About Adobe Illustrator

Adobe Illustrator is a vector graphics and animation software that helps businesses create mobile graphics, product packagings, book illustrations and other graphics on a centralized platform. It lets staff members create letterforms and fonts with custom weight, width and slant.

Adobe Illustrator allows team members to collaborate on files, track versions, create mirror images, modify spacing and other editing processes. It lets graphic designers utilize artboards to create and export custom banners in JPG and PNG file format. It lets users add layers, move objects, crop images, combine shapes, edit clipping masks, create special effects, insert shadows and more from within the unified platform. Additionally, it lets employees create designs with free-form gradients, shapes, photos, illustrations and typography.

Adobe Illustrator offers iOS and Android-based mobile applications, which allows staff members to create designs remotely. It is available on a monthly subscription and support is extended via documentation, live chat, phone, email and other online measures.

Adobe Illustrator new version is hanging my laptop and acquiring lot of space from the memory, that is making my laptop very slow.

Powerful tool for people who know how to use it

Pros:
It has a lot of options for vector editing, gradient options are phenomenal, image tracing is crucial and also outlining strokes.
Cons:
For me it’s not my primary software and I find it not intuitive and over complicated. I do think it’s because it has a lot of advanced options but I am used to using software intuitively especially that I know InDesign very well but sometimes even similar options work very differently and sometimes are named differently. It annoys me that it is not more integrated or even friendly with InDesign. I don’t like the lack of layout options and how much slower it is to work on. It might be that I am not an illustrator though.

Reasons for switching to Adobe Illustrator

I switched to all Adobe products from Corel. I was happy using Corel but when purchased Adobe Creative suit it made sense to ditch it and start using Illustrator instead.

Pros:
Illustrator offers the most design flexibility and customizations that I have been able to find in the industry. It goes beyond that Canva or other competitors will ever be able to offer. It is more work, but it is also the landscape in which truly original content can be made!
Cons:
It's UI experience is not great. The format is not intuitive and essentially needs to be explained by another human being through courses (whether in person or online).

Pros:
Adobe Illustrator is very powerful for producing vector graphics like logos that can be scaled without losing quality. Its tools are awesome, especially for a professional graphic designer.
Cons:
Learning Adobe Illustrator can be steep for non-graphic designers. Those new to graphic design can be quickly discouraged when starting out. You need a lot of creativity to use the tools and produce awesome graphics. Few people have very high creativity.

Reasons for switching to Adobe Illustrator

MS-Publisher was simply too limited for professional graphics for web and social media and print.

Cons:
I hate how bulky some of the designs I've worked on get and when the software means to crash, it crashes with flying colors.

Reasons for switching to Adobe Illustrator

Illustrator was just a better software for vector files. It was just much easier to get into and understand also.

Better Quality

5

Adobe illustrator is my favorite and I'll probably always use it as long as I can afford it. That being said, I can do most (not all) of the same things with cheaper software.

Pros:
What stands out the most is the ability to use a larger canvas size and complex custom brushes without lag time and other issues when painting. Everything is always very smooth and fluid. Adobe illustrator has more tools in general, and more powerful tools for things like selections, color adjustments, and transformations. I also liked the layer and layer property options. I designed a product for my company and the artwork and logo on it turned out great using Adobe illustrator. Overall quality of everything is just better, simple as that.
Cons:
Adobe illustrator is significantly more expensive than other digital art software. The workspace and entire software is going to feel very different if youre coming from another product. That could be a pro or con but either way I think there is a small con with the "re-learning" process.

Reasons for switching to Adobe Illustrator

As I got better I wanted more advanced software.
