About Maptive

Maptive is a mapping solution that helps businesses create sales territories based on multiple methodologies, including boundary mapping, heatmaps and demographic mapping, among other categories. It allows users to use a drag-and-drop interface to create multi-stop optimized routes.

Maptive's drawing tool enables users to set up border-radius, create location-specific notes, demarcate particular zones, and add labels, icons and arrows to highlight specific areas within the map. Administrators can set up permission rights and configure passwords to restrict employees from accessing specific maps. The distance calculating tool of Maptive lets staff members measure and visualize distance between multiple locations. It also lets users create custom 3D maps and access street view functionality, improving overall navigation.

Maptive comes with an API, which allows businesses to integrate the system with several third-party solutions. It is available on annual and 45-days subscriptions and support is extended via email, phone, FAQs and documentation.

Density Maps for AP Research Project Paper with Maptive

Maptive could be applied in nearly every case where data is cataloged by some location, but in my case it displayed my data throughout the Houston Metropolitan Area for a research project on electric vehicle charge anxiety. Maptive allowed me to take thousands of cells of data and compile it into a series of maps that showed electric vehicle distributions by zip code and Tesla Supercharging Stations with heat maps to create density maps. Undoubtedly the maps it produced made the research project much more manageable to read through from an outsider's perspective and demonstrated the data in a way that everyone should be able to understand. My only regret is that I didn't have the time and resources to do more with Maptive for this specific research project.

Pros:

There is an abundance of features at your disposal, with everything from physical map changes to completely customizable coloring of data. The only excuse for lacking aesthetics is not exploring all of the features to discover different ways to change the displays. Maptive works well for its intended use: displaying geo-spatially specific data onto a map. The customer service team is quick to respond and will help you work through issues. Overall great product that will help turn a boring table or array of data into an interesting map or series of maps to help get your point across for a sales pitch or a research paper.

Cons:

The integration of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel (in my case Sheets) was slightly challenging to get correct. There are some small details in headings and formatting of data to get right to make sure the synchronization works efficiently, that if ignored, make it so the data does not show up properly. Once everything is set up right, then it works quickly.

Maptive has been a great tool to better grasp the opportunities around us from a marketing perspective, especially compared to other tools that overpromise and underdeliver. Having Maptive helped us focus our efforts to really understand our audiences and break down our marketing by zip code to be more effective. I am also a huge fan of using visual representations in general, so Maptive was fantastic in that sense. I particularly love their customer support, the few times I contacted them, they were prompt and really helpful.

Cons:

Even though it's overall very intuitive, I did run into a couple of issues that their customer support helped me with. Truthfully the issues lay with my spreadsheets and not Maptive in itself, but their customer support people were really great and helped me figure it out.

Maptive doesn't require coding knowledge or any dev work. We started with the free trial and never looked back, I was a huge fan right from the start

Customer Services is Very bad

Pros:

Sa facilité d'utilisation et sa capacité à produire des cartes détaillées et lisibles. Il y a pas mal d'options disponibles, ainsi que la possibilité d'importer nos propres données pour une utilisation professionnelle.

Cons:

Le prix peut être un peu élevé, surtout pour les petites organisations qui n'ont besoin de produire des cartes que de manière sporadique. Un modèle d'abonnement mensuel pourrait rendre cette solution plus accessible pour ce type d'utilisateurs.

Fast and easy for matchmaking US deliveries

Overall we've been super happy with the tool - and its super easy to use and implement. We use it exclusively during the holiday season to matchmake individuals throughout the US based on their address and relative distance to each other and Maptive's features are sufficient for our purposes.

At our organization we had to visualize Christmas-tree recipients and delivery volunteers throughout the US for purpose of matchmaking. We explored number of mapping tools and Maptive was the one with all the features we needed and the easiest to implement / integrate into our google-based office backend - specifically Sheets.. Tech support was super helpful throughout the process and had literally every feature that we needed.

Cons:

Can’t think of too many since we only utilized a small fraction of the features other than perhaps a wish there was a technical way that the data auto updated whenever the Google Sheets data changed, but a minor point since we often know when our data was updated and needing visualization.

Maptive is easy to use and has all the tools we need for location planning and market research. The drive time radius tool is very useful for site selection. The Maptive support team is top notch and have always taken all the time necessary to answer my questions.

Cons:

The software can get a bit sluggish when there is a lot of data loaded on the map at once but refreshing usually fixed the problem.

A little overpriced but great software if you can afford it

great professional maps that any user can create and use. you won't be left behind in a sales call using these maps.

Pros:

Have used the free trial a couple of times and produced great, readable, detailed maps. they have tons of options and pointers and types of maps. We can import our data and get maps that we use professionally on sales calls. Very good product for any sales team.

Cons:

A little expensive for a smaller organization that wants to / needs to produce maps a few times a year. If they had a month subscription we would do it, but we don't need an annual.
