy, and would be great to be able to further customise some of the documents.

Pros:

Standard forms very helpful. The personal service you get with EIS, SEIS was second to none.

Cons:

The add on templates (example Cap Table) are very expensive. But you can use your own. However the SL template integrates with other features - nice to have, but not essential. But one doesn’t know about these total costs when signing up to the service.

My SeedLegals Team Rule the Entrepreneurial Kingdom

EMI share options, cap table, SeedFasts, Funding rounds. I am pretty lost with it all to tell the truth and still only just learning what a cap table is, but had it not been for SeedLegals and their team I would still be Googling 'how to get money for your dreams'. Here you guys are making it happen. The main thing that excites me about the platform is having a visual cap table and everything in one place. I can't imagine what a cobweb of Excel drafts, missing signed copies and badly named folders I would have created by now in our server!

Team, team, team! The product is great but it's the team that really make it fly. I've felt like they always have my best interests at heart while going through the process, setting up all these 'scary' agreements and document which are enough to give anyone indigestion. They were really gunning to help me get the best deal out of the situation for my company, that at times I felt like I was me that was letting the team down if I wasn't being ambitious enough with my final negotiations :)Great support, always smiling, always helpful. Thank you . Special thanks to [sensitive content hidden] who have carried us through this particularly challenging financial close.

Cons:

Some way of better inter-team/expert communication would be good. We'd get advice from one team, say Option Pool setup then come back to the Round Closing Team only to find that, whilst that advice might be best for most scenarios, in our particular scenario it might not be - so round we would go again between the teams back and forth.

Reasons for choosing SeedLegals

I was actually curious to learn about the process. I knew that if I gave it to lawyers / fund raisers to do that I wouldn't actually learn anything - and that's what the whole journey of entrepreneurialism is about - learning and improving.

The software is increasingly easy to navigate and use, and the customer service is excellent.

Cons:

I'm still finding the process to raise financing non-intuitive, especially the end of the process when it comes to wrapping up the final steps for SEIS/EIS investors. I'm expecting a clear step-by-step process, but the steps are never spelled out (or I've not see that checklist), which means I've found myself (a few times) lost and wasting time.

The Seedlegal experts are like an extension of our team. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable, hardworking, and a pleasure to work with. They helped us get our SEIS Assurance, but have offered so much additional support. I love that they are so easy to book a call with. They spend time developing relationships and it really sets them apart from other services on the market.

Cons:

Sometimes meetings booked through the chat have been with the wrong expert, but it's not a major problem. We only book appointments through our account manager now and it's working better for us.

Cons:

I have on occasion believed that I had concluded a process which I had not actually concluded due to finalising of the right signatures and documentation not fully completing - yet I did not get peseterd with reminders about this.

The law firm was not on top of our stuff and communicated poorly.

The hands on support with the SEIS Advance Assurance application. [sensitive content hidden] support was resourceful as we got the application approved by HMRC in less than a week.

Cons:

The SEIS application portal on SeedLegals could use a bit more information on what is required in each section so as to avoid long chain of emails with the representatives to confirm minor details. That will save time for both parties.
