About Cvent Event Management

Cvent Event Management is a cloud-based solution that helps midsize organizations and enterprises with venue sourcing, online event registration, budget management and payment processing. The solution enables event planners to track the attendance of multiple events and capture relevant data.

Cvent Event Management enables event managers to create event calendars where attendees can view upcoming events as well as sync them with their calendars. The solution provides budget management capabilities that track funds across multiple events, calculate each meeting spend and overall variable costs.

Cvent Event Management has a reporting feature, which offers built-in reports and also allows users to create customized reports. The data from all reports can also be exported. Other features offered by the tool include custom event websites, contact management, mobile websites and social sharing. Cvent offers integration with other third-party applications, which include Salesforce, Concur, Marketo and Eloqua.

The Heavy Lifter That Makes Complex Events Look Easy

Cvent is the gold standard for a reason. It transformed how we handle our major conferences. It gives me the confidence that nothing will slip through the cracks. Once you get past the initial training phase, it becomes an indispensable tool. It handles the chaos of event planning with structure and reliability that I have not found in other platforms. For anyone running large scale events, this is the engine you want running the show.

Pros:

Cvent is a beast in the best way possible. I love the sheer depth of the platform. The registration features are incredibly customizable, allowing us to handle complicated attendee tracks without breaking a sweat. The OnArrival tool for check in is smooth and makes the first impression on attendees very professional. I also rely heavily on the reporting tools which give me granular data on everything from ticket sales to session attendance. It puts everything I need in one central hub so I do not have to juggle multiple spreadsheets.

Cons:

Because it does so much, the learning curve is steep. It took me a while to really feel comfortable navigating the backend without second guessing myself. The interface in some areas feels a bit clunky and could use a modern refresh to match newer competitors. It is also a significant investment, so it might be overkill for smaller organizations just running simple meetups. Customer support is generally good but getting to the right person can sometimes take longer than I would prefer.

I love Cvent Event Management!

I believe my association has been working in Cvent since 2013. I can remember day one like it was yesterday. I couldn't wait until I was able to work fluidly in Cvent. I am certified in Cvent Classic and am very excited about being signed up to get certified in Flex today!

I love that we are able to customize meeting builds. I also love that if there is something you want to learn how to do or if you need to troubleshoot customer support is available.

Cons:

I wish the cvent library worked the same way it did in the classic version. I keep hearing it's being worked on and would love if it's moved up on the list. :-)

It was not flexible and didn't allow for easy customizing.

High Learning Curve, but High Reward

My overall experience using Cvent Management has been positive. Now that I am much more familiar and comfortable navigating the platform, I am able to work through each phase of my event workflow. They also have an AMAZING custom support team who is patient and extremely knowledgable.

Cvent Event Management offer an expansive list of tools and resources for building out and executing an event from early planning to post-event wrap up.

Cons:

Because of the expansive amount of tools offered, the learning curve is very steep as the platform isn't always intuitive. I find with enough clicking around, I tend to get to where I need to be, but occasionally it is not always evident. This makes it difficult when onboarding new members of my team as it takes many months of continuous practice and real life application to truly get comfortable with the platform usage.

A Powerful All-in-One Tool for Seamless Event Management

My overall experience with Cvent Event Management has been very positive. The platform brings together everything needed to plan and run events, registration, communications, check-in, and reporting into one system, which saved a lot of time and improved the attendee experience. There is a learning curve at the start, but once set up, it’s a powerful tool that makes our events run more smoothly and gives us great data for measuring success.

What I liked most about Cvent Event Management is that it brings everything into one central system. From registration and communications to onsite check-in and reporting. It saved time, made the attendee experience smoother, and gave us clear insights into event performance.

Cons:

What I liked least about Cvent Event Management was the steep learning curve at the beginning. While it’s very powerful once you know your way around, the setup and customisation took longer than expected.

We chose Cvent over other platforms like EventsAir, Zoho Backstage, and Humanitix because it offered the most comprehensive set of tools in one place. While those platforms are strong in their niches, Cvent provided the scalability, reporting, integrations, and professional attendee experience we needed for larger, more complex events.

I'm not a fan of Valerie. I feel like it just takes me in circles and I end up contacting customer support anyhow.

Excellent Events Management Platform

We have been using Cvent Event Management for over a decade. Throughout that time, I've shopped competitors to see if we need to go elsewhere. Time after time, Cvent has been the only platform who could meet our needs at a competitive price. Well, not just at a competitive price, but AT ALL. Overall, it's been a very positive experience. Support is super-quick and our account rep and client success manager have always been very knowledgeable and on top of things. I really don't see us ever leaving them for a different events platform at any point in the future.

It's got a TON of flexibility that will fit just about every use case. The pricing is really good compared to a lot of other platforms.

Cons:

Sometimes you have to do workarounds for things that should just be normal features, such as adding images to the session descriptions.

The value for the price was really outstanding. The features that we use would have cost much much more with some of the other platforms or were just completely unavailable.

Great Customer Support

My overall experience with CVENT is pretty good. We use this platform regularly as we conduct many events in a year. I do not feel like it is very user friendly but it does have capabilities that other platforms do not have which is vital to the way we gather data during the registration process.

Pros:

CVENT has a lot of capabilities that other platforms do not such as the ability to link questions, have sub questions and do conditional settings. The customer support is great and has always been able to find a solution to my issues.

Cons:

There are often many areas you have to modify for a single final action. For example, for an event to be live, you have to have the event live, the registration active AND the admission types active. Some of the design features are very limited and modifying things like images can be very challenging. We often have repeat business and are finding that when we copy an event, there are a lot of hidden settings that get copied over and can make the new copy a bit messy.

It is a total game-changer for event planning! This platform makes it super easy to create landing pages for our events.The on arrival feature is a total lifesaver. Being able to check in attendees and print badges on the spot really levels up the whole experience for everyone involved. Plus, it's super handy for keeping track of who's actually shown up.

Cons:

I wish the site designer was a little easier to use, as sometimes it is hard to move things around and can be a bit clunky.

Pros:

Does a good job of informing attendees at a conference of where the location of different presentations are, easy to get information out to all attendees should there be alerts or changes, and easy to integrate the information

Cons:

When we used it, some users reported that the information was incomplete or would frequently crash - these may be isolated or user based errors.
